Phil's Fireplace

Phil was great. Took his time to make the fire place look like new. did far more than I expected.

Phil arrived right on time with a big smile of greeting. When he came in, he took off his shoes and laid down a drop cloth in front of the fireplace. He disassembled the door and inner parts of the fireplace, cleaned them thoroughly, painted the interior, replaced the parts, added rock wool for more embers, and rewired the fan. Phil was very knowledgeable, courteous, personable and extremely thorough in his work. He truly did an excellent job, and my fireplace looks even more beautiful than it did before. I very highly recommend Phil's Fireplace and will most definitely use this service again! Phil deserves the highest rating possible!

He came on time, Very courtesy gentleman to me and my wife. explain his procedure then asked if we had any concerns. He then preformed his service and addressed our concerns. clean up his work area. I think its was an great service/job Side note. the spray that is used to darken the background up the fireplace should be told to home owners in advance to have ventilation ready to go. . .. Meaning windows open .. heat off. I give this two thumbs up

Phil is really busy so I was thrilled when he could get to us the same week I called. He was running a little late but called well in advance of our appointment. I sure appreciated that courtesy. Phil & Dan arrived as expected and within 45 minutes everything in the fireplace was removed, cleaned, one piece was painted, adjusted and the embers were painstakingly set. Because it's a ventless system we asked what to expect and Phil made some great suggestions that we'd never would have considered. Very kind and respectful guys who were meticulous about what they were doing and cleaning up after themselves. Awesome experience! We'll be repeat customers and plan to have them back every year just to maintain our fireplace.

Not much to say. Phil promptly contacted me to setup time to meet. Showed up on time with his co-worker. Got to work. Did what he said he was going to do. Explained it to me and then took off. Can't ask for more than that!

fine. Was at the house for an hour. Added a second fire place while he was here. A bit expensive for the amount of time spent, but work was done to my satisfaction..

Phil and his helper arrived on time and had all the required tools and equipment to accomplish a professionally well done job. Phil and his helper put down drop cloths to protect our carpet and cleaned the insert and the surrounding area. Well done, thank you Phil!

Phil and Daniel did a great job! They were very professional, courteous, and helpful. We've been having problems turning on the insert for over the past year. It usually took several clicks of the switch, and sometimes we had to press the igniter button. But Phil found that it was a loose connection and fixed that. The insert switches on perfectly now. They also replaced the embers and the fireplace looks good as new. We use it almost every evening during the late fall and winter months, so we're very grateful to Phil and Daniel! We'll definitely call them again next year for an annual maintenance visit,

I was fortunate to obtain service for our gas fireplace by an Angie?s List deal from Phil?s Fireplace for $99. However, even without a deal I would call upon Phil to service it in the future. He answered all calls personally, arrived relatively prompt (still gave him an A), and was friendly and professional. Phil tested all components of the fireplace, tested for gas leaks, replaced all of the wire terminal heads since one wire had a loose connection, cleaned the glass and control cavity, followed by the addition of embers for that perfect flame. Phil asked if I had any questions and answered each one thoroughly.

We had been wanting to get the get the gas fireplace looked at and inspected for a while now. Saw the Angies list Big Deal for Phils' Fireplace, read the reviews and decided this was for us. We bought the Big deal on 21/1/14 and Phil called us on 12/3/14 to set up an appointment for 12/8/14 at 9:00 AM. He arrived at the exact appointed time and got right to work. He and his assistant laid down work tarps in front of the fireplace and proceeded to remove all the removeable items in the fireplace like the fake logs and embers. Then Phil proceeded to paint the interior of the Fireplace while his helper began cleaning the glass door - inside and out. After he was done painting the interior of the fireplace, Phil began placing new "embers" and fluffing them up and arranging them. After he got that done, he arranged the fake logs back into the fireplace and started it up. he then cleaned the exterior of the fireplace and underneath it. He mentioned that my fireplace was actually set up for a small fan to blow the heat out into the living area and was i aware of that. I was NOT aware of that and had thought many times that it would be nice if i could get the heat out more into the living area. So he is checking on the availability of a fan and will get back to me latter on that. After Phil was all done cleaning, he checked for gas leaks and combustion leaks and then closed it up. The Fireplace NEVER has looked so good, even when we moved in seven years ago. Phil did a FABULOUS job and I would not hesitate to use him again. Very professional, quick and a nice, easy going person to boot. The total time from when he walked in the door till the time he walked out the door was 30 to 35 minutes. And when he left, I had a safe, beautiful, new looking gas fireplace. Thanks Phil on a job well done!

