Ask them what how they explain a $6,000 quote to a widow for a water heater?

I had the company send someone out on 2/13/24 to replace a food waste disposal system that had reached its end of life. Roth would not provide any kind of a potential price range over the phone, but we currently have a service contract with them for our HVAC system and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. In person I was quoted over $900 to perform the service. The technician either could not, or would not, give me a break down of the cost of the part or labor. I then showed them that the needed part costs $118 at Home Depot with a charge of $185 for installation services. I don't understand how Roth could possibly justify charging 3 times the going market rate for this part and service. What's even more unethical is the fact that after quoting this ridiculous price, they expected to receive a service fee of $114 just for showing up to provide this outrageous quote. I refused to give them a dime due to these questionable business practices and the technician had to call their supervisor to have the fee waved. I understand that a service charge is normal, however when it's paired with an extreme over markup for the proposed part/service, they are creating a situation in which a person will recognize the inflated price and feel forced to fork over $114 just to send them out the door. Needless to say, I no longer trust in Roth's ability to provide products and services at fair market value. Fortunately I was able to advocate for myself and I am only out my time in this case, however I now question how much they may have overcharged me for past parts and services over the last several years.

It went well, they did an excellent job. I would recommend them.

When the repairman showed up, he clearly knew his stuff. He was very familiar with the control board, and found that the previous installer had mis-wired the connections. In addition we had him clean the air conditioner's air intake system. We are very pleased with their work.

We were very pleased with them. We will have them back to do some additional work. The man who came out was very friendly and helpful. I liked his general approach to our problem. He was a good representative of the company in terms of his demeanor. It was a very positive experience. They were really good. I thought their price was quite reasonable.
