Forrest Construction

We began the process calling contractors and no one had time or would return our call. I called Forrest Construction and spoke with Lindsey the Owner and explained our situation with our bathroom and floors. When others had no time Linsdey made to come over that day and look at the bathroom to see what was needed. Due to damaged walls, sub flooring and showers walls/tile that water had got in behind a full gut and remodel was needed. Impressed with his communication, price to do the remodel and make it 100% better than what we had there was no need to look any further. Less than 24 hrs later Forrest Construction was at our home and completing repairs in record time and honestly exceeding our expectations on the entire process. He completed the job sonner then promised and left us with our dream bathroom my entire family is thrilled with. We were so impressed with the service we received we had Forrest Construction add new vinyl windows to our entire home and also a new sliding back porch vinyl glass sliding door with all new trim inside and out making our home look even better and save us a ton of money with heating our home now having better and modern windows. I can't wait to have them back and can't recommend them enough to others that may be in the same position looking to have any home repairs done affordably ad with someone you can trust! Perfect! All work done professionally and in a timely manner. We are very happy with the remodel.

Linzey is superb and so is his work. He is a perfectionist in a good way and takes pride in getting the job done with the best materials allowed by the client’s budget. He kept an eagle eye on all the subs working on the project and he uses only the best skilled from painters to electricians to tilers to granite installers. I wouldn’t consider working with any other contractor. I think Linzey is the best.

Experience was great from our initial phone conversation requesting a bid for bathroom remodel right through completion of the project. Once a start date was established, the remodel began as we expected. Linzey's subcontrators came when scheduled and were very professional. We had no surprises during any of the process. Seriously, we couldn't be happier with the end result. Linzey was very professional, always cheerful, kept us informed of every step of the remodel. We would definitely contact Linzey again if we decide to remodel any other rooms.

The repairs were done in a timely manner. All of the people doing the work seemed to go the extra step to get the job done right. My wife and daughter were satisfied with the results (not an easy thing to do!). I will call Forrest Construction again whenever I have another project. I highly recommend Forrest Construction!

We did a remodel in our Master Bathroom. We kept the bathtub and faucets and we wanted to be sure the "remodel" did not look like an add on but was always part of the bathroom. We took out the Corian counter top, replaced it and put in new sinks. We had our fiberglass shower form taken out and had it replaced with a larger tile shower. Forrest's tile man ( Joe) was excellent. An unexpected problem came up with the tile I had selected as the backsplash behind the sinks. Together we brainstormed a variety of ideas and Joe came up with the perfect solution, which made the tile flow around the room. Forrest coordinated all the various subcontractors so our shower was finished in 4 weeks. They were on time and called if they were going to be late, they cleaned up each night. We are very happy we our "New" to us Master Bathroom.

You get what you pay for and he may not be the cheapest. But it was so worth it! Our master bath is amazing, a showpiece. Linzey wasn't only always punctual, he was usually early for all appointments and daily work. He was on site every day working right along with his subcontractors. He was willing to do all of the other little projects that came up (we just bought our new house and there were tons of "others") like installing new door hardware, fixing doors that didn't close or even putting in new ones. He was willing to take on extra projects like replacing sliding doors and bad flooring. He was upfront about prices and worked quickly and efficiently but didn't cut corners. His work was finished professionally, even all the minor details. His subs were great: very personable, professional, clean, and trustworthy. They were there every day working hard and if there was ever an issue Linzey took care of it immediately to my standards. They were all easy to get a hold of and Linzey was very responsive both on the phone and by email. If our opinions differed he was willing to work on a solution until we were both happy. For you women out there, it was like having a house of handy husbands gladly taking care of the honey-do lists and finishing all the projects on time just how you want them.

Working with Linzey at Forrest Construction was a pleasure. His crew is always in a great mood and they all work well together.

