Description of Work: I was very pleased by their responsiveness and the quality of work performed. Although I had one problem. The roof was a complete tear-off and there was a lot of debris. Although they did clean up the mess very well they did not clean up as they proceeded. The back door was blocked for a few days which caused a burden of entering the house. Also they should inform the customer that they would experience a lot of debris falling into the attic spaces so the customer could prepare in advance for such a situation.

Description of Work: Removed old Cedar shingle roof and installed new Malarkey shingle roof. |Teo & the crew were amazing ! The entire team is professional, punctual, polite and very detail oriented.

Description of Work: They came quickly with a very reasonable bid. Started when they said they would and found a lot more damage under our old roof than they had expected. They were VERY fair about handling those added expenses within the bid they originally gave me. Make NO mistake... having your roof taken off and a new one put on is a HUGE mess. I thought I was prepared...... But I was mistaken. The amount of debris was shocking to me. They did a pretty good job of protecting our water feature and Koi that were in close proximity to our roof. Beware if you have complicating elements to your roof replacement... ie.: Skylights or a chimney from a wood stove, like we did. These things can cause unexpected problems. We had all four of our skylights replaced because of rotten seals around the edges. There was quite a bit of damage on the inside of the house when the skylights were removed. Teo had no problem sending out a subcontractor to repair the damage done to the interior trim, with no expense passed on to us. They did a good job with that. |They had a little trouble detaching and reattaching the wood stoves chimney, and I had to hire a handyman to come out and repair that. They did come out and reattach the braces on the chimney to our roof for us. One other thing to prepare yourself for...... if you have a satellite dish on your roof... be prepared to possibly have to spend a chunk of money to reposition your dish after the roof is done. It will more than likely be a hair off, which will mess up your signal. For us that cost us an extra $120. Just so many little extra issues we that didn't even occur to us when we decided to do our roof. All in all, these guys did a very good, fast job. They were nice guys, and respectful. They did a pretty good cleanup job... although I did find a lot of pieces of roofing around our property for weeks afterward, but in fairness, we had a huge wind and rain storm blow through right at the end of our project. I am still waiting to get a warranty on the job, signed by one of the principals from the company though. I would really like to have that in my hand.

Description of Work: Giron completed our new roof professionally, timely and to the exact price quoted in the estimate. Other contractors' estimates included work we did not need or want. The roof was a complete rebuild from the wood base up, and included removal of three layers from the old roof. Our choice of Giron was based on a large number of Angie's List reviewers (~144) grading their work as an "A". The work was done in about 2 1/2 days (estimate was 3 days). We have a 10 year installation guarantee from Giron and a 30 year Malarkey warranty on shingle materials installed. Roof area: ~3300 ft2. Teo, the estimator/supervisor, was great to work with all around. Clean up was excellent.

Description of Work: A full roof was replaced, which was completed in two days, it was amazing! The problem is that I also paid for a ridge cap to be placed on my garage and I didn't find out for months that it had not been done. Even that wouldn't have been so bad, things happen, but I have not been able to get a call back from them to fix it.

Description of Work: Teo Giron and another worker came out to give us an estimate on having the roofing, gutters and paint re-done on our house. They showed up on time (30 minutes early, but no big deal) on June 24th to measure and gather basic information in order to put together the estimate. After two weeks we finally received an email from Teo saying that they have put together an estimate and that they would like to work out a time to discuss it. We confirmed a meeting time for 5pm on July 9th and they never showed up. No call, no email, nothing. |Due to this experience we chose to go with another exterior company. Nothing about the limited experience that we had with Giron was very impressive.

Description of Work: Contacted this provider to replace a deck. During discussion he indicated that he did not do deck replacements on second stories. He was very gracious about it and offered a recommendation for another provider.

Description of Work: They gave an estimate for repairing my roof which included replacing missing shingles and worn out parts around the vents. He took photos of the damage and work that was done and I feel the cost was very reasonable (I had a similar roof tune up 3 years ago and was charged $400).

Description of Work: They were significantly less expensive than the next closest bidder, while providing the same level of materials and service. In one case they were almost $2500 cheaper than one contractor and covered much more area of the main roof and ancillary areas of the house. Teo was very responsive, and the workers were thorough and accommodating. The roof looks great!

Description of Work: We purchased an Angies big deal for this provider, but found out later that they don't work on shake roofs, so didn't use them. They were, however, quick to respond and arrived as promised. After they saw the roof they told us they don't maintain shake roofs.

Description of Work: We called to get an estimate and ask some questions so we could get an idea of the chemicals used to clean our roof. We were told they would have to call us back later that day. We received no call back. Three days later WE had to call back and told them that we still had questions and that we never received a call back. They connected us with Teo and we asked our questions and decided to go ahead with their service. Teo informed us that we might as well have them do the work on the same day we scheduled an estimate which was Friday 4/26 at 6:00 in the evening. We told him that would be fine with us. When no one showed up at 6:00 we began to wonder and when no one showed up at 7:00 we decided to call the office number. No one answered but we left a message. At 7:10 we received a call saying that they were on their way from a city that was only 10 minutes from us but 1/2 hour went by and we got another call saying they would be here in 15 minutes. We waited and finally they showed up. They were an hour and a half late. When they arrived they preceded to tell us that they were instructed not to do any work but only to look at our house???? This is not what Teo and I agreed on when we spoke and neither was arriving an hour and a half late. The two workers said they would return the following day and for us to decide what time we would like them to return. We agreed on 12:00. It is now 3:15 and we haven't received a phone call or anything. This has to be the most unprofessional way to run a business. Our time is too valuable to waste on businesses that aren't interested if their employees show up or not. The two people that showed up told us they didn't even bring along the chemicals that needed to clean our roof. I would never pay any up front costs to these people!!!They may never return.

Description of Work: My 25 yr old cedar shake roof was crumbling. Time to bite bullet and look into having it replaced.......a huge expense for me. After checking Angie's list I got 5 estimates. 4 were close and the 5th was way out of the ballpark. I checked CCB's, asked each estimator a lot of questions, took notes, researched and compared materials, price and the Angie reviews. My homework was done. Guimis of Giron Construction replied to my estimate request immediately, came out immediately, emailed an estimate immediately. Even emailed satellite pictures of my roof from above. Any question asked was answered ... you guessed it...... immediately. I was given an excellent price on the roof work with an Angie's coupon and was also given an excellent deal on new skylights(one of mine was cracked and the other failing), a great deal on gutter screens (the cheap wire mesh I had, blew off in recent storms, other companies had quoted much higher) and a great deal on soffit covers (I had birds nesting the attic). The siding around the chimney was falling apart and this was replaced at a good price too (and painted to match). Pictures of every issue and the work as it progressed was emailed to me. Guimis, the owner, is very personable, knowledgable, responsive and understood that I had a budget. He was straight forward in explaining everything, no big sales spiel. He was always a mouse click away. I signed the contract on Friday, work started Monday and finished on Wednesday! My roof looks awesome and it is such a relief. Need a new roof or a repair? Call Giron Construction now. No they didn't pay me to say this..... I'm just a really happy customer.
