Do not subscribe to their service! They lie to get you to sign a contract.The door-to-door salesperson, Kelton Garder, guaranteed us multiple times it was a one time fee of $99 with no contract to continue, as we have signed up for lawn care and/or pest control in the past and ran into the same issue (a contract w/ recurring charges), so we were absolutely, positively against signing any kind of contract that included future billed services.. Now, I understand that I signed the contract, but it was on an iPad type of device that doesn't show the whole 5-page contract in it's entirety; we took Kelton's word. Once I realized it was a year long contract (I signed in late 2016) and the contract was for 4 quarterly services through 2017. I called Edge and explained to Tyson, a manager, my displeasure with the inaccurate sales pitch I was given and the fact that I was now subject to a cancellation fee of %50 of the remaining value of the contract. I asked that the contract be canceled w/o the cancellation fee (I didn't ask for a refund on the services provided, just to waive the cancellation fee), but ultimately, Tyson CHOSE to hold me to the contract and collect the cancellation fee despite their salesperson's dishonesty. Tyson tried to say to me that he HAS to honor the contract, but since it is their company's contract (and I deal with contracts for a living) I know they can CHOOSE to do whatever they want, and he eventually admitted to me that he's CHOOSING to honor the contract and charge me the cancellation fee regardless of how the service was presented to me by their field rep, Kelton...from educational experience I can tell you that the business practice of stepping over a dollar to collect a dime is not a solid business practice. Well, throw in deception to that strategy and you have Edge's business philosophy... For those of you who read this and think I may be one of those people who try to get something for nothing, just try and find another post from me on any other business other than Edge. You won't find one because this is the first time I've ever written a negative review...EVER! (I've only written positive reviews.)...If I could give them zero stars, I would, but I have to give them at least 1 star to be able to post a review.
Description of Work: Do not use this service...I didn't need anything...what they sold me at my front door was not what they represented in their contract.

Did not solve any of my problems. Every service call has had problems. They always send a email asking how they have done, when you explain they have not done well, they do not respond to the complaint. Never has solved ant problem, every service call has major problems. Please see copy of email below: this is from Edge on February 9 2017 Thank you for your review Response from EDGE Servicing Portland "Thanks for letting us know of your situation. Someone will reach out to you within 1-2 business days so we can make sure you are taken care of." Your original review "Left gate open. Treated during record rainfall. How is it going to work if you spray in basically a river of water." Sincerely, EDGE Servicing Portland I sent this follow up on February 15 after no response since February 9 ToEDGE Servicing Portland Message body No one has ever contacted me per your message below. This is an ongoing pattern with Edge. Please stop sending me all these satisfaction surveys No one from Edge responded to this email as of March 1. I called them ( by the way, the number says 503 area code, but it only rings to Utah) I told them they have continually not lived up to their end of the agreement. I asked that they cancel my agreement at the end of the year per my contract and not renew. They said they cannot do that and if I wanted to cancel I could only do it if I called back on the day of my last service. I told them that was unacceptable and ridiculous. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was told, by "Drega?" " they will just tell you the same thing" I finally convinced them to put me to a supervisor, and they were right, the supervisor (Brandon) could care less and delivered the same message. They do not solve your pest issues Service calls are always messed up DO NOT EVER agree to an ongoing service agreement with them, they will make it very difficult to EVER cancel. Terrible service company, Example above is only the latest issue.

Each time a different technician came to the house even though I requested that the same person return. Each time I had to explain again that I don't want my garden blanketed with poison spray, but they did it anyway unless I was right there to prevent the technician from doing it. Baiting vole boxes has nothing to do with spraying for insects and spiders. I called several times to ask that a note be added to my account to not spray the whole garden, to no avail. A few months after I discontinued the service there was a marked increase in bees, hoverflies and many other insects. The one time we needed a mole catcher the technician was successful within the time he specified. He was punctual, courteous and helpful.
Description of Work: Springtime spraying outside to prevent ants from coming inside. Distributing and baiting boxes to control vole infestation on a regular basis. Catch mole.

The work done was fine; could have used more than a few minutes notice before arrival to spray. Only discontinued because beneficial garden insects were affected. We definitely had fewer spiders and silverfish in the house when we used their service.

Great! The Bedbugs took 3 visits, 2 weeks apart and was my worst nightmare. Thanks to Edge after the first treatment and teaching me how to properly clean and keep everything sealed we didn't get but again. They are gone completely and just finished the 3rd treatment. We love Edge snd will be keeping with their program for years to come!! Our ant and mice issue is also resolving wonderfully. Very honest, knowledge and hardworking crew.

We were very pleased with the response time and professionalism of the company and exterminator who came for each treatment. The company called to check on the work after each treatment. As they promised the bed bugs are gone! Thanks so much it's been a nightmare.

