+ 0 moreI have replaced roofs on 2 previous homes, and not had good experiences. This company changed my perception of roofers. The estimator Chad Johnson was a real pro, and their crew top notch. They worked quickly, but accurately, and performed a thorough clean up, including using a magnet to pick up any stray nails. One more thing that impressed me is that they required no money down, full payment only on completion of the job.
Description of Work: Complete reroof, including tear off and disposal of old roof and skylights, and 9 new Velux skylights.

Crew worked every day for 10 days removing and installing the new roof. They were very professional, worked the entire time they were on site and cleaned up after completing installation.

Description of Work: I recently discovered some leaks on the ceilings in several rooms in my house which made me realize that I needed a new roof! I contacted Bliss roofing and another roofing company. Never heard from the 2nd company but got a phone call the next day from Scott Parks with Bliss Roofing. He scheduled an appointment with me to inspect the roof the next day, was on time, and did a thorough inspection, and emailed me the bid the next day. He contacted me frequently to update me on what was going on. The job was scheduled and involved a complete tear off and replacement of the roof. The crew that were sent out were top notch professionals. They came on time every day (working on both Saturday and Sunday); cleaned up after their work every day and made sure the roof was covered to protect it from the elements. When working on the roof over our deck, the team discovered that a very shoddy job that had been done by another roofing company. They redid this as well. When Scott called me to tell me the job was finished, he indicated he would personally inspect it to make sure it was to his standards and also told me several times to call him if there were any concerns and he would insure they would be addressed. This company's work ethic and standards are stellar! It is clear it is a very well-run business. Therefore, I am extremely confident about the quality of the work that was done and would highly recommend this company

+ -1 moreThe cabin is about 45 miles from town. Chad drove up to check out the job, and sent an estimate via email. We received two other estimates and Bliss was in the middle. However, their professionalism really stood out, and we felt we would be guarenteed the best job by having them do it. We were up against a deadline from the insurance co and Bliss assured they would be done in time. When the roof was torn off, we decided on our own that we wanted CVX plywood put down. They were very accomodating with this change of plans and had a truck up there with the added materials the same day. They did a great job. They provided their own sanitation facilities and the cleanup of the grounds was immaculate. It was a pleasure dealing with this company.
Description of Work: They tore off a roof on a mountain cabin, did some repairs and replaced it.

+ -1 moreThey started on a Friday, worked Saturday, finished all but a low-slope dormer Monday, and wrapped-up Tuesday. The crew leader spoke some English and was willing to discuss items as I had questions, and the foreman was reasonably responsive by cell. They fixed some minor dryrot for less than $200. I found a few nails after they cleaned up, but no biggie. Some of the siding looks a bit rough now that it's exposed (just one layer of shingles), but overall very pleased with the process and outcome. Sleeping blissfully!
Description of Work: Removed several layers of shingles and replaced with new shingles. Added/repaired flashing.

+ 0 moreTerrific! One the best providers of service I have encountered. They were timely; they kept me informed of their progress; they were exceptionally responsive to some concerns I had; they watched the weather like hawks and worked on the roof whenever it wasn't raining; they were extremely tidy (they blew our whole patio each day, not just the areas where they worked); and they came up with creative solutions to unique problems (like a rare model of tile that hasn't been manufactured in years). The team worked extremely well together and they all knew their stuff; in fact, I never did discover who was in charge. I informed one of the workers of a serious leakage issue we have encountered around our chimney. Unbeknownst to them (through an open window they couldn't see), I heard the fellow discussing my concern with his co-workers and he explicitly said they should pay special attention to that area. They estimated 3 days for the project, but it took five days and they still charged the bid price. We have had several downpours and lots of rain since they completed the job and we have not encountered any problems. Kudos to the team for an exceptionally well done job.
Description of Work: Replaced a low-slope roof with PVC roofing material, replaced skylight and replaced tiles.

