Prime Roofing is committed to craftsmanship, quality, integrity and customer service. Our roofers are among the best and most experienced in the business. Owner, Greg Anthony, is personally involved with every job from start to finish. The process begins with in-person meeting to discuss your needs, options, budget, materials, timing and expectations. By making frequent site visits as every job progresses, Greg is able to ensure every project we undertake meets the high standards he, our roofers and our customers have come to expect. Ask for details on service fees.
*We specialize in Residential Pitched Re-Roofs.
Greg came out and inspected the roof and provided a detailed estimate that included the various options and upgrades available. I accepted his bid and expected the work to start in about a month. He called back soon after to offer to begin the job immediately as another customer was going on vacation and wanted to delay work on his house. The crew showed up when scheduled and began the tear-off. The job took about ten days from that point including a few days where the hot weather prevented working part of the day due to the composite shingles becoming too soft. The crew was respectful of the property and kept the site cleaned up and tidy. They were diligent and worked until almost 8 pm on a couple of days. The roof looked great when they finished. All in all a great experience (as much as putting a new roof on can be).
Description of Work: Tear off 20 year old shake roof. Sheath with plywood. Install high end triple layer composite shake roof. Replace three skylights.

The company owner, Greg, was very helpful providing with the resources (seeing previously installed roofs, seeing roofing material samples at the suppliers location) to help us select our roofing materials. The crew performed the work in one continuous week from Monday through the following Saturday. The crew performed in a very workmanlike fashion doing neat work according to the agreed specifications. Greg inspected the progress of his crews daily, addressed any problem areas in our existing structure daily and reviewed with us the plans for details such as vents, coordination with necessary mason work, etc. At the end of the project, the yard around the house was thoroughly cleaned up. Overall, Greg was very attentive to all details to ensure a satisfactory project.

Prime's was the middle bid of the three contractors we asked. Greg spent the most time of the three explaining our options, and educating us on the in's and out's of a roof. It is clear that he loves what he does, and is interested in high quality work above all else, and the safety of his crew. We were impressed with this approach. Rather than having a large crew of temporary workers do a job in two days, he uses a smaller crew of permanent employees who may take a little longer, but do the job right the first time. Our job took about 7 working days, which is what Greg had estimated. Because they worked one section at time, the roof was never left open or exposed to the rain when they left for the day. The job went very well. Prime Roofing and employees were respectful and accommodating to our requests, making them easy to talk to. They worked diligently, consistently, professionally, answering any concerns we had in a timely, responsive manner. They did an excellent cleanup job and left our yard in very good condition, having taken care not to pummel our lawn under conditions of heavy rain. (The men had to go back and forth across our lawn to get access to the roof in the back of the house.) At the end of the job, all equipment was removed and did not sit around unnecessarily. I was particularly impressed with the company providing a port-a-potty for its workers. These are often absent at other roofing job sites in the neighborhood, which is a shame. Best of all, we were left with no complaints or problems and with a roofing job that we receive compliments on from neighbors who notice what a good job they did.
Description of Work: Complete tear-off and replace of the cedar shake roof on our 20 year old house with a new composite shingle roof and underlayment. Since Greg is certified by the manufacturer, Prime Roofing was able to offer to build the new roof to the manufacturer's highest warranty level (Certainteed's 5 Star SureStart Plus), which we chose.

Excellent. the pre-survey and estimates provided by the Prime Roofing were complete and accurate and timely. The company officer providing this service was competent, thorough and provided a number of excellent suggestions regarding the details of the issues I should consider. Lastly, Prime Roofing passed all my bid screening requirements including roofing material manufacturer certification, the Oregon CCB report (bonding, complaints, licensing), Angies list report and willingness to work with an "outside" vendor (Solatube), While Prime Roofing didn't win the job, I felt comfortable working with the representative and was happy to have had such a competent individual provide me a bid. Further, I would have been quite comfortable working with Prime Roofing had my first selection not panned out. I will keep Prime Roofing on my list if future needs arise.
Description of Work: The job was to pre-survey and provide an estimate to re-roof an existing 1800 sq ft home and attached over-sized two car and 32' RV garages. Additionally was to remove an existing chimney chase, replace a skylight, install SolaTube dome flashing (system to be provided by another vendor), and gutters.

