Overall, the company is professional and responsive. The electricians who came out were clean cut and professional. I was happy with the work and experience overall but for the price and I don't know that two electricians rather than one were needed. I called because I was replacing a gas range with electric and needed a 110 outlet behind the range to be upgraded to 220. I also asked for two light fixtures to be swapped out with new lights. Mike's publishes on Angie's List that there is a 5% discount if your bill runs over $300. The receptionist noted that my work wouldn't likely cost enough to earn the discount. To my surprise, two electricians rather than one showed up. I didn't think it was a job worthy of two people and wished this would have been discussed ahead of time. They installed the new 220 line with new breakers in the box, running through the "crawl space" that is high enough you can walk with maybe a bit of a stoop, so not too hard to navigate. The kitchen is right next to the garage, so it wasn't a long distance to the breaker box. Then they installed the new lights, with two workers working on each light together rather than one doing one light while the other did the other light. Again, it didn't seem like a two man job. In the end, I was charged 4.5 hours labor; I don't believe the guys were here longer than two hours (4 hours labor), but didn't keep close track. I was charged $156 for material and $409.50 for labor and then given a discount of $28.26. If I'd know this was how they were going to operate and bill, I most certainly wouldn't have used them to install light fixtures.

Excellent. The new panel is beautiful and safe. The DIY electrical by former owners is now safe and works perfectly. Mike's Electric is the best. They are reliable, show up on time and finish the work on time. Their prices are reasonable.

I purchased a whole house electrical inspection for them to do through an Angie's list and paid for it already through Angie's list.com. Not before and not during their inspection, have they notified me that there would be additional charges. A week later I get a bill for $90 of an additional costs. When I called them up to resolve this and hear an explanation to this "surprise" bill, the owner appeared to be not customer oriented, somewhat rude, and demanded the payment by scaring me to send it to a collections. They are local and that's the reason I used them, but I will NOT use them again. Customer Be ware!

He put a 3-sconce lamp into my bathroom, a fan in my utility room, and a lot of sockets and switchplates. Very nice job.

Just great. Diagnosed the problem in short order and replaced the outlet.

The electrician was punctual, efficient, and helpful. He asked what we wanted and helped us decide what would work best for our space. The only drawback was that he offered 4 outlet boxes, instead of the 2 outlet we'd been quoted. The bill was then about 40% more than we'd originally been quoted. We weren't told how much more it would be when he offered the larger boxes. We were very happy with the work, though.

I found them on Angie's List. I was not happy with them. They were slow and it was slightly less. It was not the best service and the price was higher than what they promised. I would not use them again and I would not recommend them. He was training someone and I had to pay for them. I got less than was promised.

They installed 2 outdoor 2 plug AC outlets with GFI and rain covers. The service went very well. They were courteous, accommodating, prompt, efficient. I would use them again

This work was recommended when Mike's Electric did a complete inspection a month ago. Because I had been disturbed with the attic wiring situation since moving into the house in 2008; I was very happy to have this work done. The complete inspection resulted in several estimated proposals, but I chose to proceed with only the attic wiring part. Again, Tom and his assistant (this time it was Brad), arrived promptly and went directly to work. Again, their work was steady, skillful, and thorough. And again, I learned a lot about electrical stuff in the process. Tom was obviously a concerned and effective teacher for both the apprentices who worked with him at our house. Mike's Electric has performed work twice in my home. Both times, the work has been more than satisfactory and the experience has been excellent. And it was nice to receive an Angie's List discount.

Wow! This experience was the best! The work was beyond expectations. Tom and Sean were thorough and worked with deliberate speed. They worked hard and efficiently. Tom answered all my questions and explained the work being done and why work was needed. I understand my house and how it works (or didn't work so well) because Tom took the time and energy to talk with me. And all the while, getting the job done. He noticed everything and either fixed it or recommended next steps. Clean up was a seamless part of their process. I expect to be following up with the further corrections that Tom recommended. Thanks to Tom and Sean for their enthusiasm and top quality workmanship!

