We were very happy with our main bathroom remodel in summer of 2023. We found Ron on Angi after several attempts to find a contractor through other friends in the area who others had used in the past. Unlike other contractors, Ron called us back and showed up to our scheduled appointment to talk about what we wanted to do. He was very open and seemed interested in what WE wanted to do. He also offered suggestions that could work with our remodel as well. He provided us a quote that was timely, but slightly higher than we thought we would have to pay. Ron collaborated with us to make our budget more reasonable for us. We chose him as our contractor after this. Ron's process with finish selection was very organized as he had go-to places for each selection for our bathroom (ie. cabinets, flooring, tile, bathroom hardware, etc.) We liked Ron and his team as they provided regular updates and timelines of how the process works and what would come next in the process. And THEY SHOWED UP when they said they would. We had only minor hick ups during the process and the everything turned out amazing. We are so happy with our fresh, new bathroom. We would definitely hire Ron and his team again for future projects.

I would highly recommend Ron. Our project was quite ambitious: complete redo of our guest bathroom (new vanity, shower, tile on wall and floors), redo of two-person master shower, and new kitchen island with installation of induction cooktop and downdraft hood. Ron is without question the best contractor that I have ever worked with. He is detail oriented, a good communicator, VERY knowledgeable (he’s been doing this for decades), and very obviously committed to doing a good job and making sure that people are happy with the result. He’s also a genuinely nice person to work with. Being a detail-oriented person myself I had lots of questions for him throughout the process. He always took the time to explain things to me and if needed alter how he was doing things to fit our needs. He even took the tine to answer other questions about the house that weren’t related to the job. The quality of the renovation depends in large part on the quality of the subcontractors. Ron works with a set group of contractors / companies (plumbers, tile installers, furniture makers, etc.) which he has developed a close relationship over the years. I have consistently been impressed with the quality of their work and they are all genuinely nice/reliable people. It gets tiring over the weeks having strangers in and out of your house and everyone to a person that he works with has been a nice person, obviously committed to their work but also happy to stop and explain exactly what they’re doing and why. I think it’s a testament to the relationship that Ron has built with these contractors that many of them have told me privately and unbidden how much they respect Ron and enjoy working for him (or in the case of companies to which we have been referred have smiled when we told them who had sent us and told us that we were in good hands). One final note. It is apparently common practice for tile workers to pour off their tailings into people’s back yards, despite the fact that this practice is banned by the EPA and illegal in some cities (it is in West Linn where I checked). Given our extensive gardens I balked at this; Ron was surprised that I had an issue with it, but then worked to come up with a workaround that we could all agree on. I’m just putting this in so that if you care about this (it will definitely affect the plants in your yard and also can contaminate the ground water) you can request that whoever you work with develop a different strategy (we let it settle in barrels, poured off the cleanish water into some gravel, and sent the rest of the goop to be disposed of).

Ron and his crew were wonderful on all counts. I get very stressed about this sort of thing and Ron dealt with my self-imposed issues very quickly and gracefully. he always got back to me promptly.

We purchased all the materials and Ron expertly put it all together. As there are in any remodeling project, problems arose in the process of taking out the existing tile and wood, but Ron is very creative and persistent. Everything came out beautifully done, on time and with minimal disruption to the flow of life in our house. He's a mensch!

We bought the tub, fixtures, and tile, based on Ron's expert counsel. The work was done on time, to schedule, smoothly, beautifully and with the friendliness of him and his subcontractors. R3J Residential Services did an excellent job! We previously hired Ron (owner) to remodel our master bathroom in 2019 and he and his subs did an excellent job. When we decided to update our guest bathroom and utility room (plus some other work), we only wanted Ron to do it as we were extremely confident of the high quality of his work and his reasonable prices. We did not even get a second quote from another contractor because we knew he would do a great job and his price would be fair. Everything came out perfect - the quality and installation of the cabinets, countertops, and flooring were excellent. Ron is an extremely good project manager; his subs were always on time and he kept to the schedule he had proposed at the beginning of the project. Ron is very trustworthy and he cleans up at the end of every day during the project. He is the best contractor I have ever worked with on a major project in my house. I would recommend him in a heartbeat on any home project and would definitely hire him again for any remodeling/update to my home.

