Description of Work: This was a project to install and rewire a low voltage lighting system that was only partially working. The young man arrived on time told me his approach and how we might prevent water from entering the wiring. He also gave me tips shoudl i want to add to the system later. The he did the work in the time promised. Great experience.

I bought a special $99.00 for 2 hours of work...Doug came out and checked out the scope of the work so everything was ready for the work to be done. Brian did the work and was prompt, professional, and did a great job. I only had him do dimmers and replace a light with a recessed light but I have other more complicated work and will call them for that in the future.

 + 0 moreI bought 2 hours of labor for $100, about half-price. Seemed like a good deal. Two electricians arrived just a little late and got to work. It took them about 1 1/2 hours, the work was done correctly, and it works. But, because of the travel time I ended up paying another $100 for labor, which I didn't expect.
Description of Work: Add a second outdoor light to existing switch. Run wires through attic and down wall between studs.

Description of Work: I had a light changed in the stairwell, which required an extra man to do the job for the high part. I purchased a Big Deal for $99 and then paid for the extra man to help out. The deducted time for travel time off of the Big Deal purchase.

 + -1 moreThis is the second time I have used Mike's for electrical work. Aaron has been out both times. This time it was to install outlets for two sump pumps and a dehumidifier after having a crawl space encapsulation (clean space/completely sealed crawl space). Aaron arrived on schedule and after a quick consult of what I was wanting done and where it would be, he got to work. Overall it took about 3 hours to drill through studs in the garage for the wire, pull the wire to the crawl space, wire it up down there, tie it to the panel and then test the circuits/connect the sump pumps. I would not hesitate to use them again, very professional and quality work.
Description of Work: Installed two circuits and three outlets in crawl space for two sump pumps and a dehumidifier.

Installed two ceiling fans without any difficulity. (The electrician was familiar with the fan and its installation process.) Cut hardwood flooring and sub-floor without any difficulity. Each step of the way, the electricians cleaned up after themselves. I would use them for future work and recommend them to neighbors.

 + -1 moreTwo men arrived and completed the job--it was a deal for 2 hours of electrical work for $99. Parts were extra. Extra worker was also more $$. My complaint was in the length of time it took for 2 men to complete the one job. It seemed they planned to take the entire 2 hours and then some from the 'get-go'. I would not purchase another 'deal' like this--certain number of hours for a set fee (plus extras).
Description of Work: Ceiling light in garage was converted from a pull chain to a wall switch.

 + -1 moreThe electrician had to figure out why the fan wasn't working. It took quite awhile to troubleshoot (about an hour). He went to the store to get the part we needed and did an efficient job at changing out the parts. In all, it took a lot longer than I thought it should. I thought it cost more than what I ended up getting.

 + -1 moreThe worker arrived about 40 minutes late, because he was not told he was supposed to be in Gresham at 8:30 and left the shop in Beaverton when he reported to work at 8 a.m. This was a problem as I had an appointment at 9 a.m. which I could not change and had to leave my 13-year-old daughter to let him in (I did this only after speaking to the shop and being assured they were licensed, bonded and had background checks and it should be safe to do so.) However, when he arrived he went right work and repaired the items I requested very professionally. I was very pleased with the work and the worker was very pleasant and efficient. I would hire him again to do any electrical work I might need.
Description of Work: This was an Angie's Deal so the cost was half price. I had a ceiling fan light and pull switch repaired and a lamp rewired. It took about 40 min. less than the 2 hours allowed, but I did not have further projects to do.

 + -1 moreI called Mike's to asked about their coupon of $99.00 special. I told him what I wanted done and he set up the appointment for the next day. He came out went right to work. Did the job correctly, as it was suppose to have been done in the first place. I had paid another electrician $900.00 to do what Mike's did for $99.00!! I will hire Mike's again they are honest and do the job correctly !
Description of Work: Mike's was very responsive and came out to vent out our bathroom fan, which I had already paid another electrician to enstall a new fan and they did not vent it out in the attice, which he said he did, but really did not. Mike's also swiitched out a fan from one of the bedroom's and place it in the T.V. room. Then replace the bedroom with new lighting and then fixed the outside flood light with a new one.

 + -1 moreWe were really pleased with the experience and would highly recommend Mikes Electeic to anyone considering some work in this area. Recommend getting a couple of estimates before you decide on the one to hire. They were very prompt in billing and gave us the Angie's discount.
Description of Work: We were having problems with certain switches flipping off in our main electrical panel and we had Mikes Electric come out and take a look. Our panel was the original one circa 1964. Doug came out and looked over the situation and clearly explained our options. We decided to replace it with a new one and add some extra spaces for future additions. Doug emailed us an estimate within 24 hours and their estimate was less than half of the second electrical contractor who came out and claimed it would take two days. The two electricians from Mikes that showed up the day of service did a fabulous job and finished within the time frame they said. Our electrical service was only off for about six hours. No inconvenience to us.

They answered my questions and took the time to provide estimates though I hadn't included that as part of the scheduled appointment. Later, after I received the bill, I had a question about the charges, and Darrell M. (the other one there), courteously and professionally worked through the numbers and ended making a small adjustment in my favor that he could just as easily have argued against. I can't think of a single way they could have been more responsive or easier to work with. I am not sure if I have had another professional engagement of that caliber.

Both low key and efficient and took the time to answer any questions I had. Work likely not complicated for an electrician but very glad to have these small jobs completed.
Description of Work: replace two outdoor lights (porch and spotlight on upper corner of house) with dusk to dawn motion sensor lights, enclosed exposed electrical wires so safe, and checked out light switch which appeared to be defective (it wasn't).

 + -1 moreWe were a little dissapointed in that we thought we'd get 2 hours of an electrician's time. Instead we had an electrician with someone who came and helped and so we only got 1 hours' time (2 people) so we needed him for more than the hour. He did good work, but we could have done a lot of what his helper did. (Put the electrical covers back on)
Description of Work: We had electrical outlets replaced. We'd bought new ones already and had the old outlet covers off, so that they were ready to go.
