Description of Work: I got two bids to remove a couple trees and trim the remainder. Matt was not the lowest bid, but he called me to check and I liked him. I will also use small businesses whenever I possibly can. Matt and his crew were here promptly, worked efficiently and professionally, and were just great. I can't recommend him highly enough, and will not even bother with bids in the future when I need tree work. Thank you Matt, you rock!

Description of Work: I called for an estimate to remove two Quaking Aspen trees. Fairly simple removals, and they said min $300 charge on the phone. I asked them to stop over anyways, so I at least had a competing quote. The owner showed up RIGHT on time (even called 20 minutes ahead to confirm appt). He took one look at the 2 trees and said he would do it for $150 including removing the roots, not just a stump grind job. Also said his guys were in the neighborhood and could stop by today. 30 minutes later they showed up, and in 20 minutes they were gone! Job well done and very professional. They even ground up in their chipper a large piece of another tree I had sitting around for no charge. These guys are good! Highly recommend!!

Description of Work: Matt removed several trees from my property which had fallen after a storm. He was prompt, efficient and very professional. This guy knows what he is doing; he is a certified arborist and can tell you everything there is to know about trees. His work was very neat; he cleaned up everything and the work was flawless. I would recommend him to anyone needing advice re: tree removal. He is outstanding!

Description of Work: We had Matt give an estimate for a number of tree trims and two removals and I told him that the one tree I cared about was our Mimosa. He assured me that he would be on site and manage. The day of the service when he didn't arrive with his crew I called his office and was told he would be there later. He never came. I mentioned to his man in charge about the Mimosa tree being special. Someone was put on the job who told me several times as he was in the tree he didn't know what to do. It was cut way back on one side and I was told that it would be ok when the leaves came out. It has come out and looks terrible. I emailed Matt and asked him to tell me when the best time of the year was to come out and fix it. The response I received is as follows" we are not interested in continuing our working relationship. Please seek other service company's". I am SHOCKED at the last of professional services this company has given. This take the money and run policy I don't wish on anyone else.

Description of Work: Bid the falling of a large, old cherry tree and prune some major limbs out of a large maple. Best bid and very good work. Completed in one day with all the branches chipped and removed and the rest left as firewood. They were very careful not to damage the landscape. The whole operation was professional, from the bid presentation to the clean-up. I will have them back when needed and would recommend them.

Description of Work: Matt came to my house to look at a fig tree that I was interested in having pruned. The price he quoted me seemed reasonable, but more than I could afford (the price included a discount for having the work done on a day when his workers were in my neighborhood). He referred me to an Arborist at a smaller business who he thought might be able to do the work at a price that would be more affordable for me. I asked him to also look at two fir trees that I thought might be unhealthy or at risk of falling into my house or a neighbor s house. He gave me a lot of information, including a brochure explaining tree hazards, and explained to me the growth cycle of the trees and what I could expect and look for in the coming years. Matt was friendly, professional, and answered all of my questions. I would definitely consider using this business in the future when I have a larger project.

Description of Work: Matt's crew thinned three maples to provide more sunlight to the veggie garden. They removed four medium cherry trees and pruned a couple large laurel runs.

Description of Work: Matthew gave me an estimate to take down a very large diseased maple tree. He was prompt, courteous and seemed very knowledgeable about trees. Estimate $1598.

Description of Work: Matt pruned two large trees on our property in NE Portland. One tree was a 40 foot Horse Chestnut in a planted median near the street. The other was a 120 foot Douglas Fir in our backyard.
