Mike's Electric

One area of our main electrical box was not working. This caused our alarm system and and the lights in an out building not to work. I made an appointment with Mile's Electrice after checking Angie's List. Tom arrived at appointed time , found problem and proceeded with repair. He was very knowledgable and effecient. He made some electrical changes for me to consider in the future. A very pleasant person.

Overall I was very pleased. Would certainly use again and will recommend to my friends.

Two electricians showed up and did some minor trouble shooting of which we were able to resolve and install the new fixtures in a timely manner.

The job was very well done. The electricians were very clean in performing their work. They were easy to talk with and understood what I wanted done. They made sure everything was working, looked good and the areas where work was done were clean

Arrived on time, a few minutes early, went straight to work and finished promplty. Checked all my outlets as a curtosey and gave me an estimate of repairs. Left my house after cleaning up. Super company and very professional.

This was the first time we had ever purchased and used an Angie's List coupon, so we were nervous about how it would all work out. But, Mike's Electric's management of the promotional offer was very organized, as they had our name and coupon number when I called to schedule our appointment. The staff was friendly on the phone and when they visited the house. Based on the professionalism we experienced and the completion of the job to our satisfaction, we would use their services again.

It was a good experience. I will have them back again, as there is still a bit more work to do.

Mike responded quickly to our call, fixed the outlets and replaced those that needed replacing, and gave us good advise.

I called up Mike's and anticipated that I would be dealing with the problem for a while until I could get a service date. They set me up with an appointment for the next morning. Brian, the electrician showed up on time, diagnosed the issue in just a few moments (I had a breaker go bad) and had the whole thing fixed and ready to go in under an hour.

I felt like I received "priority" treatment. Employee (1) arrived on time, (2) completed upgrade in less then an hour, (3) exhibited very professional behavior, (4) patiently answered other electrical questions, (5) and cleaned up at job's end. Plus, the bill was lower then the estimate. A perfect job. And, will be called on my future electrical needs.

Our furnace thermostat was not responding so we were afraid that our ceiling heat system had finally died on us. When I called a furnace repair company they recommended I call an electrician. So I went to Angie's List to find some highly rated companies to call. The first company I called said they couldn't come out for a couple of days, and since it was February that wouldn't do it for us. Then I called Mike's Electric and they told me they had a man in the area and he could come over that same day. Since I was not home when he and his assistant/partner arrived I can't give any of the details of the work or the conversation. But the the broken thermostat had been put in by another electrician who didn't know what he was doing or didn't care how he did it. The wires were all twisted inside the wall which caused them to short out but luckily didn't start a fire in the wall, but it did make the mechanism useless. Consequently, no heat. Mike's electricians replaced the thermostat. They didn't have a programmable unit like the one we had, but we were so glad because we didn't like that kind anyway and were planning to replace it with the manual kind, and that is what they gave us which was perfect. Thank you.

The bid for the job was detailed and broken down into different options so that I could choose the services most important to me and within my budget. The work was performed timely. The workers were courteous, patient, and left the workspace clean. All of the items that I chose were completed to my satisfaction and there were no charges over the amounts on the original bid. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike's Electric or use them again.

We had purchased an Angieslist coupon for 2 hours of electrical work for $99 and got an estimate for Mike's Electric to do the work. We were hoping we could get more of the work done for the $99, 2 hours we had purchased. Darryl Mollenhauer, the owner, was very nice to work with us on the estimate and gave us a 3 hour credit for our coupon which made the bill easier for us to have the work done all at the same time. They sent out an electrician and an apprentice and the two of them got right to work and did a great job. They were friendly, professional, and knew what they were doing. They cleaned up all the areas and took away the boxes that the fans and light fixtures came in. We are very pleased with their work and would use them again.

They were fine, extremely thorough. They left me an estimate on things that could be fixed in the future, They were on time and very polite.

Mike's Electric was recommended by my local realtor as someone that she had worked with in the past. I called them after I received a report from the electrical inspector that I was missing three lockout on my circuit breaker boxes. Although the inspector suggest that I could do the work by purchasing the parts at my local hardware store, when he then said I had to remove the panels themselves (and make sure all of the electricity was off), that's when I decided to have a professional do it. I called Mike's and spoke with Daryl and told him my dilemma. I asked him for a quote which he gave me over the phone and then asked when they could come out to do this. He said they could be out in a few hours! Wow, that never happens. Donny arrived right on time, introduced himself and even put on booties over his shoes when he entered the house. He went right to work removing the panels and installing the lockouts. He completed the job in about 30 minutes and I am very happy with the work he did. The county inspector will return for the final inspection and I am sure that he will sign off on the report. I am very pleased with their service and will use them again and also recommend them to family and friends.