My project was ultimately a kitchen remodel, but started when a leaky refrigerator ruined my floor. When it came time to find a contractor, I joined the cadre of friends who had contacted many contractors with no return calls. Ron of R3J Residential Services was one who did. Working with R3J Residential Services was a stellar experience. Ron had suggestions when I was hesitant about what to do next, but always deferred to my wishes. His business practices are very transparent. I always knew what the next step was, and when it was going to happened. I found his prices reasonable, and so did my insurance company. He occasionally offered cost-cutting suggestions when he knew I had a tight budget, but he never "cut corners" or did less than quality work. I appreciated the care that his subcontractors used in my home. More important to me, I appreciate his ethics and I had no issues with him working in my home when I was not there. I would hire R3J again in a heartbeat should the need ever arise.

I am so blessed to have found Ron (R3J) on Angi’s. He is a person of high integrity, very personable and professional at the same time. It was clear from the very start that his priority is customer satisfaction! When I wanted to make some changes midway through the project, changes that involved other companies, he took the extra time and effort to make the changes. It would have been much easier for him to tell me it was “too late.” It was very obvious he had a very good relationship with these companies to be able to make those changes happen on very short notice. That in itself was a little mini miracle because any businesses involved with home remodeling are super busy these days! I just can’t help contrasting R3J with another larger company that I talked to about my project. My experience with them was so different than it was with Ron. They quoted me a price and when I asked if there were ways I could make it fit within my budget they basically told me “no.” On the other hand, Ron worked and reworked the proposal until it fit within my budget. He reiterated a number of times that he wanted me to love my new kitchen and would make that happen within my budget. And he did!

Ron and his team did an amazing job on our master bathroom. They were professional, timely, and transparent with all pieces involving the remodel. Very organized and communication was great throughout the process. The caliber of his work exceeded my expectations and he comes highly recommended. I will definitely be contacting them again next time I need work done on my house.

Fabulous!!! Ron was very professional, reliable with communication, stayed within our budget and created exactly what we hoped for. I really appreciated that there was no upselling pressure at any point. Misc projects along with the bathroom remodel were all done as expected and on time. We will definitely use R3J again. We started our kitchen remodel a few days AFTER we flew to Iceland to elope. We left our house in Ron's hands and while there were delays that were out of our control, Ron made the experience less stressful for us so that we could focus on our elopement and trip. We had hoped that our kitchen would be done before our post-elopement dinner that we hosted at our house, but unfortunately the kitchen could not be completed in time. However, Ron made sure our kitchen was as put together as possible for our party even though he had to undo a lot of things to finish up the rest of the project (countertops, backsplash, etc) afterwards. He even worked on a Saturday to finish up our kitchen so that we could go back to normal life! We still have a lot of projects that we want to do and would hire Ron again. He is responsive, communicates clearly and is punctual. I appreciated that he was welcoming of and answered all of the questions that I had.

The decision to remodel carries with it a big commitment of time, energy, and money. There are many choices you will have to make, but the most important decision is who to hire as your contractor. From the first outreach, to the quote, and work order modifications during the remodel of our kitchen, Ron was transparent, respectful, and worked closely with us to ensure we understood the constraints and opportunities given our kitchen footprint and wishlist. Our kitchen remodel involved wall demolition, exterior and interior door replacements, as well as full flooring, cabinets, countertops, and appliance installation. Any delays were communicated as soon as they were known and inevitably were due to shipping delays, not the on site work. His subcontractors were friendly and very helpful. We are already planning future projects on the house (our 10 year plan) and looking forward to working with Ron again.
