Description of Work: I ordered the whole house inspection to get an idea of the repairs needed on a house I recently bought. The service was prompt, friendly, very knowledgeable, and he took the time to explain the basics to me so I could be a bit more resourceful as a home owner. A thorough write-up of recommended repairs was provided, along with quotes for each individual repair. Absolutely recommended.

Description of Work: Mikes Electric and specifically Tom and Lall are almost finished doing a complete lighting remodel on my 1450s.f. condo which was built in 1998. They wired and installed many puck lights, all bathroom lighting, 10 or so cans, and hung 4 chandeliers. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Tom and Lall, and the entire company. They were always on time, worked tirelessly, came early and stayed late to accomplish work that "had" to be done that particular day. I would give them an A+ over and over again.

Description of Work: At one of my apartments I needed a hard to find 220V wall heater of certain dimensions to replace one that was broken. And I needed the work to be done while I was out of town. Mike's worked with me to get all of the details worked out in advance and then coordinated with the tenant to get it installed. Couldn't be happier with the outcome (on a job that had a few challenges).

Description of Work: The service from this company was excellent. They tried to find a part for my two fans that were no longer available. They suggested I contact " Globe Lighting". The man there "Mike" was able to find the parts for my fan for $40.00 and Mikes Electric installed the part and the fans are now working very well. I would recommend this company to everyone. Description of Work: They assisted with electrical work in our laundry room. We also had some miscellaneous electrical work that we needed finished.

Description of Work: I had several ceiling fans replaced. There was an issue with one that had to be corrected. Mike was great. The work was done quickly and very professionally.

Description of Work: Mike's men showed up on time. They were polite and fastidious. They hung a large fragile chandelier for me and even repaired a short in one of the arms! They cleaned up after themselves and were wonderfully efficient.

Description of Work: I hired Mike's electric based on the $99 Angies list special. I explained to the owner what we needed done. He noted that since our ceilings were so high, the electrician would need an apprentice for which we would pay $55/hr. He thought our job could be completed in 3-4 hours. The tecnicians arrived on time but not with any of the needed parts (even though I had explained to the owner what we wanted done) so they had to go back to Beaverton to get parts. They returned around noon and the work took 5 hours. The work that was done was good but I didn't feel like they moved very quickly and the apprentice that we paid $55 was more a "helper" vs and needed lots of explanations and redirection. Certainly not worth $55 x 5 hours. I hired the company based on the ratings and the special but honestly, I wouldn't rehire them because i can find another electrician who could do the work much more quickly. Work performed: they ran cable from a box and hung a light in the bedroom. They moved the boxes for 3 pendant lights (but didn't hang the lights). Ran conduit and hung a chandelier.

Description of Work: Mike's electric hasn't performed services for us at the house but we will definitely call them when we do need electrical work done. Yesterday morning I discovered that there was no electricity going to lights, heat lamps, outlets, exhaust fan in the master bathroom and for the heat lamp & fan in the second bathroom. Since there is very little daylight available in the master bathroom this was a real inconvenience. Used an oil lamp for light last night. This morning my husband called one of the large electrical companies in Portland and was told his message would go to the "scheduler." He left for work and I got on my computer and looked up Angie's list. Saw all the great reviews for Mike's Electric and called my husband and told him to call them. He still had not heard from the scheduler for the company he had called. Within minutes my husband called back and told me to check the electrical outlets in the two bathrooms to see if a reset button needed to be reset. Sure enough, the one outlet in the master bathroom had to have a button reset. Voila! Problem solved! The electrician my husband called said this was usually the first thing they asked people to check for a problem like ours. Since we are pretty jammed up getting ready to leave for a vacation it was a huge relief not to have to schedule someone to come out to the house. And after having a couple of appliance repairs in the last 10 days it was wonderful not to have to shell out more money.

Description of Work: We purchased new lighting that required the existing outlet to be improved upon in order to install the new fixtures in two bathrooms. This required placing a box in one room and changing from one fixture to two in the master. The work was done efficiently and the price was what we expected. We would use this company again for any electrical needs we may have in the future.

Description of Work: Purchased a $99 w hole house electrical inspection coupon. Though it would work to find and fix an electrical circuit problem where some outlets were going out. The polite young gentleman came out, found the problem, replaced a couple of electrical plugs along with two external flood lights. Parts $9...Labor 122.50....ended up owing additional $32.50. Was surprised at the additional labor charge. Total time about 1.5 hours. I have no issues with the service and the price was okay. In hindsight I should have asked how much labor/time the $99 covered. The parts were very reasonable. I have no problem with the overall service/parts charges. I should have asked the right questions up front. Great job Mike's.

Description of Work: installed an outlet in the bathroom for a bidet. When Mike's electric came to do the estimate, they informed me that the bidet required a dedicated circuit from the electrical box to the bathroom that would have to be run through the attic and down the wall. They informed me that many people choose to return the bidet to the store rather than spend the money to put the outlet in. Their estimate was between $450.00-$525.00 to run the circuit and install the outlet. We chose to go ahead and have the work done. The final invoice was lower than the estimate, the workers were very professional, prompt and courteous. I was extremely pleased with the whole experience and would hire Mike's Electric again for any electrical work needed.

Description of Work: The guys at Mikes provided a fair estimate and work was performed on time and done well, could not ask for a better experience. A electrical panel was replaced and the workers checked and double checked everything before leaving.

Description of Work: The guys from Mike's were outstanding. They were prompt, friendly, and did a job that I was not sure could be done. A chandelier in our entry was shorted out and we thought it was not repairable, the crew took it down, found the problem, fixed it (requiring dis-assembly of the fixture) and re-installed it. While the cost of this was high it was well worth it as compared to replacement -- we were very happy!These guys are the rare craftsmen that do what needs to be done.
