Excellent outcome. Considerable time was spent identifying specific needs, generator sizes, and options. Plan was developed with estimate. Work was initiated as scheduled and completed timely. Installation included trenching, electrical panel modifications, transfer switch installations, generator siting/installation/testing and final validation of all functions. Very professional. A real pleasure. Delighted with process and outcome. Big Thanks to Summit Power Systems!

Terry the owner conducted an installation of electrical service to a new custom outdoor spa. In this first bill he overcharged stating 10 hrs for a job he quoted as 3 hours. Much of the time he spent talking on his cell phone and wasting time. Part of the job was to install a timer so that the spa wasn't on 24 hrs a day. When I paid this first bill he stated that the timer would be installed for free as it would only take a little time. I have pursued him for over 2 months now to install the timer and he keeps stating that he will be right over. I wait for him, but he never appears. Because the timer hasn't been installed my electricity bill as more than doubled with the last bill coming in at over $300 for the month.

Response from Summit Electric Inc
As I stated to the BBB, this problem can be solved if he will get a permit from the city of Bend Oregon and have an inspection of the custom hot tub installation. I will go by the recommendation of the electrical inspector. I gave him an estimate of 3hrs to hook up his spa. However, this didn't include the time and cost to dig a ditch approx. 140 ft long and 18" deep through rocks to the spa location. He asked if I knew someone who could dig the trench. I called and got 2 high school kids to dig the trench. This part of the job has nothing to do with the estimate. He also stated that hooking up the timer was a part of the estimate - it was additional work. When first contacted by him he said the contractor who installed the spa was supplying the timer. I was just to hook up to the 60 amp GFI breaker in the sub-panel, bringing power from the house. As I was hooking up the conductors to the sub-panel I noticed that the electrical installation was not done by qualified personnel and that is why I balked at hooking up an installation that hadn't been inspected and was not UL listed.
