I purchased a slidling glass patio door with a built-in pet door. The company sent many forms to be filled out by me and my glass installer regarding measurements. The door was shipped from Oregon to NC. When my glass installer came to install, we discovered that there was a problem, the door didn't fit although the measurements were fine. We called the president of Pet Door Design who asked us questions and it the problem was ascertained: his sliding glass door was made to fit on an inside track but my sliding glass door was on an outside track, which was never asked about on all the paperwork sent. The company president offered to have the door sent back and reshipped but the pet door would be on the left instead of on the right. That configuration wouldn't work for me so my only choice was no pet door or a pet door in the middle, in the stationary panel. The glass panel was installed as the stationary panel which meant that the pet door was now in the middle which was impractical and unascetical. Pets have to squeeze between the vertical blinds and curtains now instead of me being able to draw those over a foot to make it easy for them. Owner was contacted but he refused to offer a discount. I don't mind paying full price for what I ordered, but when I end up with a product that is not what I ordered, why should I have to pay full price? If he offered to pay for return shipping, why couldn't he have reimbursed me that amount? The owner admits that the mistake was his by not asking on the form if the door was on the inside or outside track. My lawyer contacted him but he said that the matter was closed. So, knowing that the error was his, he still would not make a discount. To me, that shows that he is unethical and does not accept responsibility for his mistake.
Description of Work: Poor ethics of owner--ripped off and won't discount
