G's Concrete Inc

We had a very muddy narrow side yard that was virtually unusable. We wanted to store our garbage and yard waste here but knew we would need to address the mud first. We thought initially that we could do it ourselves, but given the scope of the project (a 5'x25' area) and the fact that we needed everything needed to be sloped away from the house we decided to hire a professional. We scheduled the job a couple months ago and it was worth the wait. The work was done very well and the workers were prompt, cleaned up the work site when they were done, and were very courteous. The job was completed in the time scheduled and on budget. Email communication wasn't particularly timely - I recommend a phone call if you're looking for a quick response. But overall the quality was very good and I would recommend G's services to anyone looking for high quality concrete work.

I sent Gerardo an email on the 15th of June, wanting him to call me with confirmation of the date, and then I would ask him about seeing the samples. He did not call me back until the 18th, three days before the install. He asked me what color I have chosen? I told him he had not showed me any colors or stamps. He said oh you need to go to my website, they are all there, and then let me know. I went to his website, which states he has a huge selection of colors and stamps to choose from. I went to his website, and I do not see a color selection, all that was there were some pictures with no explanation of some work they have done. I only saw one color, and maybe 3 or 4 stamps. I immediately e-mailed him and stated he needed to call me immediately the next day, which would be the 19th. I told him I am concerned because I do not see a huge selection at all of colors or stamps, and I needed him to come to the house and show me. The next day which is today the 19th, I had not heard one word from Gerardo, and it was 4:30 in the afternoon. I then wrote him that this was no way to run a business, and he owed his customers more than no response. His website says he has a huge selection of colors and stamps, and they are not there. He told me I would find them there. I then told him he has lost my business.I would not tell anyone to use him, and before making any agreement with him, make sure he personally shows you samples of colors and stamps he has. You are in for a big surprise.

Doing business with G and his staff was a pleasure. I had two modifications to the project after G had given me the bid (extending the driveway from 35 to 40 feet and the digging out and pouring of the footings for the carport). Without hesitation, G agreed to do both without charging me more. My wife and I (and our neighbors) were impressed by how efficiently G's crew worked and by how they cleaned everything up. We wholeheartedly urge that you consider G's Concrete if you need a new driveway. I noticed some recent negative reviews, and I'd like to take a moment to comment. G's is busy (not surprising given their quality work and reasonable prices). When my wife and I accepted G's bid, he informed us that his crew was running about a week late due to the weather. We were patient, and our patience was rewarded.

G's Concrete was the lowest of the 3 Angie's List contractors who bid the job. I typically do not go for the lowest bid but when a company has so many glowing reviews and service awards I did not feel like it was a risk. Gerrado (G) is very easy to work with. He is very patient and answered in a timely fashion every question I had as the project was proceeding. I asked them to take care and avoid damaging any plants, my main concern, and every plant came through unscathed. The concrete work was excellent and they did a great job cleaning up.

I called G's Concrete and was told that they could come out anytime I wanted to give me a bid on a cement patio. I was to email them my name, address and date that I wanted them to come out. I have emailed them twice and called twice and have not heard from the company since. Very poor customer service!

Asked for estimate on sidewalk repair. Was told someone would stop by. Never heard from anyone again!!! Great service?

Good. As soon as city sent us notice of required sidewalk repairs, we received a number of unsolicited offers from concrete companies that made bids based on the city's estimate of the square footage without coming by to see the site. Since the work involved roots from large trees adjacent to the sidewalk we were skeptical. We contacted some of the vendors after viewing Angie's List reviews. Did not hear back from any except Gerald "G" Herrera. He came by to look at the sidewalk, sent us a written bid and apologized for not getting back to us sooner because he was out of town. The work took a while because he had to wait for the city to send out an arborist to look as the tree roots and for the permit. But the weather was rainy so we were not in a hurry. He worked with the city inspectors to get the work done just right. We are very satisfied with the work and the cleanup. He gave us an Angie's List discount so the bill was lower than his original bid, and that price was one of the lowest we got! We would use again and have recommended to others.

Add us to the list of satisfied customers. G's team did a terrific job. They are very pleasant, polite and professional. There is no smoking, no loud conversation, or music. They rang the front door every day to let me know they were starting work, and did the same thing at the end of the day to let me know they were leaving. They cleaned up the site before leaving, and let me know when they'd be back and what would happen the next day. Any of the workers could answer my questions, and G was easy to reach by phone during the "off" hours. G had several suggestions to improve the look of the job, like running the drip hose for the patio pots through a pipe in the new concrete so it didn't run across it. Our job also had some complications like an arbor on the patio. It required removing the concrete, propping up the arbor, and then pouring a new footing under the arbor post to support it. Once that was in place, the new aggregate was poured over the footing so it all blended in. Another complication was we found dry rot in some of the sub-flooring due to the old patio being poured up against the sill plate. G had a framer repair the dry rot and place flashing over the sill plate so the new concrete would not be in contact with the wood. I'm glad we caught this now before it turned into a bigger mess. Suffice it to say, G and his team did a great job.