+ -1 moreThe results are excellent. The crew was great, they lacked supervision because they had some scheduling issues. They said they would clean up everyday but they did not. It was some of the hottest weather, but they still did it. At the end they cleaned up and they did a good job of that too.

Since we were gone, they did everything on their own. The final work looks great. They installed a solar fan I had purchased. Everything was clean and undamaged around the house. This was a very professional job - I would recommend this company any time.

This was a large roof, 90+ squares with numerous skylights (21) and three chimneys to work around, all of which had to be flashed. They were neat and cleaned up daily, did no damage to the flower beds or other plantings. They offered the best price with the best warranty of the 4 contractors I got bids from and they did a great job. What more could you ask for?
Description of Work: Tear off existing shake roof and replace with 1/2" x 24" Medium 100% Vertical Grain CCA Treated Shakes with 30 year fully transferable warranty to subsequent owners.

He listened to my concerns, inspected the roof, gave me his opinion on what was wrong, and gave an estimate on what it would cost to fix. Norm came out to do the work, did an excellent job, was accomodating, and worked fast. I had about 6 different roofers come out in addition to Bliss, none of which I trusted to do the job.
Description of Work: There was inadequate venting (in and out) on my roof which made the second story very warm on those hot summer days (even w/ the AC on all the time). As result, I had the roofer increase the number of input vents, install solar powered attic fans, add output venting, and re-vent the roof over the bonus room with a "smart-vent" (modified ridge vent).

+ -1 moreThe team of workers was Mexican. They did not speak English. It would have been better if the team was American but that would have costed more money. It was a medium bid; not too high and not too low. I was not able to gauge the quality of the roof because I am not in the business. They left about lunchtime on Friday though it was payday. They turned up on Saturday. From what I could gather, they had forgotten something, left something or did not have something like a flash. That is average. They don’t pay workers till the end of the day. There was no follow up with the person who spoke English as was arranged earlier. He did not show up during the job. That was disappointing. They just rebuilt the roof. He showed up and paid money and they left. We looked around quite a bit so I would probably use them again.

+ -1 moreWe have had other roofers come out and try to locate where and what the problem was with our roof. So far, 2 other roofers were not able to pin point the issue. One tried to tell us that the flashing was the problem; the other told us that it was our skylights and we needed to replace the skylights and a section of the roof. My husband found Bliss Roofing through Angie's List and called. They were incredibly professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. Someone was out within a week to do an estimate. The representative from Bliss roofing actually showed my husband the section of the roof where he was able to trace the leak back to. He was thorough with his inspection and found an unrelated problem. He told us this as a side note and not as a way to get more money out of us. He told us that it would not be too much trouble to fix. We asked him to include it in the estimate. We received the written estimate back in the mail within days after he was at our house. My husband called to make arrangement for Bliss to do the work and again, they were able to come out within a week. Two workers came out and had the job done in an amazing amount of time. They cleaned up all the debris to the point where you would have never known they were there in the first place. A couple of days later we received a bill with the exact amount of the estimate. We are extremely happy with this company from start to finish!
Description of Work: A portion of my roof was leaking down under my porch and leaking inside in my ceiling. I have many peaks and skylights on my roof and there was a section near one of the peaks where we thought the leak was coming from. Although, there are also 2 skylights near by. We needed to have a roofer located the leak and repair it.

They cleaned my gutters and I didn't find any nails in the driveway or the yard. Jeff drew me a picture showing what went where. The picture matched the work performed.
Description of Work: A complete tear off of my old shake roof. Bliss inspected the deck before applying 1/2" CDX plywood over skip sheeting. They put down felt underlayment, drip edge, metal along rake edge, W valley, high profile hip and ridge. They flashed the chimney, plumbing, skylight and side walls of the dormer. The price included a new Theremolite skylight, Fold-A-Vent on all ridges, ice and water shield at eaves and valleys. The roof is a Certainteed Presidental shake with Certainteed winterguard.

