Since I've had this type of work done before and didn't have any problems, and tis job wasn't complicated, I got an estimate over the phone and scheduled the work. I wasn't very impressed with the rep at the store, twice he said he would call back to conffirm the install date and details and didn't, and I had to keep calling him back. He also must have listened or taken notes poorly, because when the crew showed up to do the work they said the job was bigger than they'd been led to believe and they seemed put out. I said I would pay the difference if they had to do extra work, so they got started. There was a crew chief who dropped by a couple times and two guys who did the work. The crew chief was gone before the work was done, although he said everything looked fine. I noticed one of the workers left, so I went to look at the carpet and found new spots at the entry to one room. I have no idea what it was, but it wasn't on the carpet before they pulled it. I asked the remaining worker to clean it up and he mumbled something, went back to the room for a few minutes, then disappeared. When I realized he was gone, I went back to look at the carpet and the stains weren't completely gone. The new carpet actually looked worse than the old carpet I had pulled out. No one left me a bill or any statement of the work performed, they said the guy at the store would call me about it and I would pay him then. Five days later, the guy called to check the status, so I explained that the install crew left the carpet dirty and I wasn't happy. The crew chief returned, cleaned the carpet, and answered some questions I had about the installation. In the end, I was satisfied with the work performed, but the poor communication and lack of professionalism from the office left a bad taste in my mouth. I probably wouldn't hire this company again.
Description of Work: I hired this company at the recommendation of Carpet Surgeon, who was short-handed and couldn't take my job. Urban Floors was to pull carpet out of 5 rooms and the hallway of our home, then use the carpet from the living/dining room to carpet 2 of the bedrooms. I've had this done before and its a simple/inexpensive approach.