Terrific! He was on time, and quickly got to work. Our gas fireplace has never started properly, and would take several attempts to keep it lit. When he arrived it was not working at all. He was quick, efficient, clean and got it running like a top. Better than it's ver worked before. On top of that, he guarantees his work for a full year - what a deal! Love this guy!

Phil was very nice and easy to deal with during the process. He kept everything really clean and the work was completed in under an hour.

I used the Deal for $99 and was very pleased. It was super easy to contact the company and set up an appointment within a very short time. Phil was very prompt, friendly and professional. It was obvious he knew his business well. In fact he is the owner of the business and was great about giving me advice on how to save money in the future. He cleaned and serviced my gas stove and helped explain my remote control better than the original company was able to do. He gave me some tips to keep the glass clean and maintained. Phil was prompt, professional, courteous, and did a great job. He cleaned the the logs and cinders, the burners and vents, and polished the glass. He even touched up the paint inside the fireplace where it was cracked and peeling. He explained how to light the pilot and suggested that we install a fan below the fireplace to help with circulation. We don't have much experience with gas fireplace, so we are very grateful for Phil's expertise. See you next year, Phil!

Went great! Phil is top-notch, and knows his stuff.

Phil was very polite and helpful. It took a couple of weeks to complete the fireplace cleaning due to a problem he had with his work car. He did call in advance of his first appointment to let me know and rescheduled at that time. At the time of the visit he was very clean and neat and conducted his work quickly. The fireplace works much more efficiently now.

The technician arrived on time at my son's house and was very courteous. He was extremely proficient in his trade and was careful to keep our carpets clean while he worked. The gas company had previously diagnosed our problem as being a $300 valve. He said that he tests all fireplaces, even if they have been previously diagnosed with a problem. Instead, he discover a faulty wall switch, which saved us hundreds of dollars. He told us about the care and up keep of fireplaces as he worked. He answered all of our questions and guaranteed his work for a year. Great price, great work, and great customer service! I highly recommend them.

After contacting 2 separate providers, one listed in Angie's List, I contacted Phil to explain my living room gas fireplace coming on but the flames are barely there even at full gas valve setting. The other vendors both said it was a gas control valve that needed to be replaced but when I explained to Phil he said, even without looking, that it's likely due to clogged gas pipes. And sure enough he was right, he came out today and cleaned up spider webs and clogged valves and even did touch up point on the fireplace and all is working great. The other Angie's list vendor had already taken $90 for diagnosis and wanted additional $425 for gas control valve replacement. Phil, on the other hand, fixed evertyhing for $125. He is super nice and one of the most honest provider I've ran across. I've a lifetime customer and would recommend him HIGHLY.

Phil is friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. He accommodated my schedule and was thorough with his work. When he discovered that a hard-to-reach part needed repair, he took down information on the fireplace unit (which is an older model) so he could research how best to repair it. Phil is safety conscious and made sure that the unit was completely shut off so our home was safe until he returned to make the repair. Less than a week later, Phil was back. He fixed the problem and now we can enjoy a beautiful, evenly lit fire just in time for the winter weather. He answered all my questions and encouraged me to call with any more. His work comes with a 1-year warranty, which is great, too. I asked for a bunch of Phil's cards and will be sharing them with friends and family. Thanks, Phil!

Phil was running late that day but he did call me twice to let me know and once he got there, I couldn't have been more impressed. He did his work professionally and happily. I wish everyone worked that way.

Phil called to confirm the appointment and arrived right on time, actually a little early! He was a true professional, very friendly and helpful and we were very thankful that he could fix our non-working fireplace so quickly. We also needed our living room fireplace worked on, but he needed additional parts for that so we scheduled another appointment. We recommend him very highly!

Phil was exceptional! He arrived on time, protected my floor with a cloth, and did a thorough job of cleaning every part of the fireplace. He carefully laid out the logs so he could put them back in the right order. He also repainted the back of the fireplace that had scratches on the surface. Phil was very polite and gave me a lot of good information about the maintenance and operation of the fireplace. I will definitely call him again next year for the annual checkup!