Not Great. When salesman Harrison came to our door in late May, I was hesitant. But he sold me on the great service it was and that it was safe for pets (as we have a dog). A service person came and did an initial spray. Harrison told us that a follow up visit was included in the original $99.99 per quarter cost. We had our follow up visit scheduled and after it was done, we were charged an additional $99.99. We called the main office and I spoke with Travis (a manager) in the middle of June. He said he could not waive the fee, but we could close out the account and we would have to the end of August to have Edge service people come out and spray. We had them come out a couple more times and it seems to have helped some. Again it was not as good as they touted it, but it did help. My wife scheduled one more visit on 8-27-16 so we could use up what we needed. We thought we had it scheduled from 9-noon, but we called as it was almost noon and no one had called us. We were told by Austin that the window was 9a to 1p, which was fine as we were home anyway. Austin told me that I would be paying an additional $99.99 for today and then said I wanted to cancel as I did not feel I should have to pay if I was covered by what Travis had told me in June. He put Quinn on the line (who had called us mysteriously 2 days ago about some 'concerns'). Quinn is a manager and he asked me to repeat my concerns. I went over the entire story with him and advised him that his service people were good, but that I did not want to pay any more for service today. Quinn tried to sell me on keeping the service and wanted to prove that they were good. I told Quinn that the people that came to our house were nice and professional but that we felt we were misled the entire time on cost. He said that Travis had put in a flag on 8-19-16 to call and verify our cancellation. No one called us on that date. Travis said he would cancel our service for us effective today, but that there would be an early cancellation fee. I told him I was against paying for this and that this was not good customer service. Travis kept repeating that he understood my frustration. He said he would cancel but would let billing know to send me a bill for early cancellation, but he said he would not automatically charge my card. I tried to appeal to his customer service side (since we felt we never got any from them). Quinn kept repeating policy and decided he wanted poor reviews of his company. Needless to say I was more frustrated after the phone call with the manager than before we called. Bottom line I was not happy with the CUSTOMER service part of their service. They may have a good product (which I will debate as we still had lots of ants and bees around our house this summer), but I will never know. I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AS THEY MISLED US FROM THE BEGINNING. If Quinn or anyone there would have given us some customer service I still might have kept the service. That did not happen. So we cancelled.

That's why we train our sales reps to reiterate multiple times what out customers are signing up for. We also send you everything you signed and make sure you watched our welcome video. We want to be as transparent as possible. Now, we went back and read the notes from Travis after the conversation he had with you back in June. He wrote down in his notes that he told you that we could not refund you the $99.99 because that was part of the service you signed up for. The $99.99 charge is a normal charge through out our company (which you signed) and it's an industry standard across most companies. The prices may be different but the timing of the charge is normal through out most pest control companies. We really have made a great effort to make things as clear as possible for you. We hope to see you stay with us and wish you the best.

Edge has excellent employees. Spencer was "pounding the pavement" in our neighborhood at a perfect time. We had been considering contacting a pest control for the past several weeks for bees and ants. They had an excellent deal that we signed up with. They sent out Anthony just hours later for our initial treatment. He was punctual, professional and did a great job. We look forward to a long term relationship with Edge.

Very friendly guys. All the ones that have come are very personable. One time, they didn't get down a wasp nest completely and they came back a few days later and cleaned it up.

Edge Pest Control is a complete fraud. The send out pushy salespeople to mislead customers into signing an agreement quickly which binds them to multiple years of service. The salespeople will say you can cancel with 30 days notice with no fees but the agreement they skim through quickly states otherwise. After speaking with apparently the only manager in the company, Chandler White, who refused to help or give the name of his supervisor, it is absolutely apparent that the entire company is a scam. The service technicians do horrible work and their customer service department is a complete sham. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

They have really excellent customer service. I like that what they use, is safe for our dogs and grand babies.
Description of Work: We just started using Edge Pest Control. We have a lot of dogs and we had a flea problem, which is extra, but once you pay for the extra flea protection for the year, they come out as many times as we would like them to within that year. They got that under control. Recently we got a new dog, and we knew she was around fleas, so we had them come out and spray as a precaution. They also checked the traps too.

Josh showed up less than an hour after the salesman left, had me watch a video on his tablet (all their business is done via tablet), and he proceeded to spray all my baseboards in the house and on a ceiling area that had previously had a spider sac of eggs attached. He went around the garage too. Then we went outside, and I showed him my shed which had several Hobo spiders in it, and he proceeded to brush out all the webs (killing one of the spiders then), and then brushed around the entire house and deck. He then applied a granular application to all of the yard. That took about 45 minutes as he did a thorough job. He then returned with a truck mounted spray and sprayed the inside and outside of the shed, the deck and all around the house. All told, he spent about 75 minutes here, and made sure I knew who I could call if I needed more help or questions answered. He answered all of my questions, and was friendly and professional. I would use these guys again, based on this one time. Since this is the first application of stuff, I don't know how effective it's going to be yet. Ongoing quarterly costs will be $110, after they return for a follow up in 4 weeks to get any just hatched spiders. He also left a bait trap that will attract any mice or rats to the poison inside, and will check that each time they come to my house. I received a copy of the 1st service performed by email within a half hour of job completion.
Description of Work: I never let a door to door salesman in, but this time I did, and it was for pest control. I signed up for an initial spraying for various pests, but mainly for spiders as I had a problem last year with both Hobo spiders and Wolf spiders coming into the house. The salesman, Aaron Fielding was professional and answered all of my questions satisfactorily and explained it all. I mentioned that I had had a rat problem a few years back, and he said that the control of vermin was included, so I signed up for the initial visit, plus quarterly visits for a year. All business was conducted in person, and the signup and contract were done on his tablet. I received an email copy of everything within 5 minutes of Aaron leaving my house.

I've been using the company for at least a year, and I'm very happy with its services. They always show on time, they always call ahead of their arrival, and they're very thorough. In fact, they spent several hours at the house and made several additional trips in order to get rid of some yellow jackets. What's more is they didn't charge for the additional trips at all.

We've been using Edge for two years now, and we'd highly recommend their services. It's always easy getting in touch to schedule, and their technicians do a great job. As an example, one technician was at the house for several hours trying to find a nest of yellow jackets, and he even dug up the nest after treating it. What's more is that all of his work was covered by the quarterly charge.