When we called G for a bid he was able to come out within a day. He was running late due to traffic and was courteous enough to call me and let me know he would be ten minutes late. We received the quote a day later via email. The price was significantly less than other quotes we had received and it included an additional 10% angieslist discount. He wasn't able to do the job right away due to weather. The first stretch of nice weather I emailed G and asked if he could come out and do the work. His crew came out that week and finished the job in two days. His crew was awesome! They were super hard working and conscientious! When they were done working they swept up my walkway and drive way to remove any debris they left behind, They did everything exactly as requested and the final product is just what we wanted.

I was happy with his service and I would use him again.

Prompt response. Answered questions. Was able to start work within the week. The crew was impressive in its quiet, orderly, professional and friendly manner. They were very careful not to disturb plantings that bordered the sight and cleaned up very thoroughly when they were finished.

Gerardo ("G") was quick to respond to my e-mailed inquiry about whether he would be interested in bidding on our project. He came to the house the next day, and followed up promptly with an e-mailed bid. The work was scheduled for the next week, and the weather cooperated enough to allow it to be completed as scheduled. The crew was very professional and took care to clean up after their work, including shoveling up and disposing of concrete "leftovers" that had fallen from the cement truck onto the street in front of our house. The finished work looks very good. They did a decent job of matching the existing aggregate, and they lined up the expansion joints in the new portion of the driveway with those in the old driveway. All in all, we were very pleased, both with the workers and the finished product.

The job went great, The only Dos would be too have them do the work for you. I don't have anything bad to say period!

I found them on Angie's List. They did an awesome job. They actually were so good that they showed up sooner than I expected them which caught me off guard. I had them come back the next day and they finished it in a day. They did exemplary work. They were great with communication and the pricing was reasonable.

They tore off the old driveway and carried it off and then poured the new driveway. His prices were excellent - just exceptional! He did a great job. G was great. He returned my phone calls each and every time. G was very courteous and easy to get along with, as well as his workers. It was a very smooth experience working with G. He was responsive and informative. He scheduled us in and started promptly work each morning. He paid attention to the details of our requests. Our new driveway looks great!

Gerardo was timely in his email and phone responses and kept me up to date on the progress of the job. His crew showed up as scheduled and I was impressed with their diligence, attention to detail and hard work. They were polite and did a good job of cleaning up at the end of the day. The main job was done in two days...we had good February weather. The county inspector noticed damage to the roadway and met with G to discuss proper repair. G followed up with the repair and kept me informed of the progress. The pad looks great and I would use this company again.

Our experience was beyond expectation. We got estimate from multiple people and we decided to go with Gerardo because of our initial impressions of his professionalism, punctuality, resourcefulness, and we were not disappointed. The project went by smoothly and in a timely and efficient fashion. He also gave us a discount for being a member of Angie's List, which we appreciate. We're very impressed by the work they have done and are already getting complements from neighbors and friends! We strongly recommend them to others and we'll surely be turning to them for all out future concrete project needs.

Way back in October of 2010, I'd broken some of my concrete sidewalk to install a black drain pipe across the sidewalk and to the street. While there was only a 1 foot gap to repair, the City of Gresham came out and required an additional set of concrete "panels" (as they are called) to be removed. However, the City was "nice" enough to remove and dispose of ALL of the old concrete (at their expense -- our tax dollars at work). Gerardo, owner of G's Concrete, was the only concrete contractor (of four total requests) from Angie's List to return my call. He was very professional and, once he returned from vacaction in December, was able to perform the services on the first good weather day available. Communication (via text, e-mail or phone) was always good with Gerardo. His crew showed up on time and spent approximately 4 hours pouring, smoothing and making our sidewalk look like new. They did an outstanding job. Their bid was the lowest and the work was excellent.

We had a couple of estimates from some contractors on Angie's list- G's Concrete was the best. We had the quote in September 2011, and the first available appointment G had was in October 2011, so we took it. They started the job on a Wednesday afternoon, and had finished by Friday lunchtime. They took just over a day to dig up the existing driveway, and about half a day to pour the new concrete. We were happy to business with G, he made us feel confident that he was going to get the work done. It is very smooth, and looks great.

They did a great job. Overall I was satisfied with their work.

He came right out, listened to our problems, and came by the next day to do the work. This way we didn't have to delay our plumbing project. In the end he did a beautiful job. We got more than we paid for!

Gerrado and his team were very professional, honest and fair. They took extreme care in completing the agreed upon projects on time, and included a few other small ones at little or no cost. We are using them again for a new project and will refer them any business in the future.

G and I communicated through email and agreed on the amount. His team showed up quickly to complete the work and even with the weather was able to finish it that week. The total amount of the invoice was exactly what was discussed initially. Overall I am very pleased with the work and would recommend him in the future.