We had a broken hot water heater that needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, whoever installed the tank did so not up to code, which meant that we had to have an electrical one installed instead of a gas unit. That meant that we had to have an electrician wire up the room to accommodate 220, and fast as the water was shut of to the entire house. I called Mike's electric because of their high rating on Angie's list, only to assume that they'd be too busy to come over right away. They arrived within two hours of the call, did the work promptly and without any fuss, gave us an estimate for future work and sent us the bill, which included permitting the work. I would hire Mike's electric again in an instant! Great people, very polite extremely professional and reasonably priced.

I want to clarify that I see a distinction between the level of service I received prior to the service and the quality of service I received day-of. I utilized the $99/2 hours coupon that Angie's List offered because, bottom line, I wanted to see if I could find an electrician we'd like to work with in the future when we have larger electrical issues. For this first visit, I confirmed with Darryl (via email) whether it was reasonable to get our ceiling fans checked and our outlets replaced due to the fact that plugs would not stay in the sockets. Darryl was very excellent to work with via email. He made it seem like it was very reasonable to have the ceiling fans checked/re-balanced (as my inspection agent told me to do periodically when I bought my house) and fine to change the outlets. So, I do want to clarify that working with Darryl was a very good experience for me. However, the person that was sent day-of did not live up to my expectations. First, he seemed to think I was crazy to look at the ceiling fans. As I don't have experience in this area, I made sure to discuss this expecation with Darryl prior to the visit but now, on the day-of, the electrician looked at me oddly to make this request. He humored me and said there wasn't much he could do but he did at least check all the fans and informed me I'd need to replace a couple soon. I wasn't sure whether this was informed knowledge that they really do need to be replaced or if they could have been re-balanced as I'd previously been advised to do. As this quick scan didn't take as much time, I was left with asking the electrician to focus on changing out the outlets. I'm not quite sure how long it *should* take to replace an outlet but he didn't even finish half the outlets we were supposed to have replaced. Part of the issue is that time traveled to your home is billed as part of their time...perhaps this is industry standard for electricians so I don't want to harp on this point too much. However, at the end of the day, I received another odd look from my husband who pointed out that we'd basically spent $99 to get a few outlets changed out---something which he could do. I had intended to ask some other electric-related questions regarding upgrades/changes to our house but due to the responses I received, I decided against it. It is unfortunate because my initial experience with this company was excellent but ultimately, it comes down to having some type of rapport with your service providers so we will not use this company again.

I had an electrical concern in my closet when I heard a loud pop and could smell burning. The lightbulb didn't burn out -- the burning was above the fixture. Of course I needed help on a late Friday afternoon. I called Mike's Electric. They were getting ready to close for the day but Aaron, who was heading out, said he would drop by my house on his way home to make sure it was safe. They prepared me by saying that if it was a project that would take awhile, they would schedule a time for the next week but they would ensure that my home was in no immediate fire danger. I was incredibly impressed by this service -- so impressed that I've given the company name to several friends and just purchased the Angie's deal for a complete home inspection.

There were problems with the ballasts for our downstairs sensor lights, and Tom fixed them right up. The fixtures he ordered initially were faulty, but after Tom obtained new ones from the manufacturer, he came over and changed them out for us. Our sensor lights are now working great! Tom is very personable and funny, and most importantly, skilled at being an electrician. We really liked him. Go with Mike's Electric; you'll enjoy the experience!

The serviceman was polite and courteous. He did a good job, except for one little glitch. When resetting the GFR, something was missed. I called the next day and the man came right out and promptly fixed the problem. He replaced an outside outlet for free for my trouble. I would use them again.

It went well. Very easy to schedule. The eletrician arrived on time. He first replaced a wall outlet that had been crushed when a mirror slide down the wall. Then he put together and installed a ceiling fan with light, in our upstairs bedroom. I thought that there short in the ceiling which I told him but it was actually a faulty switch, which he replaced. He went over about 15 - 20 minutes and with the 15 minutes (I believe) that I was charged for travel, I ended up paying $108.00 dollars over the original $99.00 deal. That was my one issue. I had no way of knowing how long this job would take or how much extra I would have to pay.

On Friday after waiting all day for the plumber (annoying), he finally arrives at 4:30PM and determines that the problem is electrical. I looked on Angieslist and found Mike's Electrical. I called them and since now it was 4:45pm they said that the charge would be the weekend rate and that if I could live without hot water for a couple of days they would have someone out at 8:15 AM on Monday. I can do that, it's called camping. On Monday, the electrician showed up right at 8:15 and the problem was corrected within the hour. Everyone I talked to with Mike's Electrical was courteous and helpful. I would definitely use them again.
