The technician Aaron was thorough. I did not know exactly what I would get for the deal I purchased but he literally checked every outlet in the house. He checked the outlet in the garage that held the garage door opener, he even checked all the outdoor outlets. He also went in to the crawl space which I appreciated. They also gave me an estimate for a future job I could have done. It was really helpful. He answered all my questions, he was kind and patient. I asked him a question that he did not know the answer to and he was completely honest with me and said he does not know the answer but he would find out for me.

Don was the electrician assigned to us and he showed up on time as per the commitment we received from the dispatcher. He was effecient, friendly, knowledgeable and customer focused. The whole job took around 2 hours and he was able to use existing wiring by changing out the type of switch we used. Overall costs were on point and as discussed. We are very pleased and will definitely use Mikes again. We found them really exceptional. I cannot imagine a better choice for electrical work than Mikes.

I called in the morning and just before 11 AM, two guys from Mike's Electric arrived. They confirmed the problem, replaced the bad breaker, and were on their way before 11:15! The only *slight* negative (which I'm stating on behalf of my husband) was that we were charged $14 for a breaker that looked used. Certainly not anything that either of us were overly bothered by, though.

Made a call the same day I bought the coupon. They were able to schedule it for the following day! He showed up on time. We chatted a bit about the trouble I was having. He checked various places where the electrical outtage could have originated. Once he found it, he fixed it and we were done. Spectacular job by a very competent company!

I've used Mike's Electric previously when I had purchased a Big Deal for electrical work and I decided to use them again. They have always been responsive to my calls, the office contact was extremely helpful, and they arrived on time. Both crews that came at the two different times were helpful and able to do things in a cleanly manner.

They found a emergency situation with the electrical supply outside our home, set up an emergency service call with the power company and charged us a minimal amount.

I purchased a whole house inspection coupon then called to schedule an appointment. The inspection was thorough and while the electrician conducted it we discussed other questions I had around the house. In addition to the inspection I almost had him fix the wiring on a light, install another outlet in the garage, and properly secure the power meter to the house. The extra charge for all of this work was reasonable. Overall it was a good experience and I would use Mike's Electric again.

First, let me say that the work done was excellent quality work. Our problem was with the billing and how this was communicated to us. We purchased the $99 for 2 hours of certified electrical work. We knew from a neighbor that we would have to pay for a permit on top of this. When I called to set up the appointment, I explained what we wanted done and wanted to clarify extra costs. I was told that there would be a cost for drive time. I didn't know if this was customary but at least I was told about it up front. On the day of the appointment, they showed up on time for the appointment. We went over the work I needed done and I kept expressing my concern that we would be able to get it done in the 2 hours as we did not have the budget for much more. They were very professional and when we were nearing the end of our time we went over the job again and decided to go ahead and finish the last room and we would pay the extra. The shock came when we got the bill. They had sent out 2 electricians and were charging us double. So, instead of getting 2 hours for $99 we only were getting 1. On top of that, we were double charged for the drive time as well. If I had been told in advance that 2 people meant double charge, I would have been able to adjust the job accordingly. Instead, we had a huge bill that we were not prepared for. The coupon purchased was $99 for 2 hours of electrical work. It did not say per person. I called and complained and was told that I got what I paid for. I essentially got double the hours since they had 2 people working. I agreed with this, however, my complaint was that I was not told in advance. I had multiple conversations with the workers during the time they were here about time and money. It would have been so simple to have been told about this on many occasions. The manager did give us a slight discount but we still paid a lot more than we had planned. Had we have know, we would have broken the job up and paid as we had the money.

The repairman was prompt and was done in about an hour.

Our first contact after purchasing a coupon came from Mike's Electric and we were able to quickly schedule a time for them to come. We had a brief discussion about how the coupon worked, about how long the project might take and any additional charges that might be incurred. They gave us a time frame of 1 1/2 hours and that seemed very reasonable. That morning they called and asked if they could come early. We were not there at the time and we arrived after they did by a few minutes and they did not charge us for the time they waited which was fantastic. They quickly assessed the situation and immediately went to work to complete the project. There were two electricians working together and it was very apparent that they both knew exactly what was needed and how to go about it. When the new circuit was in place they took a look at a wall switch that should have controlled one of the outlets but did not. They identified which outlet should have been working and in about 10 minutes had it wired correctly so we can now enter the house and turn on a light with the switch by the door. Before they left they told us about the bill for the charges that would be coming for the permit and materials so it was not a surprise when that came. Both men were efficient, polite, and very professional. It was a great experience. We would definitely use this company again.

Reprogrammed timer for 4 exterior lights to come on at night and turn off during day.

