My first concern was when I observed them spraying the waterproofing over dirt and debris on the walls and footings. The walls were not prepped properly, there were gaps in their product where the wall wasn't patched or a loose piece of concrete was left on the wall. They sprayed right over gravel and nails on the footings, etc. They said they had been doing it for 20yrs with no problems. The manufacturer of the waterproofing confirmed no complaints. When they added warm-n-dri board insulation ( a poor insulator if it has water percolating through it) they waited too long to apply it and it wouldn't stick to the membrane so they nailed it to the walls. Of course, the nails compromised the whole membrane and were rusting already by the time I saw them so would have eventually left holes every where. Also, they ran out of the thick warm-n-dri board that I paid extra for because they didn't order enough. So, without asking, they substituted multiple layers of thinner warm-n-dri board at still didn't add up to the original thickness I had paid for. 3 months later we had multiple wet spots in the basement. Jim came out quickly to look at the problem but wouldn't accept responsibility and said it was my drain pipes that weren't draining properly. I thought it was water "proofing" not water resistant as long as drains were perfect. If drains worked perfectly, there'd be no need for water proofing. Anyway, when I had the whole basement dug up and Dowers job removed by another company, they said it came off in large sheets. Dowers is cheaper than some but more expensive in the long run when it doesn't work as they can't do their job right. Mediocre product. Lousy installation.
Description of Work: Jim and Tammy Dowers applied our water proofing on our subterranean basement of our new house. Approx 2000 sqft of tuff-n-dri spray on water proofing and warm-n-dri board.
