MLP Plumbing Co

It turned out that it wasn't a faulty faucet, but the water being turned off by a different plumber during a recent renovation. MLP didn't just change the faucet, but figured out why there was no water, turned it back on, and all for no additional charge.

We played phone tag for a while, when I was able to talk to him, he was brisk and not very friendly. When he came to the house he did the job, it works great, but his customer service was lacking. He complained that the faucet want what he thought it would be, complained that he would have to go under the house, and in general was not a friendly plumber.

I needed the faucet replaced and contacted MLP plumbing as they had a coupon on Angie's list. He responded to my order request quickly and was punctual for the set appointment. But, the minute he arrived, he started adding costs to the coupon. The $80 job was now a $250.00 job. I did not have MLP Plumbing perform the work.

Straight forward replacement. In 10 minutes we had a new faucet.

Marvin was prompt, and did an excellent job. I had to get a freze-proof faucet to replace the existing one, so that's why it cost extra. He worked very hard, under difficult circumstances (the faucet was in a far corner of the basement behind an oil tank...). The job was completed in 2 hours, after Marvin had to run up and down the stairs and climbed on top of the large tank!. I was impressed.

All went well. He came when he said he would be here. He charged what he said it would cost and he cleaned up after himself. I think it was a fair price for the work done.

First of all let me just say that 240.00 for an easy simple job to me is crazy. The plumber arrived at approximately 10:30 and was here til 11:30. The per hourly rate is $125.00. I was charged for an hour and a half at this rate. Now I know they add travel time but shouldn't that time be at a lower rate? You're not doing any plumbing work just driving. However what really upset me was soon after the plumber left I started a load of wash and all the spin water poured out of the drain all over my floor. My washer drain in my laundry room is right next to my kitchen. Coincidence? Not relared to clearing of kitchen drain just before? I don't think so. Fixing one problem should not cause another. In any case I immediately called and left an urgent message on MLP's voice mail explaining what hapoened and to call me asap. Never called back and have yet to get a call from them. Very, very poor customer service. I would never call them again for any reason.

Marvin was great. He worked diligently and cleaned up after. Appeared very friendly.

The old toilet was removed and a new toilet was installed to my satisfaction. However, when I told Marvin that the deal included removal of the old toilet meaning he had to take it away, he said that the deal did not include disposal of the toilet. But your ad indicates that the old toilet will be take away, but it is vague and I can see it is confusing. But, why would I contract MLP for $175 when you have a competing deal that installs a new toilet for $75 and clearly states that the old toilet will not be remove from the premises? To Marvin's credit he did take the old unit with him and said he would clarify the deal with Angie's List. Angie's List needs to clearly state that the old equipment will be removed from the premises for disposal....or not.

He also showed me how to turn off the water at the street, which was very helpful as the house's main water shut off was impossible to reach and the street water meter was stuck. This educational piece was honestly as valuable as the hose faucet replacement. Thanks!

They came on time and were able to fit me in extremely quick. There was just a misunderstanding about the Big Deal so I had to get a refund but they were extremely professional.

They were fine. There were additional fees because when he tried to take the faucet off, it broke underneath the house so he had to go underneath the crawlspace. That was another $200 although he did tell me ahead of time that if that if that happened there would be an additional cost of exactly $200. He was very upfront. Even with the added cost, they were still very competitive with other quotes I got.

It was a bear to get removed from the house and the access to get under the house was not easy to get to. He did a great job very thorough.

The job went very well. The work was excellent. Marvin, the principal of MLP plumbing, replaced the old spigot that had an strange leaky device attached, had a strange thread, and seemed impossible to be removed. He removed it and replaced it. The new spigot is better than the old one and is working perfectly. He did the job rapidly while I stood watching. Everyone is delighted that we do not have to keep a water bucket under the faucet. I plan to use MLP PLumbing's services again.

Marvin was on time and installed new disposal in time told it would take. He was very reasonably priced.

He did a good job connecting the old pipes to new ones. Unfortunately the interior faucet for the front began to leak and caused sheet rock damage.

did not have the proper parts and I had to run to home depot to buy the parts he needed. He took a third hour to complete the job, I received an additional bill on top of the two hous I purchased. another angie's list sucker punch.

Plumber arrived and inspected the leaking hose bib. He found that the previous work done was performed incorrectly and he needed to go under the house to disconnect and replace the entire pipe. The stripped threads on the hose connector on the old pipe had damaged my hose. He suggested I purchase a new coupling to save the hose and reconnect it to the new hose bib. He performed his work in a careful, methodical manner and completed it in 2 1/2 hours. I paid an additional $25 for a travel fee from Beaverton to Vancouver. Job well done - thank you!

The provider did a good job on the burst pipe repair in the garage. We had asked him to cut or modify (whatever was needed) the pipe coming out of the wall in the bathroom so that we could move the vanity all the way against the wall. Not sure what he did, but we were able to move the vanity closer but still not all the way to the wall. And now one of the drawers doesn't fully close because it is blocked by a pipe. I feel like the provider should have considered this when making the adjustments and let me know up front of any potential problems. Instead, at the end of his work time, he just showed me that the drawer wouldn't close any more.

All went well. Service was scheduled for the day after my initial call. Challenges with the installation were resolved during the same day, and he kept to his quoted estimate. His prices are reasonable too. We would use him again!

Marvin does very good work in a timely manner. He arrives on time and is quite skilled in his performance. He is personable & professional. Recommend that customer confirm appointment day/time by phone w/him a few days ahead of time.

Naturally it was on a Sunday morning, but upon checking Angie's List we found several well-rated plumbers who worked on Sunday. Deciding to call Marvin, he said he could be out within an hour, hour and a half, and he was. We showed him the problem (it had started raining hard by then and of course this was outdoors), he got the equipment he needed and went to work. He cleaned up his work area and was very fair in his pricing. He was courteous and very efficient and we will make him our go-to plumber in the future. He certainly saved the day for us, thank you, Marvin!
