Bliss Roofing

As of 12/21/12 we have not seen any moisture on our ceiling around the fireplace. The fellow told us what he thought the problem was and how he would fix it after coming down from the roof. The problem he described was what we had suspected. We told him to go ahead and do it. His working conditions were pretty wet as it was raining pretty steadily. After an hour we wondered if he was done. He was done and gone! When I spoke with the office, I mentioned he didn't say he was leaving. She said his schedule was full of repairs to be done so he was on to the next. We were glad they were able to get out a little sooner than expected.

Bliss roofing was excellent in every aspect of repairing my roof leak plus doing extra work. Their office staff was kind and compassionate during a very busy rainy season. They arranged to have someone out that same day to inspect and bid on repair work. Gary came out and did a thorough inspection. He took his time looking at the initial leak site in the crawl space but then wanted to evaluate another space above the leak site in the attic. He got a ladder and went on the roof, inspecting the roof, taking the time to lift up shingles and really assess the situation. When I offered to tell him what other roofing companies suspected was the problem, he said to hold off telling him until he'd finished his inspection so he could form his own opinion of the problem. This told me that I was doing with a reputable company with integrity and an outstanding work ethic! His bid to repair the leak site, correct faulty construction by the previous homeowner's bathroom re-modelling and replace pipe flashing was very reasonable. The work was done a week after the initial bid and Cris was at the house on-time and completed all three projects in a timely manner. He was professional and did quality work. There have been several rain storms since the repair work was done and there has been no leaking. In comparing Bliss Roofing with four other companies I called, they were the most professional, most reasonably-priced and had the highest level of professionalism, exhibiting honesty and a sterling work ethic. I will use this company for all future roofing issues and would recommend Bliss Roofing over any other company in Portland to anyone needing roof work.

Wow! I couldn't get any roofing companies to come out for months even after multiple tries. Guess it wasn't a big enough job. Then I ran across BLISS ROOFING when going through my home files seeing that I'd used them a few years ago. One request to BLISS and they called right back, scheduled an appointment, called on that day, arrived did the work and made it a real pleasant experience for my wife (and therefore me!). Wonderful! I went up on the roof and it looks super. Thanks!

It went very smooth, Bliss even made our time frame that we requested. They showed up on Monday morning, and job was complete by Wednesday. There was a problem with the vents But they took care of it in the same week! Very happy with Bliss roofing.

Scott Parks of Bliss Roofing gave us a thorough,detailed and competitive estimate. He climbed into the attic to check the plywood, which no other company did, and answered our questions about adding additional ventilation to the attic for a whole house fan. After getting several bids, Scott came by a second time, to clarify additional questions we had. The roofing team was hardworking, cheerful and left us a beautiful new roof. We had two other companies follow with new siding and guttering. After and quot;all the workand quot; was completed, Scott came by and got up on the roof to inspect the install. A little damage had been done by subsequent workers, that Bliss generously repaired. We received outstanding craftsmanship and service from Bliss Roofing and would make the same choice again.

Things went well from start to finish - COMPETITIVE estimate; estimator Chad was easy to work with, knowledgeable and very prompt with responses to any questions we had. Project started a couple of days ahead of schedule. Very professional crew that did the job in record time despite the extremely hot weather - punctual, hard working (12 hour days!), friendly, quiet and neat and took EXTREMELY good care of my extensive garden which was of great importance to me. Even neighbors commented how friendly and considerate the crew was. If you need a good roofing company, definitely give them a chance. Recommended them to my neighbor who also needs a roof.

Excellent and just outstanding people at Bliss Roofing. Scott was involved withthe initial vent installation and review on 7/19/11. The work was done quicklyand expertly. Then when I called 8 months later, on 4/4/12, because I noticed a single shingle that hadfallen off the roof. I assumed it was coming from the area where the roof vent was replaced,but I was wrong. I used only my line of sight, and had not climbed on the roof, as I am skitterish of climbing a sloped roof nor do I like heights. In fact, it turned out to be just an old, dilapidated, weather-beaten shingle, and it waslocated quite a distance from the new roof vent. MY MISTAKE!!! When the installer climbed the roof, he noticed the shingle had torn off from an old shingle panel. In fact, there were 3 panels,he said, that were in bad shape, and he replaced all 3 panels. Gary finished the job up easilywithin 10 minutes, and he told me there would be no charge. I am very appreciative of their generosity and dedication to their customers. Everyone I met from Bliss Roofing was kind. Both Scott and Gary are great guys. I would not hesitate for a moment to call Bliss Roofing to fix or repair our roof at any time, because of the trust I have in them.

They job went very well. They were prompt.

Bliss installed a new roof for us 1.5 years ago. They did a remarkable job! However, when we had a small leak in our garage this winter, I thought it might be the roof. It wasn't -- it turns out it was due to a failing window (and not the roof). However, when I initially called Bliss to ask them to come out and take a look because I mistakenly thought it was the roof, they immediately came out and quickly helped me find the source of the problem. They also helped put in a 'temporary fix' until I am able to properly address the window. I very much appreciated their help, courtesy and professionalism.

Requested numerous bids for re-roofing and this company was the lowest. Very professional and started sooner than I had expected. Timing was critical becasue of interior repairs needed from water leak that could not be started until roof leak fixed by re-roofing. They found the original leak source went to some detail to make sure this would not be a problem again. Because of the rain and ice the span of the project was longer than normal, but understandable.

