Services we offer
We offer residential and commercial roof replacements and low-slope roof restoration and inspections. When we provide roofing bids, we are able to bid for new gutters and our partner gutter company will perform the installation.
Services we don't offer
Currently, we do not perform or estimate roof repairs. We do not offer gutter cleaning or gutter services alone. We don't install new concrete and other types of TILE roofs and we don't service current tile roofs. We are, however, able to remove tile roofs and dispose of them in preparation for a different type of roofing material. We install new metal roofs, but do not repair existing ones by other installation companies.
They took care of the problem and the entire attic. They did a very good job and explained everything in detail before they did anything. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Kenny came out and was very nice. They came out and 2 people worked on the roof for most of the day. The roof still leaked but they came out promptly and worked on it again. They said it was leaking from the siding (concrete) and Kenny called to say they would pay to fix the siding if needed. Kenny also said if I had anymore problems to call him and they would take care of it. I appreciate there commitment to making sure the job is done right and the customer is happy.
Description of Work: Roof on the detached garage was leaking on the side were the concrete hits the siding.

I discovered a serious roof leak in a rainy December and wanted an immediate fix (obviously). I saw a lawn sign for Raindrop, checked them on this list, checked their web site and their CCB data and gave them a call. Kenny Courtney came by within a few days for an estimate and nailed down a tarp over the leaking valley area as a temporary fix. The estimate included improved attic ventilation (larger intake vents and a single power roof vent) and a new GEN-FLEX membrane on a small flat roof area over an addition (see above). I signed and returned the contract and left town for the Christmas holidays expecting to schedule the job when I returned. Instead, Kenny phoned just after Christmas while I was away and said they wanted to start immediately rather than wait until I returned in January. I picked a color from the on-line color charts and gave them the go-ahead. He kept me up to date on progress, answered my questions, and when I got home a week later, the job was essentially done--including clean-up. The only evidence that anyone had been there was the new roof--which looked great--and the drop box in the driveway. Kenny came by a few days later and gave me a tour of the roof noting the metal flashing in the valley where the leak had been, the new vents, improved flashing around the chimney and the membrane over the small flat roof. Only two items remained to be completed: connecting the roof vent fan (they had no access to the attic since I was out of town), and adding a stem vent for the kitchen stove. Both items were soon taken care of. When I later complained about excessive noise and vibration from the vent fan, they responded in timely fashion by fastening it more securely to the roof. It seems to be fixed, but by summer when the fan is running more often I will know for sure. In short, Raindrop did a very complete and professional job, kept me in the loop even though I was out of town, and responded quickly to my concerns. About the cost, I did not get bids (though Raindrop didn't know that). I can compare only with what others have paid for similar work. Roofing is a very competitive business so I assume the cost was reasonable. Kenny's original bid was very detailed and complete, leaving nothing to be added later. Count me as a satisfied customer.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced roofing of 1500 sq ft house using 26 squares of Pabco Premier 50 Architectural Shingles over 30# ASTM felt underlayment. Installed metal roof flashings in the valleys, new flashings around chimney, vent pipes, and gutter edge. Installed new larger intake vents and power roof ventilator, replaced bath and kitchen vents and connected them properly (never connected by builder). Installed membrane on flat roof over addition, Removed worthless "gutter guards" (don't ever buy them!). Replaced pieces of plywood showing dry rot.

I had a 35 year old shake roof (actually 2 layers) removed and new shake installed. It is absolutely gorgeous. Wish I could have a dollar for every comment on its beauty by friends, strangers and neighbors! Raindrop was very careful in the removal and the installation. The cleanup was good and the landscape did not suffer any damage. The crew was friendly and great to work with. I highly recommend this company.