During a recent service call to fix a bathroom heater we asked for an estimate to add a circuit in the garage with outlets and a switch for an outlet in the ceiling so work lights could be added. We asked for a rough estimate which came in about $450 for about 3 hours work, parts and a permit. A few days later we received a detailed estimate for $468. At that point we scheduled an appointment for 8:00 in the morning. Two electricians showed up right on time and completed the work quickly and left everything as neat as they found it. The final bill came today, along with the permit tag to put on the service box, and the bill is $406 (including about $19 for an Angie's List discount). We were very pleased with all of our dealings from the informal estimate, to the final product and will keep Mike's Electric at the top of our list of any future work we may need.

I bought a 2 hour Angie's List Deal, as I needed an electrician and had no company from the past that I was overly impressed with. They set the 2 hour appointment time from 10AM-noon. The electrician showed up on time or maybe a few minutes early. He asked all the right questions, and explained what he was going to do. At the end, he explained what and how he fixed my problem. He was courteous, professional and informative. The next day someone from the office called to see how my experience was and if I needed anything further. I now have my electrician I will use in the future and refer to friends. Mike's did a GREAT job!

When I called to check prices, I was told that the rate is $104 an hour. While expensive for me, I really needed the help. I was given the name of "the electician that will be coming out" and an appointment for less than a week away. 2 men arrived, and when I asked about charges, the lead guy said I would be paying for travel time, I called the owner. This hadn't been included in my phone quote, and when I called he told me that "all the companies do it". I was disappointed, but I let it go. At this point, I made the mistake of assuming the 2nd guy was part of the $104 hourly rate. I was surprised to see two people arrive, as the job had been explained on the phone, and it was clearly a one-man job. I was REALLY surprised when the bill came a few days later with the $104 hourly rate for the lead man, and another $60 an hour charge for the second, most unnecessary, man. I feel lied to. Twice. What a shame . . . as all the players were friendly and the technical part of the job was just right. This guy needs to tell the truth. I am much more upset by being willfully misled, than by the charges themselves . . . though I know I overpaid for what I got. The pricing funny business ruined the whole thing for me . . . I suspect any electrician can install dimmers and shorten chains, so that part of it has been overshadowed for me. If knowing the ballpark pricing upfront is important to you, go somewhere else.

For our old 1920's home we knew we were going to have quite the electrical repair bill when we started our kitchen remodel work. After hearing about Mike's through some family members and researching them on Angie's List, we brought Mike's out to do an electrical assessment and put together a quote for our "wish list" and any dangers found in the assessment. Mike's quote came in lower than our other contractor's and included more work. We split the work into several different sessions and along the way we also changed our mind on a few things, added a few little items and had random specific requests. The Mike's team was extremely flexible and very upfront if there was going to be any charges to the original estimate quoted. They also gave us some very handy suggestions! The work they completed was high quality, they always cleaned up after themselves and were pleasant to work with. In the end, the whole project (including all our last minute extras), came in at budget. We couldn't be more pleased with our whole experience with Mike's--from the estimate process, the actual work completed in our home, to the follow ups we have received from the team. We have since recommended Mike's to several friends and family--all have reported similar great experiences! We would, without question, bring Mike's back for any of our electrical needs.ets

Aaron came out on time and had the repairs finished within 20 min. He was polite and professional. When he was done he kept looking for other things to check and fix. Found a couple of problems that I would have had to fix later when I found them. He even changed the light bulbs in a fixture I could not reach. I had an electrical issue that needed immediate attention. I purchased the $99 coupon and when I called I was told that the soonest that they could come out would be Monday. I explained why I needed help much sooner than that and they worked to fit me in the next morning. The service guy showed up on time, introduced himself and I explained the job to him. He assessed the situation and explained what the best way to proceed would be and got to work right away. He was thorough and very professional. I intend to have Mike's Electric come back and do some more things around the house. I highly recommend them.

I found Mike's Electric, here on Angie's list and I called them because they are located close to our home. The gentleman who answered the phone was nice and patient when I was explaining my problem. I'm sorry but I have forgotten his name. He scheduled the service call for several days later, which was fine for us. Aaron came on the service call and he is a pleasant and knowledgeable young man and he arrived on time. He got right to work and figured out it was the wall switch and not the heater motor. We were prepared to have the entire ventilator/heater fan unit replaced.

Professional and friendly from start to finish. Helpful on phone when trouble shooting problem. Called in advance & showed up within time frame. Wasn't super speedy when on the job--went a bit over the expected 2 hrs.

They did an excellent job. They were efficient and tied it up after themselves, no problems at all. The only surprising thing was two of them showed up so the two hours actually was one hour for each of two people so it was just different than I expected, but I understand their interpretation.