Once we agreed to the estimate, Linzey provided us with a contract and we began. Linzey always notified us in advance about scheduling and always came when promised. His subcontractors were also on time, charming and professional. He has created a team of reliable and skilled professionals who like their work and seemed to like us! We had a tight timeline and when the flooring person was unavailable, Linzey stepped in and made sure the job was completed. He is particularly good at seeing to details and resolving unique problems which must arise on every job. Each person who came to do a job added to a lovely outcome--from cabinets to countertop, from tiling to electrics. (We missed everyone buzzing in and out so much that we invited everyone and their families for a picnic to celebrate their work!) We lived in the house during the remodel and Linzey was particularly sensitive to making sure we were alerted to what was coming so that we would be prepared. We will tackle the bathrooms this winter and are looking forward to seeing the entire crew again!

The entire project went very smoothly and on time. We did a lot of planning and decision making ahead of time so there were not any major delays. As in every project, there were some small surprises but these were dealt with very professionally and in an efficient manor. One of the best parts about working with Linzey is that he has chosen a terrific set of sub contractors. They were all a pleasure to work with, arrived when expected, were extremely respectful and did a wonderful job. I am very pleased with the final result of the project. It is exactly what I had in mind and because of the very high quality of the work I know that I will love it for many years to come.

Linzy arrived on time and was reasonably polite. He then asks if the home was purchased as a foreclosure or short sale. I respond it was a foreclosure, but only because the previous owner had died. He actually had a look of distaste on his face. He then asks what I paid for the property. I told him. While walking from the bath to the kitchen he comments about the original wood flooring and states there has been foundation settlement. I say I am aware and that the inspector verified that has been remedied and is of no matter as I am not asking him to do any work in that area. He tells me that he does not believe what the inspector reported and that I should not either. I show him the baths and explain I want new tub surrounds in both, a new sink in one. In the kitchen, I show him the cabinets I want replaced and that I want countertops. He measures the upper cabinets and advises me they are not code... who cares, I want them replaced! He then tells me that he would not do this kitchen for less than 70k. Mind you, this is for perhaps 12 ft of lower cabinets and 8 ft of upper cabinets with countertops, nothing else. Then he turns and asks what year the house was built and states that based on the age he would most likely have to do asbestos and lead paint abatement. I advise I had the inspector specifically test for that and no abatement is needed. He again tells me he would not trust the inspector report. He then asks if I have contacted other contractors for bids to which I reply "of course". He then says "well, you probably wouldn't want to pay my prices if you're talking to other contractors". I say I am not oppossed to paying for the best job I can get and while I do have a budget (which is by no means unreasonable) I am looking for a medium price for the cabinetry. He then states that he just would not be interested in giving a bid on this job becase it wasn't high end enough for him to do and his phone is ringing off the hook with jobs. I thank him for coming and apologise for "wasting" his time to which he responds "It doesn't matter I was coming to Ashland anyway"

The work was quite well done. Linsey partnered with a carpenter to install a laminated beam to support the very large roof and built a knee wall to support a part of the structure so it was all on the same level. The tricky part was reinforcing the attachment of the lean-to roof to the side of the shop building, and I feel it was done well. It was not until a couple years later I found out that there should have been a permit issued for the work. I feel he should have known that and let me know. It wasn't a beautiful job, but it is strong.

Our master bedroom and bath didn't function well for us with it's unique and dated layout. We hired Linzey for the remodel after reading all the great reviews on Angie's list. In the bedroom, Linzey and his crew removed a couple of extra closets that we didn't need that were taking up a large part of the floor space, making the usable space quite small. After the closets were gone, they took out the lower ceiling where they were located and vaulted it to match the already vaulted ceiling in the rest of the room. They relocated the bedroom door and the door to the walk-in closet and all the windows and sliding door were replaced. In the bath we had an unwanted old tub removed, had the shower enlarged, relocated the toilet and had a new double vanity installed. New tile was placed for both the shower and floor and new lights and fan were installed. The end result was better than I imagined. Everything turned out so well and Linzey and all the guys he works with made the whole experience as pleasant at possible. We have so much more we want to do to our home and we will definitely have Linzey and his crew back to do the work.

Linzey was awesome to deal with. It was our first remodel experience ever and it went extremely well. Everything was done according to a carefully scheduled plan and Linzey and his crew were there promptly every scheduled day, and they worked efficiently and very quickly. Linzey is very easy to deal with, always listens to your requests and literally took care of every extra request we made. We were so pleased with all of his subs, who were equally professional, skilled, friendly, and hard working. They were able to solve any issue that came up and were a pleasure to deal with. Linzey Forrest has strong work ethics; his work exceeded our expectations, and everything he did is to our complete satisfaction. We feel like he went above and beyond the project and took care of everything, plus extras! We are so pleased with the outcome. We look forward to using him for our next renovation project! We would highly recommend him.