After going through four other roofers to find and repair three leaks in an old style Spanish tile roof, and having them all tell me different reasons and solutions and costs for the leaks, including totally tearing out the large brick chimney, I finally found Bliss Roofing. They identified the three leaks...the main brick chimney needed new flashing; the woodstove chimney needed new flashing; and a small dormer needed to be reroofed. Because the total was more than I could afford at the time, they very nicely gave me the breakdown of each one, including photos taken to show me exactly what and where the work was needed. I opted to have both chimneys and quot;reflashedand quot;. The woodstove chimney is still perfect after two years. The brick chimney area later had a small leak from a broken tile and that was repaired within a day of my calling. Another leak (nothing to do with the original ones) from a broken tile was discovered this past fall and a repairman was out that afternoon. I more than recommend Bliss Roofing

A top rate job from beginning with Chad, who offered venting solutions, accurate timing estimates, recommendations and quick answers, a hard working, timely, clean work crew who managed the job site superbly.

I got three estimates for the job. The prices on all three were very close to the same. I chose Bliss because of the reccommendations on Angie's List, because I liked their detailed estimate, their salesperson was knowledgeable, they had been in business for several years, they were located fairly close. I was supplied with reading material so that I knew what to anticipate and how to be prepared, like removing objects in the house that might fall because of vibration and spreading tarps under skylights, etc. The crew arrived on time each day and were friendly and considerate. They worked efficiently and got a lot done each day. They started on Monday and finished before noon on Thursday. They cleaned up debris around the house each day and washed out gutters when they were through. They even checked after they had moved the drop box out of my driveway to be sure that there were no staples or nails left there.

We have a shed roof on the back patio that has leaked for a long time. We have had it fixed over the last 10 years no less than 4 times and each time the leak came back immediately. The last time I had the entire house re-roofed by a local company called Blueribbon Exteriors and they spent quite a bit of time on the shed room still . . . it leaked as soon as the rain came. Unfortunately, that company is out of business and unreachable so back to square one.Bliss came, gave us their professional opinion and options. We decided to just fix the problem and deal with a more permanent fix later because 1) money is an issue right now, 2) we wanted to give Bliss a test before going through a huge expense and being disappointed yet again.They were WONDERFUL! Like roofing ninjas, they came in, did the work, and were gone in less than a day. It rained like crazy for the last few days and there is not a single leak. As soon as we can we will have them back to do a total overhaul of the roof and get it right this time.

Our guest house needed reroofing and the job was complicated because the current roofing had not been vented and the design of the roof made this a bit of a challenge. Chad from Bliss Roofing was very professional and accurate with his bid. They were able to start within a week or two and the job was done well and came in right on the bid. The crew themselves did a good job and cleaned everything up when they finished. Would definitely recommend them to others.

The crew and dropbox arrived at about 7:00 am on the morning of the 17th as scheduled. Tearoff of old roof was completed by about noon, and the new roof materials were delivered and conveyered into position on the rooftop. The crew cleaned up the site as they proceded with the job. They were quick, clean, and efficient. The entire job of roofing my 1000-square-foot, 1-1-2 story bungalow was completed ijn 1-1/2 days. I have no complaints.

There were scheduling problems, so I never got to meet the representative in person. When I reviewed the estimate, the price came in 2nd, but many details were lacking. Due to time constraints, I chose to go with another company rather than seek clarification on the estimate.

They were very clear about their bid. If anything came up where they would add cost, they let me know. They showed up on time and completed the work as they said they would. They were very considerate of the customer. This was my first time using them and I would use them again.

Bliss Roofing is so responsive, professional and had an estimator dispatched to us shortly after we called. The work was done within a few days and the installer was amazing! We can't say enough good things about Bliss and when the time comes to replace the roof, we will be calling them!

The owner of Bliss Roofing Inc. Company was a very nice fellow. He was very responsive to our questions. That was good. He and his crew did a good job in all aspect. I wish the price had been less though. I would use them again in the future.

I obtained multiple bids. Bliss bid was very competitive, but not the lowest. I chose them because of Angie's List review, scheduling, shingle manufacturer certification, BBB/CCB review and the excellent customer service provided by Chad, who managed the entire process from bid through final inspection. Chad answered all my questions and updated the bid to reflect our discussions. I did a bunch of research on-line at manufacturer (Certainteed, GAF, Malarkey, Owens Corning and Pabco), supplier (Allied Building Products, Oregon Roofers Supply, Roofline Supply and Woodfeathers) and roofing (Bliss, Cascade, CCand L, Interstate and Roof Life of Oregon) web sites. I chose shingles based on favorable "Consumer Reports" review and the "look" I was trying to achieve. Ask lots of questions, get everything in writing (esp. for necessary repairs found after tear-off) and make sure attic venting is adequate (insufficient venting can take years off expected life of roof). They started the job on April 11th as promised. The crew, led by Primo, were quiet, professional and hard-working (I was here for several days of the job and there were no complaints from my neighbors). The tear-off took most of the first day and they started re-roofing on day 2. Chad visited a few times during the job to check with the crew and follow-up with me. It rained intermittently during the job, but the crew placed tarps to protect the house during the day and overnight. The whole job took 4 days. There was a large dumpster on-site for the duration of the job, they cleaned up at the end of every day and they removed the dumpster the day after the job was complete and did a final cleanup. I met with Chad early the following week for the final inspection and a review of the contract deliverables. Based on my experience with Chad and all the Bliss Roofing employees involved in this job, I would not hesitate to recommend them.

They did an excellent job. The workers were very conscientious. They did a good cleanup and seemed to be very good in their workmanship. The man that did the estimate came back and checked with us several times. Overall, the work that they did was very good. The price was comparable. We would use them again in the future.