Kenny came over & met with my dad for the initial assessment & estimate. He gave lots of information about what would need to be done, and left behind paperwork for us to look at. He emailed me the estimate the same day. We took a lot of time deciding what to do; in all that time Kenny was VERY responsive to my emails, answering questions promptly and completely, and making sure I understood. When we finally decided to go ahead, Kenny was able to get his crew together the NEXT DAY to take advantage of weather. They were very neat; the only evidence of work in progress was bags of shingles on the roof. Kenny called me as soon as he knew they would go over estimate - he had warned me they likely would - and emailed me as soon as he knew the additional cost. After the job was done, he continued to be very responsive and helpful. The trash was taken away promptly. When we found the kitchen exhaust was not working, a crewmember came over on a Saturday morning to put it right. The crewmember, Javier, told us there was a problem with the attic exhaust, and he would arrange for an electrician; however that proved unnecessary since I remembered there was a switch for the power in that area, which was not obvious. The invoice for the whole job was emailed to me, neatly itemized and very clear. When I paid it my check cleared promptly. My only concern is that I won't know for sure if the attic exhaust fan is working until it gets hot and/or humid. However I am confident that Kenny & Raindrop would be right there to fix it if there turned out to be a problem.
Description of Work: Kenny came over to assess a leak and diagnosed the roof as in need of replacement (which we suspected). His team tore off 3 layers and put in a completely new roof, including new exhaust fan and vents, and replaced exhaust pipes for the gas furnace and bathroom fan. They removed non-functional clutter from the roof including an old alarm siren, satellite dish, and TV antenna, and replaced the sun tunnel skylight exactly as they found it.

We had estimates from three well-known vendors, and each vendor gave estimates for three different types of roofing: simple composition, thick composition shingles, and heavy cedar. In each category, Raindrop was significantly less expensive than the other quotes. The quote also included costs for any repairs that would be needed on a time/materials basis. We ultimately selected the thick composition shingles, since they looked very much like the existing cedar roof but were significantly less costly and would outlast the cedar. A four-man work crew did the job. They were courteous, amazingly hard-working, and never needed interior access for bathroom breaks. They spread tarps over foliage and were meticulous in cleaning up after themselves every day. The job took about 4 days, two of which were in a light rain, which was not an issue because they had already laid down the roofing felt layer. Our old house did have some roof damage, which we discovered was due to a bathroom exhaust vent that no longer vented outside. Raindrop did those repairs exactly as specified in the contract, no surprises. The fellow who came out to do the bid was "Kenny," and what impressed me was not only his courtesy but also his ability to use technology to get accurate numbers. For example, he was able to back up his initial estimate by going into Google Earth, zooming in to our home's aerial view, and then literally measuring the roof from that view! Pretty cool. No, I don't work for Raindrop, and I have to say that the other companies were friendly and professional also. But Raindrop's quote was about $1k below the others, I'd gotten strong recommendations from a neighbor, and was impressed by Kenny's obvious competency. I would not hesitate to recommend Raindrop to a family member or neighbor.

It went very well. Kenny was the most knowledgeable of the three estimators I talked to, by far (all Angie's list A rated). Kenny worked explained everything very thoroughly, and worked with me to fine-tune the quote, and to add gutters to the scope. The crew was professional and courteous. I couldn't have asked for a better job. Their price was very competitive with the other quotes, closer to the low end then the high end.
Description of Work: They did a complete tear-off of our roof, removing a layer of composite and shake shingles. Our 2200 sq-ft house was built in 1941, and includes a 2-car detached garage. They added 1x3 spacers to improve ventilation, along with eave vents and ridge vent. We shingled with Certainteed Presidential Shake asphalt shingles, and they look awesome. This new roof will last a long time.

They did a perfect job. They put a new roof and replaced the skylights. They were recommended on Angie?s list and my neighbors had also used them for roofing and they were very happy with them. They are very thorough. The original quote was well done and well documented. The guy who did the estimate was called Kenny. He was very good about helping us select the right material. When they were doing the work the weather was very grim and they were able to work through that and they were able to finish the work on time. They did a very nice job. They were very competitive with couple of other bids. The quote was thoroughly documented so that we do not get any surprises later.