We called because attempts to change a light bulb resulted in power outage in one and a half rooms, and we were unable to get the switch in the circuit breaker to revert to the on position. My husband had bent a wire in the socket in an attempt to establish better contact between socket and bulb, which blew out the circuit. Their diagnosis revealed not one, but two switches for the bathroom which they were able to get to stay in the on position, and power returned, though light bulb still did not work in one fixture. After trying a few things they discovered that the new bulb was bad, so they put in a new bulb and it worked. They also tightened another one of the fixtures in the same lighting fixture. We initially contacted Mike's by e.mail on the weekend and had two or three e.mail exchanges before Monday even though they are officially not open on weekends. I had hoped to get someone to come on Monday because of my husband's health condition, but they did come Tuesday, 30 minutes earlier than scheduled. They were professional, quick, and efficient. We would definitely call Mike's again.

I purchased this deal last Friday. I typically hear back from providers in one or two business days. In this case, I called on the third day. It has always been my experience that providers can schedule work, especially the smaller jobs within a few weeks. I needed this work done as soon as possible. It turns out that Mike's is unable to schedule this until well in to August. I've called other electricians and now have a work date of July 22. Because of the inability to schedule the work with Mike's, I'm asking for a refund. Thanks!

They do quality electrical work. We have owned a lot of houses and when they do stuff it's professionally done. They don't have wires sticking out in the basement rafters, floor joists, they run wires up the side of the house, everything is done neatly. You know it's done right. They explain everything to me, why it has to be done, the way it has to be done. They don't leave a mess, they don't tear up the walls, if they do something they patch it. They put a light fixture over the sink. It was perfect. You didn't have to do any patching, no finger prints, these guys they do a very professional good job. They show up when they say they are going to show up and they tell you it's going to be $1200 it's going to be $1200, if it's going to be more they call you and they say they ran into a problem, they are pretty good.

They were not only professional, on time, a great office to schedule with, but also great at solving problems. They were able to accomplish a lot in only two hours. If I ever have electrical issues, I would definitely call them again.

Kurt and Sean arrived on time and went straight to work. They worked hard and were efficient. We will ask specifically for them next time we call.

They were. Rey good. I do not think another electrician would have taken the time to check out the wiring and come up with a solution that did not require running wires on the outside of the house.

They arrived on time, very friendly. Listened to my explanation of the problem, Had it fixed very quickly and explained in detail what they were doing and how they did it.

When we were moving out, we had them come in and make sure everything was up to code. We didn't have any major problems. They were really good.

Two electricians arrived at the appointed time. We read through the list and discussed the work to be done. The senior member of the team invited me to walk from job to job as he inspected, examined, tested, and repaired. The second team member replaced two outlets with GFCI. Both electricians were knowledgeable, thorough, courteous, and worked quickly. The lead electrician explained the code to me and explained why the inspector was incorrect in some of his assumptions. All work was completed as expected. It was a pleasure doing business with Mike's Electric.

He was very professional in returning calls and setting up the appointment and showing up on time. And very nice, too...and did a good job.

It went pretty well, however, when they came out to do the work (which was done well), they sent 2 workers and not one. The second worker, who was an apprentice, was sent without advising me that the hourly cost would increase as a result of his presence and work. To be clear, the work was done well, I was just not happy when the greatly increased bill was sent and would have appreciated prior notification.

The gentleman was very nice but was over an hour late for the quote.

It took a few days to get a full estimate sent to me (the first one did not include all of the work I had asked for), but the work was quickly scheduled after I received the correct estimate. I marked punctuality down simple because I was called the day prior to my scheduled service to reschedule my work and then got a last minute call the morning of my original service day to say that they would be able to come out and if I was still available. It has been a few weeks since the work was completed and we have been quite pleased with it. The work took a few hours longer than what I was told it would take, but there were a couple things that were more complex than expected and it remained on budget.

They were very thorough and were able to address the concerns we had indicated, as well as sent us a quote on what it would cost to fix the items at a later date.

This was a big job. The ceiling fan was very heavy and they installed it on a slanted ceiling 20 feet high. Everything turned out perfect! The fan is secure and does not wiggle at all, even on the fastest setting. We are very pleased!
