I proposed what I wanted in the room and supplied measurements. Doug gave me an estimate after I chose the wood, door style and finish I wanted. He sent me (email) a proposal. I made a couple of changes. He sent me another proposal. I made another change to the size of the tall corner cabinet. He agreed to the change and the change in price and sent me a final proposal. I was unable to open the document on my computer, but since we had talked the day before, I was certain he understood what I wanted, so I approved the proposal site unseen. That was my big mistake! He had forgotten to change the dimension on the final order. A smaller cabinet arrived and was installed before I noticed the error. Of course I had paid for the larger one which was the price he quoted when he verbally agreed to the larger size. I talked to Doug on the phone. He was polite, but pointed out that it was my error to approve the proposal without seeing it in writing. I pointed out that it was also his error-forgot to change the size on the order. He said we would have to order another cabinet, but he would give it to me at "his cost". And he agreed to pay half and I would have to pay for the installation. I should be happy. I like the cabinets, but I think he should/could have done more. It left a sour taste in my mouth. Not sure if I will use them again.
