Prime Roofing

Great. He came out right away and explained the whole procedure much more thoroughly than any of the other bidders. The price was in the range of all the other quotes. It was found that the wood underneath the roof was still usable, so we were discounted that off the price. The work was done quickly and efficiently. Our only complaints are that there are some marks on the walls where the skylights were installed, there was debris left in the yard, the crew was a bit unpredictable, and the crew appeared to be illegal immigrants.

I called to ask about some repair work. I checked Angie's List for those nearest to my home. Their ad said that they serviced Washington County but when I told them where I lived (within <16 miles) they said, "Oh, you live out there, we don't service that area". I felt their ad was misleading. They also said that my job was too little for them to bother with. They should put a disclaimer on their ad stating that if the job is less than a minimum $ amount, they don't do it. Or maybe state that they don't do small repairs. I guess my future business isn't worth anything to them either.

Greg was very professional and detailed. The crew did an outstanding job and were very thorough in their cleanup.

From the day Greg showed up to give us an estimate, to the completion of the job, it all went very smoothly. Greg and his crew were on time and completed the job in a week and a couple days. Due to 95 degree weather they had to quit early on a couple days, returning in the late afternoon to complete some more of the work. Greg explained the whole job process to us and gave us many different composition materials to choose from, explaining the pros and cons of each one. We originally had requested a quote on the roof and gutters, but when Greg inspected the roof for the quote, he told us the gutters were in good condition and it would be a waste of my money to replace them. That told me right there that I was dealing with an honest company. They could have said the gutters were shot and pocketed another $1000. Prime was not the lowest quote but neither the highest either. I generally do all my own work on our house but a two story re-roof was not worth getting hurt and spending a summer trying to complete it. I had heard many nightmare stories about hiring a contractor and was a bit concerned. Greg and his company are good proof that there are still some reputable, honest contractors out there. We have all plants in our yard, no grass, his crew was very careful to cause no damage and they cleaned up each day and on the final day did a superior clean-up of our yard. There is a large metal flashing that is part of the dormer that was in good condition but really faded. It would have required removing the siding to replace it, I really never liked the looks of the metal and asked Greg what we could do like maybe paint it or something. Greg had some matching sheet compositon with self adhesive on it and they installed it on top of the flashing strictly as a cosmetic item and it looks great. My wife and I are very pleased with the new roof and Prime's professional and personable approach for taking care of there customer.

He was very professional and good about letting you make the decision based on the information he gave us. He gave choices in terms of material and shared his opinions with us about his preferences.

Mr. Anthony was great to work with. Communication was excellent throughout the entire project and response time was fantastic. The crew did a great job of minimizing interruptions to our daily life and left the job site super clean. The quality of our roof is top notch. I would definitely use this company again. One additional note: I contacted Greg with a question 2 years after our job had been completed. Response and follow up was great...Prime Roofing stands behind their work.

After contacting Prime Roofing about getting a quote, Greg was very responsive in coming out to meet with me and take a look at my roof. After finishing his evaluation of my roof (having climbed up, wandered around, and taken measurements) Greg said that while he'd be happy to replace my roof, he thought it wasn't in too bad a shape and probably still had a few years left on it. That should give you an idea what an honest guy Greg is and the professional standards that he and his company live up to. I still I wanted to replace the roof and we talked about shingle manufacturers. He showed me samples from two different manufacturers and later in the process we discussed yet a third manufacturer. It was nice to have choices, unlike with another bidding contractor who had only offered one option, which from my later research was not as high quality as those offered by Prime. In a few days, I had Greg's quote and was ready to move forward, but was still undecided as to exactly which manufacturer and color to go with. Greg had provided a list of house addresses his company had done in the past year or so, including the color and shingle type. I actually spent a couple evenings checking some of these out, and this helped immensely in my decision. Greg let me know that shingle prices from his supplier were going up at the end of the month and perhaps I might want to get my order in before then. This didn't work out, but again shows how Greg communicates with his customers. The week Prime put on my roof went very smoothly. The garbage dumpster arrived in my driveway on Monday as well as the plywood. Tuesday, the shake roof came off, plywood went on, and shingles were delivered to sit on the roof. For the next 3 days, Greg's crew of 3 put on the shingles, vents, flashing, sheeting, etc., all finished by the end of Friday. I have to say, those were some hot days as well (90+ degrees), so I tip my hat those roofers. In the end, I couldn't be happier with my new roof and I highly recommend Prime Roofing for any job you have.