The folks I bought my 1960 ranch house from 3.5 years ago, puttied and painted over some dry rot in the roof and under the eves (and hopefully have had bad karma ever since). I discovered this cover-up as I was getting ready to put the house on the market. I got three bids, all of which were comparable, but all with lots of unknowns, because it was impossible to determine the extent of the dry rot before getting in there. I liked Greg's easy-going, but professional manner, and hired him. He managed to get his crew on the job, and somehow, between monsoons, they tore off the entire roof, replaced rotted boards, and put humpty dumpty back together again within a week. Greg kept in regular contact with me as he made new discoveries, and let me know my options before moving forward. It was a very spendy job, but that's the nature of the beast. His guys were courteous, friendly, and cleaned up everything s*** and span each day, making sure that things were done right. The roof and accompanying repairs look fantastic, and I have no doubt that it is a top-notch job. Greg is a good guy, runs a tight ship, and I enjoyed getting to know him. I recommend Precision Roofing without hesitation.

Prime Roofing was one of 3 companies we had bid on the project - all of the companies had excellent ratings but Greg's bid was the lowest. During the bidding process, he spent hours with us discussing the various problems we wanted to fix and showing us the many options that were available. He started the project the week after we accepted the bid. The shingles we had chosen were an unusual diamond-shaped design that they had not installed before, and Greg's meticulous crew took special care to align it properly. It rained numerous times during the process but they worked on the roof in sections so that we did not have to worry about water damage. The crew was responsive to any concern that we had and Greg visited the worksite at least once per day.
Description of Work: Greg's small winter crew spent 2 weeks removing 2 layers of roofing, replacing 33 sheets of damaged plywood, repairing gable damage, constructing a new cricket around our chimney, and installing a new 50-year roof.

He not only replaced the lost shingles and replaced some shingles that were on the cusp of deteriorating, but also he re-nailed with longer nails, some of the shingles that had not been nailed down properly in a previous repair. Greg was courteous, extremely knowledgeable (he gave me important hints on future management of my roof), friendly, prompt, and efficient. Greg's honesty and integrity was, perhaps for me, his important attribute. The work was done in a matter of a few hours and in the bitter cold we had that day. The repair was limited to shingles on the ridges of the roof. But he did tell me that some of the main roof shingles were very thin and would have to be replaced in the next year or so. Since this basically would entail a re-roof, he gave me a reasonable estimate for re-roofing. The job was completed in about 2.5 hours and all debris was hauled away. Hiring Greg gave me one of the most pleasant experiences working with contractors that I have ever had.
Description of Work: During a windstorm, some cedar shingles had blown off the roof. I called Greg Anthony for an estimate and he came out that afternoon. He Said he does full roofs and some smaller repairs. He went up on the roof and gave me his estimate. He told me he could do the work in January but he called me the next day said he could come immediately, which he did.

I needed to replace the leaking 23 year-old roof on my 1925 Craftsman house. I hired Greg because he did the most thorough job of examining my roof and discussing every aspect of the project with me of the 4 companies (all high-rated on Angie's List) that I contacted for estimates. His bid was also the 2nd lowest of the 4. I ended up going with the lifetime shingle and equivalent flashing because it wasn't that much more expensive than the regular stuff. Greg let me know from the beginning that there would likely be some rot in the existing roof decking that would need replacing, at additional cost. Unfortunately, once the old roofing was removed, extensive rot was found and his crew of 4 had to spend almost two days replacing rotten wood and doing some minor repairs to the supporting woodwork. This ended up adding over $4600 to the project cost. Other than the pain of the additional cost my experience was completely positive. Greg clearly is very experienced with roofing older homes and was highly professional in his approach to the project. He kept me up to speed on all the issues that arose as they did the job and my options and costs to address them. He and his crew paid a lot of attention to all the details of the job and did high quality work.
Description of Work: Tear-off of composite and wood shingle roofing layers, replacement of rotten skip sheeting and tongue and groove roof overhangs, repair/reinforcement of rotten/sagging rafters and other woodwork, installation of plywood roof deck, installation of lifetime composite roofing.

