MEDFORD MOVING & STORAGE INC- North American Lines

The delivery of our household was terrible. We were loaded and stored in April. Called for our goods early November. Finally received notice that our things were on the truck headed to us in Dec. WHEN the driver rolled up Dec 9 to unload, he told us that he did not have all of our goods. They had left (on purpose) 35 items. We did not get these until Jan 25. The Ft. Wayne, IN office was unconcerned, unresponsive. The local agent was ineffective. The driver was probably the most at fault as he knew the weight and volume to be picked up, This driver kept trying to get me to let him repair damaged furniture. The company should not have allowed the driver to pick up a partial load; they knew the volume and weight for six months and they know what is on a dispatched truck. Oh yes, we received the billing for the $16,000 move before the balance of our goods were delivered. Storage for our goods was $500/month. The Florida NAVL agent would not pick up the empty boxes despite the MMS agent saying they would. I would strongly recommend NOT using North American/Allied van lines. We have moved nationally 4+ times. This was the worst. Google complaints on this company. We only had the usual breakage and lost or stolen items. Hire the man who owns the truck if you can.

I would highly recommend this company for all your moving needs. I had chosen a different company at first...then because I was concerned about the amount I was going to be charged I called Medford Moving and Storage and found out that the 1st company was gouging me by almost $600 and they were not legal in Oregon. The owner of Medford Moving and Storage shared some very valuable information with me and I am eternally grateful for his candid information. If I were to move again, and I hope not any time soon, I would absolutely call these folks. I give them an A+ for their overall professionalism, friendliness and, timeliness.

Movers showed up on time, packed furniture and belongings into truck (including a piano), drove to the two destinations, and unpacked and placed all items as directed. In all ways the two men did exactly what was requested, and all in one day.

In the beginning, the service was good. I was told by Sean, to just sit back, relax and they would do everything. Let's just preface it to say, that I'm glad I packed and transported some of my own stuff. First, there was no contract signed until the day the movers were and quot;packingand quot;. I think this should have been done ahead of time so that we understood everything clearly. Second, I guess when someone says and quot;sit back and relax, we'll take care of everything, I should have known better and observed them packing all of my belongings. They took my folded clothes off the shelves and just threw them into a wardrobe box. There was no care taken of my clothes at all. Third, they and quot;packedand quot; a box of glass, stoneware and electronics all together in a 5.0 cu ft box, they call a and quot;dish packand quot;. Now, while this was labeled and quot;dish packand quot; there was NOTHING about it that was like a dish pack I've seen and used before. The box had NO paper surrounding my dishes or electronics and therefore, at least 5 items in the box were broken. Fourth, the movers whined and bitched about how heavy an Armoir was. Last time I checked this is your job...just do it already and quit your complaining. Fifth, they dented my brand new, out of the box refrigerator. They are reckless and careless. Because they came and had us sign the contract when the and quot;packersand quot; were there, we inadvertantly signed in the wrong spot which only covers us at a minimum. So, needless to say, we won't get anything to replace our items they so recklessly packed and moved. When the refrigerator was dented, no one at the local office was available. I must have sent 2-3 emails, 2-3 phone calls and a text. Then when I spoke with Sean, he was using industry lingo. Now, I don't know about you but if I'm not in your industry, how am I supposed to know what you are talking about? Never use industry lingo when talking to someone. When my husband called, Sean was not very nice and kept repeating about the and quot;insuranceand quot; of .60 cents per pound. Now, he did say that and quot;it's rare that any of your stuff will need to be replacedand quot; so, we trusted him!! Wrong move... They also contract out if you are moving interstate. Which I was NOT made aware of. I called and spoke to Colleen I believe her name is. She is the owner and asked her specifically if they were going to use movers from her office and she said and quot; yes, all of the movers are from here. We don't contract outand quot;. I gave her my name and address so, she should have know who and what job it was for and I asked her specifically about using other movers. They DO contract out. Oh, it's still under the and quot;North Americanand quot; name but, it's not the movers you thought you were dealing with. This has has been a terrible experience and after the fact, I think I I should have used PODS and done it myself. I would NEVER recommend Medford Moving and Storage. They just take your money and do nothing else on your behalf as a customer and they have terrible customer service.

This organization is great. From the informative bidding process to the rescheduling of the move date, staff at this company were very helpful and responsive. The movers themselves were first class, doing careful, efficient work.