Greg is a very nice guy, I had a roof leak and he came out and fixed it on the spot. I'd give him ten out of ten. I couldn't say anything else, but that he's very nice.

I think the price is excellent. Greg Anthony is the owner, and he was great! He was very knowledgeable. He showed up when he said he would. They were actually done with the work early about a half a day. He even did some other work that was not included in the estimate at no additional charge. I would use them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone.

From the initial meeting with Greg Anthony to the job completion, Prime Roofing lived up to and exceeded our high expectations. We interviewed six roofing companies based on ratings from Angie's List. Greg impressed us with his high standards of integrity and professional ethics. As the owner of a small roofing company with only one crew, Greg was able to visit the job site daily, monitoring the crew and offering hands-on assistance as needed. We were at home during the entire project so Greg also checked in with us daily to update on progress and address any questions we might have. Greg's crew also impressed us by taking care to treat our property with respect and behaving in a respectable manner. The crew cleaned up daily with an extra thorough cleaning at job's end. The next door neighbor even commented on how impressed he was with the hard-working crew. Prime Roofing gets the highest possible recommendation from us.

For the most part our experience was great. Greg was really fantastic to work with. We decided to go ahead to do the whole roof. They worked through some crummy weather to get the work done. The roof looks great. The only thing I wish was different was when they ripped the roof off a bunch of debris went into the attic. When they were all finished I wished they would have cleaned up the debris. They did some skylight damage and they recommended me to a company to get it fixed but I think they should have taken care of it. He was extremely personable. He was really fantastic to work with.

They came when they said they would come and they finished when they said they would. They cleaned up everything that they dropped, every little nail. Their pricing was very fair.

We got bids from 5 other companies for this project Prime s bid was just below the median. However their quality of work would be difficult to match. Greg was incredibly attentive from the first contact through to clean-up; he kept in continual contact with us via phone and email. Firstly, he was very patient while we chose a product that was the best quality we could afford it ended up being a lifetime shingle, but not a triple-layer and supplied us with just about every sample board he had! Once we agreed to the contract he sent out a list of things to do for prep. The only thing I would ask him to add is to remember to cover flooring under skylights that have to be removed. The crew was actually very careful in doing this, but we were caught off guard! Once work started, Greg was on site at some point every day; the rest of the crew were very polite. Whole job took 6 days, and their clean-up was exceptional. I think Prime Roofing offers affordable excellence in their service and the products they install we thoroughly recommend them.

Greg Anthony came out to my home the day I called and returned bid 3 days later. Work began 1 week later and roof was completed within 3 days, gutters 3 days later. Greg Anthony returned 1 week later, after solatube skylights were installed by another company, to inspect and ensure integrity of roof around skylights. Work was efficient, and well done. Property was left completely clean and without any damage to landscape or other property. His bid was lower than 2 other bids for the same roofing materials, and higher than 1 other bid, which was for a lesser quality material. I am completely satisfied with Prime Roofing service and quality and would recommend it to others.

Greg was the only contractor out of four that completed a thorough analysis of the roof for our premises which entailed getting onto the roof & investigating the current infrastructure from gutters, chimney flashing & gable flashing in addition to accessing our attic to look at the attic ventilation. Not only did Greg complete this review on his own, but he then took the time to show me the areas he reviewed & the options that were available. After submitting his proposal to us, Greg gave us a call & provided very informative feedback on the proposal. Greg also took time out of his schedule to provide feedback on the sequence of chimney replacement & roof replacement. This aided my wife & I's decision to get our chimney replaced first before the roof, so that we had the correct flashing in place & the roof warranty & chimney warranty would not be compromised. Greg was extremely personable, approachable, dependable & an excellent communicator, that made this task very seamless.

