Mike's Electric

Aaron replaced the ceiling fan which required access to the attic through a small ceiling entrance. Alex arrived to help with pulling new wire through to the bathroom from the breaker box. This required removing two 10" x 12" portions of the basement ceiling drywall. These pieces were replaced and all debris was cleaned from the basement. The lights and fan were moved to one switch by the bathroom door, the plug-in was moved 2 inches to the left between the sink and mirror, and the wall fixtures which were at different heights were leveled up 6 inches after reinforcement bars were installed. So now the bathroom has all new (and grounded!) wiring and is on it's own breaker switch. Aaron also put a new pull light fixture at the bottom of the basement stairs. I arranged to have a whole day free for the work. Aaron called to say he could come ahead of the 11a.m. start time, so he started around 10:15a.m. Alex and Aaron worked non-stop, except for lunch break, until 6p.m. They were thorough in cleaning up when the work was complete. I am very pleased with the work that was done. Both Aaron and Alex were very thorough, diligent, pleasant and informative. I will choose Mikes Electric professionals for future electrical work. They are top notch:)

They were very professional and completed the work in about 3 hours. They did a very nice job. There were a couple issues they had to deal that took more materials and time to complete. They communicated the issues very well and asked for input to make sure it was completed to my satisfaction. The final cost was higher than the quote, but it was because material and labor costs had increased from the time of the quote and because of the additional work mentioned above. Overall, I am very pleased and would use them again.

I decided to have Mike's Electric come in and do this job after another contractor tried to do it but said it was too hard for them to do. Mike's two electricians showed up promptly and went right to work. We live on the 4th floor of a condo bldg. This job required them to run wire from our electric panel up into the overhead attic, across and find a way down into the 2nd bedgroom closet. We wanted to put a small portable freezer in there but had no power. The job took quite a while but they got the outlet put In successfully. And they installed a wall heater and thermostat in the adjoining bathroom. We were very happy with the work they did and would definitely use them again. What they charged for the job was within accord with the estimate they gave us.

Mike's Electric was very accomodating, although my home inspection appointment was pretty far out they were able to move it up when I called with an issue that needed prompt attention. Aaron & Shaun (an apprentice) arrived on time and mehodically went through the electrical system in our home. They checked everything they could access and wrote a report on what they found. In addition (for a fee of $82) they corrected the urgent issue and a few of the problems I had found prior to their arrival. I was very pleased with their work and would highly recommend Mike's Electric.

The overhead lights in my kitchen mysteriously stopped working. When I first contacted Mike, he tried to see if he could offer a solution over the phone. When he was unable to resolve the problem that wY, he scheduled an appointment. The technicians quickly determined that it was a broken switch and replaced it. They then pointed out that I would be charged the minimum of 1 hour for the work and asked if I had any other problems they could help with. I had them change out 2 other two way switches which had never worked right. The work was performed professionally and the two techs were very pleasant and helpful. They arrived right on schedule. I have not yet received the bill so cannot comment on the charges.

Starting with Amanda (the receptionist who was very courteous), she gave me helpful suggestions to rule out minor fixes that I could check myself. I called back to report that those remedies didn't work. Amanda informed that there were no available appointments for today; however, she preceded to refer me to another reputable company that was on Angie's list. I called that company, left a message and haven't heard back, yet. I called Amanda back. She checked status of electricians who were in the field and noted one was at a job nearby. She was able to coordinate with that electrician and consequently I received same day service! Kurt arrived with an assistant and both men were friendly, professional and experts in their field. They were able to diagnose and fix the problem within reasonable time. When the lights flashed on, I told the men it felt like Christmas! Kurt also provided me in layman's terms (for my benefit) what the problem was and how to prevent it from occurring in the future. I would definitely call Mike's Electrical again and recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work done. Thanks Amanda, Kurt and assistant for a job well done from beginning to end. Carolyne M. We purchased a home electrical inspection deal for $89 to use on the home that my Mother recently purchased. We booked an appointment for that, and for some additional electrical work (installing 2 celling fans, new outlets in garage and in front of the house). They are so busy, that we had to wait 4 weeks for a large enough appointment window, but we were okay with that. The two guys showed up on time and got to work quickly on the inspection. The house was empty, so they had full access to all outlets. They found several issues (missing GIF outlets in bathroom and kitchen, faulty outlet on the patio, and improperly installed outlets, light switches, and light fixtures that used aluminum wire). They immediately started working on the issues on a list that we prioritized. All outlets and light switches were correctly rewired, the new outlets we had requested were installed, GIF outlets were installed were necessary to meet code, and the ceiling fans were installed. There was not enough time to complete the rewiring of all of the existing ceiling light fixtures, so we have scheduled a second appointment for that. The guys worked non-stop for 8+ hours and did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves before they left. They were all very courteous and polite to us and especially to my 82 year old Mother. Overall we were very pleased with the service.

The work was scheduled a few weeks out and they called to confirm the date ahead of time. They showed up on time, installed the new fans. The cost was real close to the over the phone price I received. The new fans work great, look better, and are a whole lot quieter. They were on time and did a good job.