Raindrop Roofing's Ryan responded to our phone message quickly. We emailed the details of our situation and he went out to look at our roof. He provided a bid addressing our questions and concerns. He answered with detail our questions about proper roof/soffit venting. Charmagne provided a list of prior jobs so I could drive by and look at a few specific roof colors I liked. We had questions about warrantee as well which they addressed. The job went exceptionally well. They arrived when they said they would, were courteous, worked long hard days to get the job done, replaced rotted decking, and cleaned up completely. The final product looks good. We're very happy with the work and service. I've worked with a lot of contractors and Ryan is the first one who has truly strong communication skills, and who remained responsive throughout the duration of the job. He's proactive and professional, so are his staff. Good crew. We're very satisfied (and we're not easy to please), would use them again and will recommend them.
Description of Work: Complete tear off and replacement of roof on 1600 sf ranch house. Added new roof and soffit vents to meet roofing manufacturers specs. Also repaired faulty bathroom exhaust which had been venting into attic, not connected to roof vent. We met with 4 roofers all on Angie's List, one we'd also used before, and decided to go with Raindrop because of referral from neighbor, responsiveness and price.

The estimating part went well with Raindrop issuing the most complete one, (I received four in all), and it seemed competitive. The work proceeded on time and was completed the same week. The workers were friendly and hard working. There was cleanup every day. There was very little hand holding as no one showed up to ask how we thought it was going. Overall I would say it was a high quality job. On the down side, a gutter got stepped on, (it was replaced free of charge), and the last drop box was not picked up until the following Monday.

Contacted Raindrop after reading good reviews on Angie's List. Got a quick and professional response from the woman who handles their phones. She was very helpful and is a great asset to the company. They got someone out there quickly, but the person they sent (Kenny) was condescending and very bad at relating to the situation. He looked at the roof and basically told me to repair it was a "waste of money" when I really just need a new roof. I mentioned that spending $1000 isn't a waste if we need to stop water from pouring into our roof and be able to use my kitchen and keep my family of 5 protected for the winter.....and when I don't have thousands to spend on a new roof right now. His suggestion..."well, just tarp it then...because it would be a waste to do this work". His attitude when I am in crisis (ceiling in kitchen had collapsed and kitchen was covered in water, debris, etc.) was insulting and his suggesting to "tarp it" wouldn't have flown in another neighborhood just blocks away where thousands of dollars may come a little easier. He finally said he would draw up the estimate for a repair, but also for the roof as a whole...and then he said to "talk to your husband about it"....which I had never mentioned having a husband (I don't) and which was a way for him to dismiss me and what I was asking. And to top it off, he didn't send his estimate when he said he would....and it was for $4000 HIGHER than the person we went with (Tom Phelps, whom I highly recommend) and that was with us doing the tear off & disposal. Maybe it was a bad day, but I wouldn't call this guy back if you paid me.

Response from Raindrop Roofing NW
Thank you for using Angie's List reports. I am sorry to hear about the frustration you felt and got on this immediately, but have been delayed in posting the response knowing you already had your leak repaired. I reviewed the photos Kenny took of your roof and have to concur with the scope of work as outlined by him to effectively remedy the leak. Our policy, which I developed after 23 years in this industry and as a leak repair expert, is to NEVER perform a repair on a roof that we do not feel will remedy the problem. That being said it knocks us out of the bidding sometimes because we are fixing everything needed above the leaking area. We never just tar a roof unless it is one we will be replacing in a month or two. If we cannot perform a warrantable repair because the roof is too deteriorated we also will advise to replace it. I have been called in hundreds of times after our repair scope has been too big and the customer opts to use another contractor whose repair has fails after a few months. This does not always occur of course and I hope in your case the repair holds. We tarp roofs for 5 reasons: 1) It is leaking and the client wants to wait to replace the roof so they do not throw the money away; 2) It is raining too hard to repair the roof at that time; 3) To temporarily stop the leak until repairs can be made due to our or their schedule; 4) the client states either they do not have the money or the desire to remedy the problem; 5) The damage may be covered by insurance and the adjuster needs to see it before it is repaired to do an assessment. I do not know what style of house you own but we tarp anything that falls into the above categories from mansions to sheds. From my understanding your leak fell under condition 4 above and also could meet the conditions in both 1 and 3. Since the date of the report we have tarped 10 houses/buildings falling under all of the above categories. We also have photos of some of these tarps if you would like to contact us I will send them to. I spoke with Kenny who said that you told him that one of your family members (whether a boyfriend, husband, or partner he thought you said husband) was the one who had removed a section of roofing and installed the new shingles on the still leaking area. He is paid on straight commission and so does not have an axe to grind with anyone no matter race, color, creed, or location. As to the grading of a 'B' on punctuality I would ask that you change it to an 'A' since he was early to the appointment but Tom Phelps had arrived before him without an appointment. At that point you asked Kenny to wait which he did for 45 minutes while you dealt with the unscheduled roofer. He had other appointments after yours which put pressure on him to assess your repair needs after starting 45 minutes late. This pressure may have affected how present he was with you making him seem aloof and if that was the case I apologize. Kenny Courtney is the best roofing sales consultant in the Portland area after having had many work for me and viewing many with competitors over the years. He is has integrity, is extremely well versed in correct roof system design, has installed many roofs of various types which gives him hands on experience many salesmen do not have, and truly cares and loves what he does. I am not in this business to cause pain for our customers and I am sorry you felt the way you expressed in your review. Please contact me if you have anything more to talk about or if I am totally incorrect with the above. Sincerely, Ryan Bowen President Raindrop Roofing NW Ryan@raindropnw.com