It was good to work with you. I really appreciate that you stayed involved throughout the project. Your involvement and availability made my job easier and the project more enjoyable! This project involved the re roofing of a 1925 home. It was a 3 layer tear off with 2 composition roofs over one cedar shingle. The roof deck was skip sheeting over the attic and 1”x 4” tongue and groove in the open overhangs. The 1”x 4” T & G always has multiple layers of paint on the underneath side making it difficult to identify rot. The cedar shingles are in direct contact with the upper side of the 1”x 4” T & G and unfortunately this hidden area is where the rot is located. You can look for evidence of water and deformation of the wood but it is difficult and foolish to guess how much rot is present. (wood rot is typically more common on the south side, on lower slopes and under trees) The combination of water seeping between the layers of roofing, ants, tree debris and shade resulted in extensive damage. Thankfully the member was available so that I could show him the damaged wood each day. I offered 4 or 5 material options for replacement and the member selected the clear primed cedar. The crew replaced the rotten 1” x 4” T & G, rotten skip sheeting, re braced sagging rafters, installed ½” CDX plywood and then installed the Lifetime CertainTeed Landmark Premium. The roof is now in great shape and ready to protect the house for decades to come!

It was a pleasure to work with you ! It is not often that we get to install the Lifetime CertainTeed Landmark Solaris shingle (energy star rated) and work with a home owner that is so motivated to improve their current soffit ventilation. It was rewarding to feel the difference the added soffit ventilation and Solaris shingle made to the temperature in the attic. I look forward to hearing about your energy savings during the summer months!

He did a very good job, however the final price and result was about 50% more than the original estimate. His work is good, I just wasn't happy about the price. He is fairly new and I feel like he needed to be a lot more on the job. He did supervise his two workers, but I thought he could have watched them a little more closely. His workmanship was good, but he had them do work that I'm not positive was absolutely necessary. The original quote for the roof was $7000 but ended up costing $9000 and the gutters were $1300. I'm not happy with the cost, but I am happy with the roof. I would probably not use them again in the future.

The workers arrived on the day designated, but could not start the tear-off of the old roof because the drop box did not arrive in time. This was the only glitch in the whole process. The crew was prompt, courteous, and worked hard. Greg stopped by at least once everyday to monitor the process. He was so professional and straightforward, and was available promptly to answer any questions, or address concerns. The work took a full 7 days, which seemed long, but the job was thorough, and Greg told me it would take a week, and he was right on. The day after the roof was completed, Greg came by and did a complete inspection...climbed up on the roof, and walked around the perimeter, to be sure everything was cleaned up. For a project that is noisy, disruptive, messy, and expensive, Greg and his crew made it worthwhile.

Loved Greg and his crew. He was amazing from start to finish and the price was doubly impressive. I'm getting ready to call him again on a different house.
Description of Work: We had to replace our roof on our old home when we sold it as it was a rotten old shake shingle roof with two layors on it. The job required shingle removal and the placement of plywood for architectural composite shingles. We had a hard time finding a roofer that could complete the job before closing. Greg came to us and had the job done in a weekend while we were gone. They were blazing fast and it was amazing as it was a high pitched roof.

Throughout the entire project, from when he first looked at the house until the final inspection, Prime Roofing's president Greg Anthony demonstrated that he cared a great deal about his company's good reputation and my personal satisfaction. Greg was on site nearly every day of the two-month project. He consulted with me at every decision point, taking the time to explain my options and guiding me to the best option. And he took the time to inspect each day's work to make sure it was up to standard. When not on site, Greg was always available by phone and e-mail and was always extremely responsive to any concern I had, of which there were but a few. The crew were outstanding as well. They were hard-working and exercised a great deal of care not to damage siding, windows, landscaping and so on. Their roofing work seems very competent, but equally impressive, they cleaned up very well at the end of each day's activities. Their consideration made the long project much more tolerable than it otherwise would have been. While an expensive project, Greg's pricing was equivalent to the lowest of the other bidders, none of whom matched the combination of experience and attention to detail. (As an example, Greg spent hours doing examining all aspects of the job before submitting his bid; one of the other bidders was done in twenty minutes and didn't even get on the roof.) And when changes from the initial contract were necessary, Greg informed me every step of the way and kept exact records of the charges. Al in all, an outstanding performance by all involved. I consider myself very fortunate to have had this contractor. When I look back on how complicated the project was, and how many things could have gone wrong without proper experience and supervision, I consider myself very fortunate to have found and chosen Prime Roofing for my project. Very highly recommended.
Description of Work: A complete reroofing of a large house and associated garage, shop and garden storage areas. Work involved removing old shake roof, putting new sheathing in most areas and installing high-grade slate-look shingles and all associated flashing, skylights, etc. In all, better than 8,500 square feet of roofing was replaced.

