Debra, has been very thorough in her cleaning, and has given me great tips regarding products to use. She is very personable, and gives that extra personal touch that is hard to find with the larger cleaning companies.
Description of Work: Monthly for 8 months now at $80 a month. Private housecleaning every two weeks.

Debra performed a first time housekeeping service for me. She has been working for a friend of mine for over 2 years. He finally convinced me to give her a try. I am not sorry I did. When I got home today I was amazed at how clean my bathrooms and kitchens were! They were pretty dirty and I hadn't cleaned them for a long time. I was actually able to see my white shower floor again and my tiles were sparkling. My home smelled very nice and my cat was calm as can be. I was happy because I asked Debra not to let my cat out. My floors were also extremely clean. Everything was in its place as it should have been. I was able to walk around with my white socks on and they were still clean at the end of the night. I am extremely happy with the service I received and will continue my cleanings with Debra
Description of Work: I wanted my house cleaned. I'm a single guy who doesn't know how to deep clean. I asked Debra to do what she usually does in my friend's home. I also asked her not to let my cat out. She deep cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen, removed all the cobwebs from the ceilings, dusted the window sills, dusted the blinds, swept and mopped the floors, vacuumed the rugs, and dusted all of the furniture.

Started using this company in late 2008. I was one of her earlier clients and service was good. She asked if I would be a referral and I was glad to help her grow her young business. She did give out my personal email (I had previously OK'd my phone #) without asking which bothered me but it wasn't too big of a deal. The work was fine, not great. There were a few annoying things that were constantly done, such as leaving various items unplugged and putting items that were on counters inside of cupboards or elsewhere that I would have to hunt down afterwards. Overall though, it was a fair value that I was pleased with. Then, over the spring and summer of 2009, service started to drop. There were a few last minute reschedules for inappropriate reasons (new boyfriend wants to spend time with her, had important new prospective customers with big houses that she really wanted to service asap.) I let these slide as I knew she didn't realize it was inappropriate. Once she called the morning of cleaning day, and involved me with her attempt to hire an employee (how she really wanted to hire this new person before she took another job, so she would come over with the new person to my house and tell her what to do before Debra would leave for another job.) I had to tell her that while I would be fine with an employee cleaning my home, I was not OK with a brand new, unscreened and untrained person being in my home alone. There was a string of rescheduled cleaning dates after I had been promised a steady time and day. Then, from July 8 through August 26, there were 3 days where she didn't show up. One personal issue, one dog to the vet and one unexplained. Two days before the latest missed appointment, I informed her that I could only afford monthly service, as opposed to the semi-monthly I had been receiving. She explained the need for a higher rate due to things needing a deeper cleaning and I fully understood and approved it. Then, after she missed the last appointment, she sent me an email as follows: "Hi, Unfortunately I was unable to make it between 9 and 9:30 this morning. I ussually do not take on once per month customers and in order to keep cleaning for you I will need a way to gain access to your home when you are not there. All of my other customers are flexible and don't mind if they get scheduled in the morning or the afternoon. If this doesn't work for you then please look for help at another cleaning service. Sorry for the inconvenience." I had always either left my door unlocked if a morning appointment or would come home and unlock for her if an afternoon appointment. The day of the last cancellation, she knew the house was unlocked and accessible. I do not appreciate how in her email she in effect blamed me for her flakiness. There is nothing unreasonable in asking for a set time and day and I was very flexible and accommodating with her the entire term of her service. It was exceptionally tacky of her to miss appointments and then put the burden on the customer.

I remember this particular customer. I repeatedly asked the Member if he was satisfied with his cleaning and he said yes. The Member did miss or change a few of his appointments during our time of business. I missed 1 or 2 due to illness. I did ask the Member if he would be willing to take a new employee that I trained and he said no so I continued to clean his home. The main issue here was that I had to meet the Member at his home. In the end he would have me call him at work when I got there and come home and let me in, or I would have to time my showing up just right in the morning to get in. After it became inconvenient for me to wait on him and wait for him to return from work to let me in; I asked the Member for a key. Customers do give me keys to their homes for access, garage codes, and even security codes. After not being able to get access without the Member being there I had to end his service. I ended the Member's service and he was upset. It is too bad that he penalized me when I gave him great cleaning. Thanks everyone. Debra Nicoson - Owner
