Jerome stayed in touch via text messaging. He was the only service provider that we called, out of five, that answered his phone. He set up an appointment for the next day and showed up promptly at the allotted time.

Fantastic, especially since he honestly told me a new furnace wasn't necessary and what to do to resolve the issue. This happened several months ago and I have been meaning to report what a wonderful experience it was to have such honesty in dealing with a company. I am sorry it is late in coming, but I felt they were so honest that others would want to know my experience with this company.

Spoke with Jerome and made an appt for 4pm the same day. He asked me to call back and leave a message on his VM with the location information and contact info. Left info. Did not show for the appt or call to inform of that he would miss it. No contact at all. It would be easy just to make a quick call and explain why A-1 was missing the appt and to reschedule. Guess business is too good and customer service doesn't matter!

Didn't want to come down to Salem. His ad said from Salem to Portland.

After inspecting the problem told us that we needed to replace the air conditioner. In follow up phone calls, Including questions relating to rebates and NW Natural Gas issues, there was a bit of negative talk about some of the processes. I ended up with a negative feeling, so went elsewhere to get the actual replacements done.

,After having my furnace serviced for several years by someone else, and having nothing but trouble every time after the service, where I had to recall those guys, I finally looked for an other company on Angie's List. It certainly paid off. The old furnace (only 9 yrs. old) had been so damaged, that it had to be replaced. I called A-1, made an appointment for the next day, and had a new furnace installed the following day. Those guys did not kid around. The worked that day until the job was done. I now have heat and am very satisfied.

Mr. McBride responded quickly to our call. He was thorough and persistent in locating the problem.and explained what he was doing every step of the way. He had to purchase parts and so returned the next day to complete the project. Two day later, I thought we had a re-occurrence. I called him and left message. Even though he was on vacation, he returned the call the same day and told me how to remedy the problem. The problem was not related to the previous work. Mr. Mc Bride was courteous, friendly, and professional in all his dealings with us. He seemed to enjoy explain what he was doing and teaching a homeowner how to trouble shoot. I highly recommend him.

They were prompt and reasonable.

They were punctual and here most of the day. They explained everything to me. I couldn't afford the heat pump right now for AC but they went ahead and set it up so that it was ready for when I did purchase it. They showed me how to do everything. I will not look around next time but call them directly. They even did some carpentry work to make the new furnace fit. They were genuinely friendly. I showed them that I would want to make my large garage a family room and they sold me a furnace that would be large enough for that expansion.

They were prompt. They came to do repair work and ended up having to give us an estimate for replacing our furnace. I feel that we got a good deal.

He not only cleaned the vent but also showed me why I had had problems with lint build-up. He showed me what was holding the vent in an open position and fixed the problem. He noticed that I also have central air and gave me some tips for better performance. I appreciated the thoroughness with the vent and the extra tips with my air conditioner.

Excellent service. Very professional. You would never know they were in the house except that the ducts now sparkle. They didn't even complain about all of the construction debris they had to remove in order to do their job.