The installers were experienced, professional and very courteous. During the Winter of 2009, we experienced storm damage to the roof and some of our fences and actually lost several trees. I called Bliss Roofing on a Sunday and left a voice message related to the storm damage to the roof. Bliss returned my call early on Monday morning and scheduled the repair. The service team completed the repairs quickly before the next snow storm arrived! They also completed the work during substantial winds which was very impressive. This company has integrity, is professional and provides wonderful customer service. We will continue to refer Bliss Roofing to others with the utmost confidence!

+ -1 moreIt went wonderfully. I called them on the Monday after the storm to ask about pricing and times for repairs. The very pleasant lady (whose name escapes me) said they were heavily backlogged even from the earlier snow storms, but their plan was to send out estimators in neighborhoods on Tues and Wed and to try to make the repairs on Thurs and Fri. She said the price depended on the number of packages of shingles needed @ $250 a package. She called on Tuesday and said they had decided instead of estimates, they were going to begin repairs immediately - and was that okay? We were thrilled - they were coming on that day! Chris was the repairman. He arrived right on time, inspected the entire roof, replaced the shingles and sealed and glued several loose shingles - and it all took less than an hour. This was not a major repair job, but we were so happy to have such great service, especially since there were many homes in our area that had roof damage.
Description of Work: We lost several roofing composition shingles during the recent high winds. Bliss Roofing replaced the missing shingles and sealed/glued several others that were loose.

+ -1 moreThe woman indicated that someone would come out on Tuesday and evaluate the repairs we needed. I did not have to be home and they would get back to us a day or two later. They came out on the day they said and a card was left indicating that they had been to our home. The note on the card was written by someone who was not an English major. It was cryptic but the gist was they would be calling us in a day or two. When we received the bid in the mail it made me laugh... not only did the person who gave the bid not understand English, not know the difference between a phone call and mailing a bid, they did not understand what we wanted. They gave us an estimate for a roof replacement. Nothing in the bid they gave said anything about repairs to our existing roof. The estimate they gave was outrageous... and if we did replace the roof we would NEVER do what they suggested which was replace existing shingles with more shingles... can you say fire hazard? I plan on calling them and asking for another estimate. This time I will request to be present so both parties will be clear about what we are needing and not waste either parties time.
Description of Work: Requested an estimate on roof repair. The company called me a few days after my initial contact, stating that they were not sure I was contacted and apologized for being late in returning my call. I was fine - it was over the holidays.

+ -1 moreWork was completed in a timely manner and the new roof is beautiful. After the new roof was installed, we noticed condensation coming from the vaulted ceilings, dripping onto the carpets below (on hot days only). I contacted Bliss Roofing (almost a year after the install) and determined that ridge vents were not put in with the new roof (which are necessary with vaulted ceilings). Bliss returned and installed the ridge vents at no charge (since this should have been part of the original bid and install). I highly recommend Bliss for their workmanship and trustworthiness.
Description of Work: We had our cedar shake roof torn off and replaced with a composition roof - this was put on top of the existing sold sheeted plywood (without the existing sheeted plywood it would have been an additional $3,000). We were also responsible for the removal and reinstallation of our existing solar panels.

+ -1 moreGreg was very nice and helpful, and had a "no problem" attitude. Of the three bids I received, this was the least expensive (although all were fairly close in price). I had the impression I could trust this company. I was provided with a packet of information to help me check out the business and learn about what to expect in the roofing process. Also provided was a list of completed jobs to look at if you desired (most were far from our house, we didn't go look at any). I am sure I would have been happy with Bliss, but because of our gutter worries, we went with another company who included the gutter job.
Description of Work: Bid provided (in late June) for removal of 3 layers of roofing and to build new roof from plywood on up. Also needed additional ventilation, some facia repair, and new gutters. House is small, but tall and awkward. Had bad gutter issues. Greg from Bliss provided bid for roof, stated they did not do gutters but would provide us with a list of companies they could recommend.

Description of Work: They tore off all of the cedar shakes. They put down plywood and then put the shingles over it. They also cleaned all of the gutters. They hauled away the old roof.
