Phil's Fireplace

He came as planned and was at the house for approximately one hour. He completely redid the fireplace including cleaning out and repainting and moving all the logs around. He did a great job!

Had problem getting fireplace lit and Phil came back promptly to fix the problem.

How refreshing to meet someone who still embodies the spirit of real craftsmanship in their work! The stove not only functions beautifully but the fire looks better than ever due to their great attention to detail. They refreshed a dull interior with new paint and added lovely little 'embers' for a more natural glow at the base of the fire. The fire is much more enjoyable after the amazing glass cleaning they did to remove the old 'fog' that had accumulated over the years. Phil's is now my 'go to' guy for gas stoves.

The previous home owners had never maintained the gas fireplace. It was very dirty, dusty & covered in soot to the point of being unable to see into it or use it. They thoroughly cleaned & updated the fireplace. Even coming back to add rocks and improve the appearance of the logs, embers, etc. It looks wonderful now and works great. I was very happy with the professionalism & attention to detail. Definitely will work with Phil's Fireplace again for maintenance.

Phenomenal. Phil ranks in the 99th percentile of all contractors I work with - which says alot as I am a real estate developer who deals with contractors all day long.

It would be really hard to find this level of service elsewhere. Phil runs his own business and turns up to do the work. He spent well over an hour working on a single fireplace and making it function properly (it was sooting up) and making it look beautiful (spray painting the backing and cleaning every part thoroughly). He takes pride in his work and is a pleasure to deal with.

Both the owner and his assistant were on time, very respectful of both our home but also our time. They did an excellent job and put in the extra time to explain what they were doing and what they did. They also asked about spraying black paint to correct some blemishes inside the fireplace; they were concerned about the odor and wanted to make sure we were okay with it before they proceeded. The greatest thing about using them -- they exceeded expectations and they didn't try to sell us 'upgrades' or anything. It was a welcomed relief. I would use them again -- for any job!

He was on time and very polite. Our fireplace looks brand new and is working properly! We will definitely use him again!

The technician was prompt and very professional. He thoroughly cleaned the gas log unit, the glass and metal surround, inspected the unit. It has worked perfectly since. I would definitely use this company again.

Phil is great, very friendly and helpful. The job ended up being frustrating and obviously we had to pay him for more than the $99 special since he ended up repairing a few things.

Everything was fine. Phil's was real good about contacting our tenant to make an appointment, plus staying in contact with me about any particulars. We will definitely use this company again.

Had to call him back because it wasn't working properly but he came and repaired it. I felt that the parts and labor were a bit expensive.

Phil did not fix my fireplace problem. He is a nice guy so he gets an A for that and said he would call around other people in the business that might know what was wrong with my fireplace but when I emailed him a few days later, he said that he had not heard back from anyone yet. It looks pretty and the glass is clean but it still doesn't work, that's why I called him. I?ll change my review if he comes back to fix it.

Our fireplace had not been turned on since 2009/2010 and really needed to be cleaned and inspected. The logs had shifted over time and the black paint inside had cracked and was pealing. And the glass was grungy. Phil's Fireplace was having a half off special discount on cleaning gas inserts. I bought the special, set up a time and he showed up promptly on time. He was very knowledgable, efficient and quick. Everything was vacuumed out, dusted, cleaned and the black repainted black. It looks brand new. While he was cleaning he found that there was a problem with the starter/ pilot light assembly that made turning on the fireplace non existent. He said he needed to see if the new assemblies could be retrofitted to the old system that I have. If yes, then 100$ repair, if not, then the price to fix the fireplace would be around 300$. Since I was not expecting a repair event I told him to go ahead and clean it out and I would give him a call when I had the money for the fix. I really liked the work Phil did and will definitly be calling him back to fix the fireplace when I have the funds.

The fireplaces look beautiful. The glass is shiny and clear. He repainted the back of the fireplace, rearranged logs in one case, and checked the gas unit, burner, pilot, etc. He arrived promptly on time & was neat & tidy. Also his work is guaranteed for a year, and if we call him for a service call, there would be no charge except for any parts required.

First, it was very difficult to get an appointment but I think that was because the deal had them very busy. When we finally arranged a time, he was on time and very efficient. I mentioned the igniter wasn't working and he made some calls and finally said he didn't know what the issue was and would do some research and get back to me. He never did. We had another service come out and told him of the problem and he said we just needed to change the batteries and it worked fine. I hesitate to right negative reviews so I emailed Phil's Fireplace and I got no response. The other company was $119 but knew all we needed to do was replace the batteries. This is a pretty standard gas insert.

The provider came in fully prepared to clean and polish the whole fireplace. He very carefully covered the whole floor area in front of the fireplace. He made sure to leave his shoes at the door. He dismantled the glass front and polished it, inside and out. Refreshed the embers in the tray to make them look more real and polished the brass front rails as well as the vents into the house and checked the exhaust vent out of the house. He was personable and friendly. He showed great pride in his work and enjoy his job. I feel confident in his work.

Phil and his associate kept me apprised of their arrival time. Right on time! Placed liners on the floor so nothing would happen to my carpet, and went right to work. Replaced the "embers", which help make the fire look so real, vacuumed, and repainted the insides, cleaned the glass, and whatever else needed to be done. What was especially helpful was his pleasant, helpful attitude. Never having a gas fireplace before, he gave instructions for the whole process, and what to look for in the future. Told the fan might need replacing somewhere down the road, and informed that these fireplaces never need to be replaced! If it seemingly doesn't work, it might be that over the warm months, a tiny spider might have found its way into the oriface, and clogged the line. An honest businessman is a wonderful thing. One can be found here. Definitely recommend this company!

Phil did a great job. He worked quickly. His customer service is spectacular! The fireplace works like new. I would definitely recommend.

It was Phenomenal. The gas fireplace looks like it's new. The flames show a orange glow and no blue flame. He rearranged all the rock so it looks very nice. He clearly like his work, was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Phil and his assistant protected the floor (they even took their shoes off at the door!), brought all supplies, cleaned up everything. Very responsive to my questions. Cleaned and checked all the parts. He made sure that I knew where the safety shut off was and that I knew how to access it. Phil was very clear that I could contact him at any time if I had a question and that he is happy to have my business and hopes that I will consider him a resource for information and future work. The work he did is guaranteed for a year. I'm very happy with the service and with my clean fireplace!

Everything went fantastic! We were fully prepared to pay extra above and beyond the "Big Deal Special" but Phil did not charge us any extra. He seemed very committed to save money for his customers. It was a welcome treat. The fireplace was in poor shape, and was no longer working. Now it looks absolutely new and works perfectly! Highly recommended.