From initial discussions with Greg this task was completed post roof replacement and was completed in a short time frame. He was very communicative, the job met our requirements and we always felt involved with the process and task.

When Greg arrived to prepare an estimate he climbed on the roof to inspect; measure; and familiarize himself with the existing roof. He impressed me when he explained his process in details that I could understand. I originally thought his bid would be higher than others, but his bid was lower. Prior to receiving his bid I was prepared to give him the job, so the lower bid was just an added bonus. The roofers arrived on-time, cleaned up, and completed the work without any disturbances to my household. The increase in cost over bid was due to a few bad boards replaced, which I was expecting after experiencing a leak around my skylight earlier. I would suggest to everyone I know, and don't know, to give Prime Roofing a call.

The main problem with the previous asphalt shingle roof installation was that the roof line between the two side dormers and the main roof was improperly flashed. A secondary problem was that the asphalt shingles and underlying tar paper did not extend far enough into where the dormer roof departed from the main roof. The workers removed the shingles, re-installed a different water - and ice-proof paper and then re-installed new correctly matched asphalt shingles. Greg found some dry rot on one of the window ledges and in a couple of the cedar sidings in the walls of the dormer. He replaced them at a modest additional cost. This was not covered in his original bid. I appreciated his diligence. It would have been difficult for me to find a carpenter willing to take on such a relatively small job in the depths of the winter rains. The work was completed in one day. I appreciated his ability to juggle his schedule so that our leaking roof could be repaired promptly.

Very pleased with their work. They did a very good job and cleaned up well when the job was completed. During the first rain we had a leak. Greg (the owner) himself was out within an hour in the pouring rain repairing the leak for us.

They were on time. They gave the estimate quickly. They explained everything in detail and gave some great options. They came back and did a final inspection and clean up. Everything turned out great.

Greg is INCREDIBLY professional. We got several other bids and he was the only one who really explained to us what was involved start to finish. We felt that we really understood what was going to happen and what to expect. The crew was a bit unpredictable, but Greg kept in constant communication and was a great liaison. Work site was kept clean and Greg made sure that the gates were shut so our crazy dogs didn't escape which was really important to us.

Greg's crew came in, tore off on the first day, re-roofed on the second day, and cleaned up completely including removing any nails and small debris. They found some rotted fascia that needed replacing, and did some extra work to nail down decking that had not been properly installed originally. Even with the extra work, the final price came in within $100 of the original bid. Workmanship was solid throughout. They came back promptly and replaced a few white shingles that had been scuffed during installation. They also took extra effort to protect large juniper bushes that are right up against the house, so the tear-off didn't damage them. Overall, a very successful project.

Called back same day and scheduled a timely estimate appointment for a complete tear-off (3-layers) and new roof. Greg Anthony was very pleasant, calling to inform me when he became stuck in traffic and would be 15 minutes late for the appointment. He brought samples, did a thorough inspection of the roof, answered numerous questions that day, and was patient in explaining the pros/cons of different roofing products. His bid came via email attachment next day, much appreciated since I had pieces of shake roof flying off with each windstorm and needed to make a decision soon. Prime's bid came in competitively with the top bid, which used a different brand of architectural product. Needed clarifying questions of felt weight, weather guarding, chimney flashing, warranties, etc. Completely answered by Greg via phone and email. Reasons for not choosing Prime: Bid slightly higher when factoring in upgrades, gutter work contracted out, needed these also.

The whole process was straight forward after getting bids from several contractors. Prime Roofing's price was more competitive than most of the other bids which I felt was a reasonable price for what was being done. Greg explained what was going to be done and also made recommendations on replacing a skylight as well. Everything went well except for some uncooperative weather for a couple of days. The crew cleaned up after themselves. It's the first time I've had to put a roof on a house but I would recommend them again.

Tear off was accomplished in one day. Felt was installed before nightfall. New roof was installed the next day. Clean up was accomplished that day. Greg is very knowledgeable and personable. Excellent service. He has a crew of about 4 or 5 experienced workers. This report is now three weeks after the roof installation. No leaks, no blown off shingles, and looks great! We just had two weeks of high wind and rain storms this November '06.
