Mike's Electric

When electrician came out I explained that I needed to somehow get lighting into some very dark display shelves and didn't want to spend a lot of money wiring the shelves. He came up with some creative ways to redirect the ceiling lights to get lots of light into the shelves. He was very professional, creative and sensitive to my budget.

The estimate was a breeze, they had a solution for what I need. We have an older house so I was worried about plaster repair and getting wires ran through the kitchen but they identified a solution which involved a wireless switch. No plaster repair was necessary and now we have can lights in our kitchen over our sink and work/prep counter. Both of these areas were using wall-mount spot lights from IKEA. The new lights look much better. The wireless switch for the 3 way switch in the stairway ended up not working consistently so they promptly came out and hard wired the switches. Everything works well with minimal damage to the walls.

I contacted Mike's Electric initially by email and they followed up by phone, scheduled a visit for an Angie's List deal. They were responsive and helpful on the phone. They arrived on time, were knowledgeable and exceeded our expectations. The job was first to install a pendant lamp over our kitchen table. They did that, as well as checked multiple outlets to make sure they were safe and to tighten them up / replace them as we have young children. Truly an exceptionally helpful and professional company, absolutley no hesistation in using them again or recommending them.

The work was done on-time and to our satisfaction. Mike's Electric help us co-ordinate an appliance delivery/installation and did other work on the list during the wait for the appliance. We added a few items of work during the day and the price was still close to the estimate.

We really liked them. They were professional, courteous, punctual and thorough. I think that part of what we like about them is that we can ask questions. They are knowledgeable and they took the time to answer those questions.

The electricians that performed the whole house inspection were thorough and knowledgable, answered questions, and made appropriate suggestions for improvements. While they were there, they replaced a faulty switch, as well as pointed out where an exhaust fan was unplugged and not being utilized. They took details regarding some other work we were interested in and got back to us with a quote within a few days. Great service, and I would use them again!

Aaron arrived on time, we discussed our situation and he went to work. He was polite and professional and answered our questions.

Donny arrived on time and got right to work. The entire job took five hours and came in within the estimate. Donny was both professional & friendly and finished the work in an efficient manner. Mike's continues to be our go to business for electrical work.

I used an Angies List Big Deal for 2 hours of electrical work which came to $196. Thought that would be enough for one electrical box and one cable box especially since he was using the wiring from the boxes on the other side of the wall. They came out and started explaining all this wiring stuff to me that I have no idea he is talking about. I told him just to put in a box for cable and electric so I could plug in TV. They did. Then I get the bill and see that it has cost be in addition to the $196 another $395! Thats almost $600 for i electrical outlet and one cable! I call and they tell me about the "fine print" in the big deal of having to pay an apprentice labor as well as another electrician. Still $600?? Plus the cable doesn't even work. I call and was told they would figure something out but they never get back to me. Finally they do and decide to reduce the charge by $178 so I pay $416 total. That is ridiculously high amount for the little work. I could have my cable company install the box for $25. I will NEVER use them again and I have told everyone I know about the scam they have going. Angies List should check into that as well.

A circuit failed one weekend and I thought I would have to replace it. I called Mike's, the electrician called back and gave me some advice which fixed the problem immediately. I had my power back and he didn't have to come out. This was his advice: If you can easily flip your circuit breaker switch between OFF and nearly all the way ON, try pushing a little harder toward ON, It requires more force than I'd been using to get the switch all the way ON.

I am an older woman (still with a lot of living to do) that has no concept of electrical issues. I have a few rentals and always worry when I think I need to call an electrician or plumber. I have had friends that have told me horror stories of trying to find reputable people. My Renter called and said their "circuit breakers" kept tripping. I called "Mikes Electric and they were so nice. Infact they discussed possibilities of what was happening to the breakers over the phone and noted I could try those things first. How sweet and how refreshing. I was worried that I didnt want it to be some type of wiring problem and asked for the visit. Everything went great. they were out the next day. Checked everything and did find that it was possibly overloading the plugins. Gave good information to the renters so it will not happen again. I felt good. I will use Mikes Electric for all my electrical needs. It gives me peace of mind to know that if there is an issue I have a professional to call that I will give me a good assessment with follow thru at a very fair price. I am totally satisfied. The team at Mikes was great. They quickly figured out the problem and fixed it. It turns out I had critters chewing my line. Team Mike's repaired the cable. They are prompt, courteous and efficient.

It went very well overall. I would use their services again.

I had them install a whole-house surge protector. They did excellent work and I appreciated that they cleaned up after themselves.

The workers were prompt, thorough, and worked extremely hard all day long. They went out of their way to explain what they were doing, and even put in an extra outlet for me. At the end of the day, they cleaned up well and left everything as it was when they came. I'm very happy with the work they did, and also with the communication and customer service I've received when calling and emailing. Everyone I've spoken with has been incredibly friendly and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them in for future projects.

II had used a promotional coupon last Fall and was pleased with the work Mike's Electric performed for me on a rental property. So when one of my "mushroom" lights shorted out last month, I called them again .....and this time I was disappointed. I felt sorry for the young man who came, who had to be down on his hands & knees on the sidewalk on a cold rainy day! He thought the problem was a broken socket, but after replacing it, none of the 4 lights worked. After another hour or so, he had two working, and had to leave for another appointment and suggested I might want to hire someone to dig the trench that would be necessary before he could finish the job on the other two (probably less expensive than having electrician do), and the office would phone me with an estimate of cost to finish the job. I think it will be prohibitive. I'll probably opt for solar replacements, but wish I had been advised before investing over $200 for a partial solution.

I very much appreciated the professionalism and willing attitude of the electrician who came to my own. Even though I had just a small job that was completed with the 2 hours of work for $99 certificate I got on Angies List I will definately contact this company in the future for all my electrical needs!

The electrician showed up on time and with all the tools and wire necessary for the job. He spent about 15 minutes listening to me explain what I wanted done and some other work that I was thinking about having done. Following our discussion, he immediately got to work making sure the electricity was off, removing the old the lights. He then proceeded in to ceiling and assessed the wireing. He informed me of the bad condition and suggested that it be replaced to ensure that it would not start a fire, also he noticed that the ground wire was missing. I gave the go-ahead to replace the wire and complete installing the new lights. The entire job took just under two hours and was clean up as if he was never there. I would strongly recommend Mike's Electric to anyone needing electrical work. I am going to have them back out to replace my electrical service panel, when the time comes.

They arrived on time and did a great job installing two light fixtures for use. Would recommend them!

Great JOB! The tech knew his stuff and got the switch and fan installed very quickly. I have used Mike's before and they always have done a great job! On the gable fan, he even made a suggestion I would never have thought of that made the job more effective for me. If I had done this, I wouldn't have even thought of his approach!

We needed a chandler installed on a 20 foot ceiling. The crew showed up on time. They had to bring in a very tall ladder and were very careful about getting into and out of the house. The crew worked with us (well my wife) to get the height just were she wanted. Very professional.

Two young men showed up for the repair, and confirmed the light could be fixed, but after buying replacements on the off chance the original light couldn't be fixed, we decided to replace both lights and replace with the new ones. Since we paid for two hours, I knew we would be closer to only an hour's worth of time, so I was really pleased that one of the electricians asked about replacing the switch for the dishwasher, as well as one light switch. This still was well under the two hours, but we really appreciated their proactive attitude. We are very satisfied with the service we received and will definitely use Mike's for any future electrical work.