Greg Anthony, met with me within a day or two after I spoke with him on the phone. He saw the job, a small one, and thought he could fit it in before bigger jobs because of the weather. Because this was somewhat of a different job, he said he'd get back to me with an estimate. There was an estimate that didn't include additional wood and another that did. Greg couldn't come the day the job started, but had someone else come in his place. And then Greg came the second day. We spoke at length about the roof problems....the low pitch for one and the skylights that were originally installed upside down. Greg was involved thoroughly with the job, even though it was a small one. He never rushed me and answered all questions patiently. We even had time to talk about our mutual love for our dogs.

I called Greg about water dripping from our bathroom exhaust vent, thinking that the problem might be related to the roof. Throughout the job, I worked with Greg Anthony, the owner of Prime Construction. I got three different bids for the work, and Greg's bid was the lowest. I also thought that Greg did the most thorough and best job of looking over the situation and giving me good advice. He guided me through the selection of roofing materials and advised me on what to expect throughout the job -- the tear off of the old roof and the installation of the new one. The actual work was done by Greg's crew. Throughout the process, Greg was more like a partner in a project than a contractor. He checked up on the progress every day and made sure that things were going smoothly and well. At the end of the project, the crew did a great job of clean up. Afterward, Greg and I went over everything, and it was perfect. After the roof was installed, I had some skylights installed, and Greg came by and made sure that the skylight work was done properly. Since putting on the new roof, I've received several compliments from my neighbors.

After fixing interior dry wall in two place I decided it was time to replace my shake roof. There were some replacements taking place in the neighborhood, most by the same outfit. When I looked them up here, I found that they had done a lot of roofs but that satisfaction wasn't very high. Instead of going with the same company as the rest of the neighborhood, I selected three from Angie's list based on overall satisfaction and comments from previous users and then asked for estimates from those three. The range in estimates for the same work was 11K to 16K. The provider of the lowest estimate did not come across as professional and frankly didn't seem interested in my business. Of the remaining two, one was a large company with a very good reputation and the other was Prime Roofing also with a very good reputation according to previous Angie's reports. So why did I select Prime Roofing? I like contractors who set expectations based on realistic scenarios not on bested case scenarios. Greg from Prime Roofing walked through several scenarios and the cost associated with them, i.e. finding dry rot & changes in price based on the rapidly increasing price of oil and educated me on what realistically to expect. I also felt Greg did a very good job of understanding my goals and creating a solution that made the most sense for my objectives. I put a lot of detail and thought into describing the selection process above because once we selected Prime Roofing, the re-roofing ran smoothly and there wasn't much else to comment on. We did run into a few delays, none of which were Prime Roofing related. The first was a delay in getting product as we selected one of the energy star rated solutions that was not available locally. The second was a delay in finishing the project due to some of the product being delivered damaged. Personally, I would rather have a few day delay because the team spotted the damaged shingles then to have them finish on time with sub par product. Greg followed up a week after the roof was complete to get our feedback and also to get up on the roof and check it out himself. Overall, we are very pleased with the process and professionalism from Prime Roofing, and the end result. Our new roof looks great, we even drive around the neighborhood looking at the other new roofs and frequently comment "ours looks way better than that one."

It went very smoothly. Greg had explained the process during the quote - his professionalism and helping me understand everything that would be done made me pick his company, along with his Angies' List rating. He started the project about 10-14 days after the quote and it lasted the length of time he said. His team was very good at cleaning up each day and the property was very clean when they finished. Several neighbors are interested in replacing their roofs and I will definitely refer them to him.
