Not well, didn't use him if he still is around
Description of Work: Didn't even bother to return my call. Very unprofessional phone answering device so I wasn't sure I even dialed the right place, or maybe he is out of business.

We were very pleased with Phil. His is a one-person shop and he is busy, so you must have a little patience. However, he is very fair in his pricing and if he knows you could do the work yourself, he is very helpful with his advice. Our overall opinion of him is that he is honest, fair and very helpful. He also sells reconditioned/repaired appliances which maybe of interest to people during these difficult economic times.
Description of Work: My husband, who can fix most anything, just could not get the drum out of our front load Frigidaire washing machine. He had the new part from Sears and was very frustrated that he could not complete the job himself. He called two repair places in Bend, Oregon and neither wanted to work on this brand. Phil's Appliance was recommended by one of the repair places. When we took the washer to him, he told us that it would take probably 3 to 4 hours and estimated the cost at $120.00. We considered that very fair. It took less time because it was already partially disasembled and the charge was only $80.00. We were pleased to get it back in only 3 working days. (He had warned us that he was quite busy.) It worked well for 4 days and then stopped doing the "spin" cycle. My husband called Phil, who advised that it was either a control in the back of the washer or the door switch. Phil had both parts and that was something my husband could fix himself. Thankfully, it was only a $40.00 door switch. However, if the other part should decide to quit, we know where to go. The washer is working very well now.