It went well, however one of the providers was extremely slow and I would not want him back. The painter

Linzey Forrest replaced our aging back porch with a larger deck, working through extreme heat. I was pleased that Linzey himself came and brought a carpenter with him. Two workers got the job done quickly. After trying out the deck we found that the railing was two high. Linzey came back and, for a small additional sum, took the beautiful deck apart to lower the railing to our specifications.

I was impressed by Linzey Forrest's responsiveness and attention to detail, and appreciated the suggestions and options he gave. He always called at least a day ahead to let me know when someone was coming and his sub-contractors are second to none, not only the quality of their work, but also their personalities and positive attitudes. It was an enjoyable experience, at least as much as that sort of thing can be. The process took longer than anticipated, but that was due to a variety of reasons, not all of them Linzey's responsibility. I am really pleased with the results, it's beautiful! I unhesitatingly recommend Forrest Construction.

I contacted Forrest Construction about a master bathroom remodel. Linzey Forrest was very responsive, provided a comprehensive estimate and answered my subsequent questions. While I feel the job would have been very well done by this contractor, I ultimately hired another one.

VERY PROFESSIONAL. We are not sure if we are going to proceed with the project but with the advice and information given by this contractor it has given us what we needed to decide. We were VERY impressed with his direct answers and honesty and will DEFINITELY use this contractor for any/all future projects. My plan was to remove a soaker tub and have a jacuzzi tub installed. We talked about everything from size and how it would effect the rest of the bathroom as far as demolition to matching the existing tile. We did not request a quote as there is still decisions to made before we get to that step. Just with this first meeting we will recommend this company to any/all.

I agree with all of the comments here on Angie's list - Linzey was truly wonderful to work with! I have never done a remodel and was very intimidated by the idea of hiring a contractor. From our first meeting, I felt very comfortable with Linzey and knew that he was someone who would listen to what I wanted and make it happen rather than try to talk me into something he wanted to do. He spent many hours researching my project, hiring an engineer, architect, kitchen designer and cabinet maker before ever signing a contract with me. He was very committed to my remodel and to helping me have the best outcome possible. We signed a contract stating my work would be done by a certain date for a specific amount, and despite changes and challenges, he delivered 1 day early and on budget! I truly loved all of his subs and was very comfortable having them in my home. They were always here when they were supposed to be and they were extremely competent. As others have mentioned, Linzey has a great sense of humor, has very high standards for the work that is done, keeps perfect track of all aspects of the job, is a great communicator and is someone who really cares about his clients and their satisfaction. I am so happy with my finished remodel and feel so grateful that I found Linzey.

He came an looked at the project and decided he couldn't do it but thought he knew someone that could build and install the doors. He said that he would get back to me, but has not.

He kept me posted and got the job done quickly. I would definitely use him again.

Linzey took on the challenging task of remodeling my water damaged, badly worn 1929 bathroom. After gutting it down to the bones, he had to rebuild the floor and one wall, reverse a door, all severely out of alignment. He replaced plumbing and wiring, adding all new fixtures, installing a huge shower, new custom made vanity, and cabinets, vintage style medicine cabinet and new floor tile. He even figured out how I could keep the shower window by making it smaller and wrapping it with cultured marble to keep out moisture, something that had always been a problem.Linzey also offered welcome advice on design colors and materials. Linzey is easy to work with, patient, with a sense of humor;he's all about pleasing the client and doing a high quality job.He was well organized and took care of problems, details promptly. All the subcontractors were very polite and competent as well. They made a stressful situation very tolerable. Special kudos to John Hastings for the beautiful cabinetry and Curt Burgin for his meticulous painting. . Except for added time, expense rebuilding wall and floor, the final charges matched Linzey's bid. I am very satisfied with the end result and will enjoy my luxurious bathroom for years. I would definitely recommend Linzey and his crew to anyone needing a talented, responsible and honest contractor.
