The good: Scheduling was easy enough and the work was done with reasonable quality and professionalism. The bad: The entire project took almost two months, with multiple miscues and other logistical issues. But in the end we are happy with the product and the owners worked hard to make it right

Nice People. If I was having a BBQ, these would be the kind of people I would want visiting. For my furnace work, I won't ever call them. Paid $120 for a furnace evaluation early in the year. Despite the furnace having problems firing up at times, the technician was unable to find anything wrong. A few weeks later, the furnace was refusing to start more frequently so they came out again for no charge. They replaced a control board that can be purchased on Amazon for $54 and sent me a bill for $400. I called and asked why I wasn't told how much it would be once the technician determined he needed to replace the board. Normally they would call but the technician was understandably distracted with his wife in hospital. They did the work without telling me how much it would cost. Wish I had the opportunity to delay putting in a $54 board. So the company agreed to discount the bill to $250. Add the $250 to $120 and we paid $370 for a $54 board. But like they explained, they warranty the board and will come out and fix it if it goes bad.

Matt and his team were head and shoulder above the competition: from quoting the work, to getting the work scheduled to being extra diligent about isolating work area from house due to severe asthma of household occupant. Team and foreman arrived as promised, we walked and talked through last details and they got to work. Team was professional, pleasant and kept us informed of their progress. They solved unexpected problems well - meaning work in a crawl space is hard and there are always obstacles to work around - they did so well. We learned our ducts had HUGE gaps in them and were not secured as they should have been. His team took care of all of that. During the process of their work, they discovered a small leak in the crawl space and let us know so we could have it fixed before it became a bigger problem. Again, it was outside their scope and they did not have to inform us. We added on two items over and above the initial projected scope of work: rebuild air return in garage and install a return on second level of home. They arranged to complete the add-on work later in the same week. Quality of work was excellent! They sealed every duct they could access and informed us of the very few areas they could not access due to location. The sealed the ducts where they entered the house at the registers being careful not to stain floors or carpet with sealant. Matt is smart, really good at what he does and cares about his customers. He stays after a problem until it is solved. We highly recommend Matt and his team to any homeowner wanting to put their HVAC system in good hands. After completed his work, asthma of household member improved dramatically.

Very professional, prompt and just good people. Great local business. We had 5 different quotes and spent a lot of time doing our research on our new furnace. Petra was no nonsense, not the cheapest, but the person who sells the furnace to you is the person installing it and that was worth a lot!

Every conversation was very friendly and professional. They are a smaller, employee-owned company... so quality is the first thing on their mind, whether it's talking on the phone of installing a new heating/cooling system, I'm sure of it. I've referred family and friends PETRA's way many times because I know they will be treated properly.

Matt from Petra came out and answered all my questions. He explained the advantages and disadvantages to the various kinds of systems they offer. He examined and measured the old unit, and measured many things about the house. After Petra, we had two other contractors come out and give us quotes. They were all higher. I had read that having a company do a "Manual J" calculation was important. The other contractors didn't feel that it was important and didn't do one. The just asked me for the square footage of the house and made a recommendation from that. No measurements and only a brief look at the broken unit. When I called Petra back to see if they would do a "Manual J", Matt said that he had already done one (free I might add) for the recommendation he had given us. I asked him to come out for a more precise quote now that I had learned so much more. He came back out and gave us another quote, and spent even more time with me talking about the options. Once selected they met their schedule and were finished in one day. When the electrician had forgotten something, Matt went out and got it so that the electrician wouldn't have to stop and make the project go into a second day. They were very careful to clean up after themselves. It's been several months now, and I'm still very satisfied with their work. Matt is an HVAC craftsman. The others I met were HVAC salesmen. The difference was very obvious.