Excellent job. Arrived on time, finished quickly. It looks great. They needed to do some extra work so the roof would "breathe" properly. This was completely explained to us. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. I got about 5 estimates, all about the same price but I felt Raindrop would do the best job.

They were very prompt in all areas. I gave a A on price only because all the other roof companies I called Raindrop was the only one to come and give a estimate, so as far as I know its a good price. Alex came and did the work, he was very professional he stayed late to complete the job. We are also a 3 story house the roof is very high up, noticed he and his co-worker used safety harness. Overall very happy with the job would use them again.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced 42 shingles and 2 metal vents, sealed two pipes. Installed tapered insulation system to raise flat area and eliminate ponding water. Kenny was thorough in his explanations of the project. Responded to all questions and concerns in a timely fashion. Followed up on details. We were scheduled within 2-3 weeks of making a decision. Though we were away when the roof was installed, our neighbors report the crew was professional and on time. They cleaned up wonderfully after themselves. Kenny contacted me by e-mail during the project. The bid for Raindrop came in $2000 less than 3 companies of similar reputation and I felt most comfortable with the expertise and professionalism demonstrated by Kenny and office staff.

I decided to join Angie's List that day. I got a message machine but got a call back within 45 minutes and a tech was out within an hour. Overall, they did a fantastic job. They were quick and prompt. It was a well deserved number one rating on Angie's List.

I sleep upstairs and I heard water dripping and it was coming out of my ceiling fan. I got buckets out and in the morning started calling around. On a very rainy day I had a leak from the roof. I called RainDrop and they said someone would be out later that day. Alex came out that same day in the afternoon and he was able to determine the source of the leak by crawling in the attic and found that 2 roof vents were loose. He came back the next morning and replaced the vents and installed new shingles around the vents to prevent further leakage. Alex was very professional, explaining the job and showing me the old vents. He took off his shoes when entering my house and he was very polite. Highly Recommended! I will call them for my future roofing needs.

They were here a week after we first called them. They were very polite and very professional. I have never seen people work so hard. Ours is a 1924 house whose area is 2700 sq. feet. They had to repair some of the boards underneath. Their clean-up was superb. They not only did the sweeping, but also used a leaf blower. I think they also used a jet spray on all the walkways and around the house. They finished the work in two days. There is nothing but positive things that I have to say about them. They were outstanding.

Description of Work: On Thanksgiving, we had a rainstorm in our living room. People in neighboring rowhouses (we are in the group) recommended Raindrop Roofing NW. I was warned that similar work had been done on the other units and it had cost about $2000.00 to correct. I called Raindrop and their supervisor came to look. He got up on the roof and after looking, said it was a simple repair and would cost less the $500.00. They needed to take the gutter off and replace flashing.

We don't install new concrete and other types of TILE roofs and we don't service current tile roofs. We are, however, able to remove tile roofs and dispose of them in preparation for a different type of roofing material. We install new metal roofs, but do not repair existing ones by other installation companies.