My husband was out of town. I was preparing cup of coffee in microwave and it and the refrigerator stopped working. Went to electrical box but all was fine. Immediately got on Angie's List and found Mike's Electrical. Called and spoke with Amanda. I told her about the microwave and refrigerator not working and she told me they were several days out before someone would be available. Our conversation didn't end there because, Amanda, very calmly, suggested we go through some troubleshooting. Unfortunately, the troubleshooting did not work. THANKFULLY, Amanda was able to find someone on her team to come out within two hours. It was less than two hours and two young men came to take care of the problem. These men were very kind and courteous, found the problem immediately and corrected it and also put a plate over some wiring. (I hope I got that correct!). In my emergency I was extremely grateful for Amanda's calmness and her help in having someone come to help

The initial estimator was very knowledgable and professional. He arrived on time and pointed out additional concerns that had not beed addressed in the recent home inspection and I appreciated that he shared which ones were important to fix immediately and which could be saved for later. The estimate came back exactly when he said it would and was on par with 3 others we had received. Based on initial interactions I probably would have gone with Mike's, but the fact that they also offered a 5% discount for Angie's Listers really sealed the deal. The two days of work went smoothly, both electricians were diligent, respectful and polite. When I noticed a small issue a week or so later, they came right out to fix it and when I called with a billing question it was resolved perfectly. Everything turned out great, the house looks much improved and now I have peace of mind that the electrical systems are both up to date and up to code. I am also thankful that I don't have to shop around in the future for electrical work, I will just call Mike's.

Scheduling was easy. We were happy with the price. All the work is guaranteed for as long as we own the home.

It turned out excellent. The price was fair and they were a little early for the appointment. The communication with the electricians was also excellent.

The service went excellent. They did exactly what the deal stated. Two technicians came out for the service and completed the job in about a couple hours. They found a few things that needed repaired, but we went with another company for the repairs. The technicians did a nice job and I had no problem scheduling the deal.

Quick & easy, from scheduling to getting the work done, no problems, price was right, I will definitely call them again.

Mike's was booked out 3 weeks - but we were put on the waiting list - ended up getting service THAT same day! They were very good about getting out there and diagnosing the problem. Fixed our wiring - technician was sorry that where wasn't more to do in the 1 hour minimum charge - was in and out and everything worked great! Will definitely call them next time we need work done.

Darryl got on the phone with me and offered to review my inspection report for free to see how bad it really is based on the report. I emailed the document to him and about an hour later he called me and we had a lengthy conversation regarding the possible issues and what it might take to get them corrected. He also pointed me toward the issues that were most concerning. Lastly, he recommended two other companies (also on Angie's List) that I could try. Darryl also took time to email me PDF's to review regarding the lighting in the home. Based on these conversations and his outstanding customer service I would recommend this company and I will call them back when it comes time to make these electrical fixes.

This is a very professional company that communicates promptly with its customers. It's clear that they have prioritized customer service, and they a good job at establishing trust. I bought the 2-hour Big Deal special to take care of some minor electrical issues in my home. The two electricians answered all my questions and performed the work as requested with no problems. Mike's Electric unquestionably deserves their solid A rating on Angies List, and I only scored them a B this time because I was surprised that two workers were sent to my home. This may have been discussed earlier; I can't recall. But it did diminish the value of the Big Deal. That's because Mike's subtracts time for commuting, which is fine when one employee is dispatched to a job. But when two are dispatched, you then lose twice the minutes off your 2 hour work-time. I also didn't think the job required two workers. Mike's Electric is a top-notch company, and I paid my bill happily when it arrived.

I had a wait about three weeks for availability and I paid a little more than normal AND it was worth it. Such professionalism and when they were done, there wasn't a spec of drywall dust anywhere. They worked around a couple other contractors at the house, they arrived on the dot at 10am and they were very friendly. t.The exterior plug for the landscape lighting, I had originally wanted on the side of the house and I was advised I should place it in a hidden location since the transformer that I haven't purchased yet was going to be very large. I really appreciated this a ton. Most people would have done exactly what I wanted and I would have regretted it. I felt like my job was very small and I was a little insecure about telling them what I needed. They made me feel like it was the biggest job they had and they were very appreciative of the work. I will always call them for future needs.

Brad and Brian were awesome! They arrived at 8:30 am and went non-stop till 1pm! Very courteous, professional and friendly! Darryl was also wonderful as he was most helpful on the phone and obtaining the vent fan for me prior to Brian and Brads arrival. They all rock!! Passed their contact info onto my neighbor who was looking for an electrician. Love these guys!

These guys are the best! I filled out their request form online and was contacted the next morning. Estimator was out right away, was on time, professional and friendly. Got my estimate within 48 hours and scheduled work right away. Darryl and Brian came out and were there exactly on time and were finished in about half the time estimated! A brief snag with the fact that I needed a vintage phone jack (I have a 1970's rotary dial wall model), but it was quickly ordered and installed within a few days. This is the second time I have had Mike's Electric out to help during a remodel, and I cannot recommend them more highly.
