MASCOTA'S LANDSCAPE INC.

Ivan did a wonderful job installing a new double-check backflow valve for my mom's landscape irrigation system. A few weeks later, we had him fix a leak in an old supply line. Both times, he was on-time, performed quality work and cleaned up after he was done. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Mascota's again!

We hired them to do landscaping for a small community. They did a good job for the most part. Where we had problems was with their responsiveness, providing quotes when we asked them to, fixing billing issues where they missed days and said they'd credit us but never did in spite of many emails and calls to correct, when making repairs we asked for photos in order to address with the property owners but that wasn't done by the request. We finally ended the contract. They had installed some irrigation boxes for us that were keyed and they never gave us the keys. Next season came and new small company couldn't access the boxes and while trying to solve this issue we had large areas of the landscape die as a result and they're not responding to our request for the keys which we had paid for. This is an example of a company that completely lacked professionalism and customer service. The charges for standard landscape were reasonable but then we started getting charged very large numbers for simple few dollar repairs as we were taken advantage of during hard times and the pandemic.

On time, great communication and correspondence. We'll call on them again.

My experience with Mascota’s Landscapes has been HORRIFIC !!! First I hired must Moscota’s Landscaping to create a hard-surface path in my yard. They created an eyesore, which quickly began to disintegrate between the tile work. They were paid $1500, and then I tried let it go Then, a windstorm blew down some fencing between me and a neighbor, which needed to be replaced immediately; and with no other resource, I called Mascota's back to build a new fence, in the amount of $4,325.00. The first time I saw it, I complained. Despite the fact that professional survey markers were clearly evident, they built the fence on my property, with the bottom of the fence literally resting on the ground and on top of previous plantings. Furthermore, what was to be a cedar fence was actually built with house siding timber. They said what was done was done, and they would not redo it or give me my money back. A short time later I noticed that one panel of the fence had literally separated from its post and I called them back to repair it. Both Ivan and Hector refused to do so under any circumstance, because they said it had been more than one year and the warrantee had expired. They said I would have to find someone else to fix their work. Be aware and beware!

1. Routine residential yard maintenance was variable quality. Generally good, clean appearance from mowing and trimming with good clean-up afterwards. Often had to remind details like blowing out leaves that accumulate behind the garbage cans. Pruning and trimming was often neglected inappropriately. Some trimming showed poor understanding of how plants grow and look their best. Pruning of a tall hedge looked fine from ground level, but was an eyesore when viewed from kitchen window of our ranch house, where we could see the unevenness of the top. Trimming was sometimes done when a heat spell made it inadvisable. Supervisory staff (Hector and Ivan) knew how to do everything right and Hector showed very good horticultural knowledge and design insight...however, they failed to supervise their workers adequately to get the best results. Frequently, Hector and I would reach understanding on how things should be pruned and trimmed, but that understanding wasn't communicated to the crew adequately for them to carry out the plan as intended (or perhaps the crew was simply overwhelmed with work still to be done elsewhere that day and had to skimp on the work they did in our yard). 2. Hardscape project was inexplicably delayed almost a year because Hector didn't send us a drawing for approval by our Homeowners Assn., despite several reminders. Eventually, the project was very well executed and looks great. 3. Sprinkler turn-off for winter was well done, with a powerful air compressor blowing out the lines to prevent freezes. Turn-on in spring was delayed such that we had to do it ourselves; we notified them we had done it ourselves, but Ivan showed up 2 weeks after promised, never having got the message from Hector. Back-flow test was mid-range in price. COMMENT: I think the Ordonez folks who run this outfit are knowledgeable and well-intentioned, but there was frequent inattention to detail by their crew that suggested inadequate supervision. In the future, I would use this outfit only for landscape/hardscape projects that can be planned and scheduled in advance, and with a penalty for delay in execution.

For this particular job, we wanted our very large and very old cherry tree pruned. There were too many suckers, and they cleared those out. But the main issue was the multiple "widow makers", branches looking like they could drop at any time. We had just set up a play structure that is under that tree. We bought it used, took it apart, and put it up, enhanced in a custom way. And the grandchildren were coming with the parents for a two week stay. Mascoti's got the job done, very well, didn't hurt our new backyard feature, and cleaned it all up. They also timed the pruning job to happen before some extra yard clean-up and adding of barkdust to side areas, and underneath that play structure. One thing they did not do was to bring down the canopy of the tree, just some, no more than by a third. They wouldn't do it then, in late July, wanting to wait for fall to be easier on the tree. I thought that was very smart. Guess it's time to give them a call for that job, plus the roof and gutters cleaning.

Mascotas was excellent! The cleanup they did was fantastic and they did a great job dealing with a fussy neighborhood. Our yard looked so good after the cleanup that we hired them to be our regular lawn service provider. Our yard looked great while they were in charge. I also found them to be very trustworthy. When the grass became dormant in the winter, they spent the same amount of time giving extra care to the bushes, trees and beds. We discontinued regular service when my son got old enough to take on the duties and it shows. I am currently hiring them to come back and refresh the landscaping.

Once again, Ivan and his partner did a great job and for a very reasonable price. I first hired him nearly three years ago for some extensive landscaping, and he was definitely a "find."

They do a really wonderful job and I will continue to use them and recommend them to others.

One or two members come out to provide the service. They come every once every two weeks. They are professional and cost effective. They have a good service and I would recommend to a friend or family member.

My initial contact was with Ivan, and he was the one who also did the majority of the pruning. He was friendly, professional, and did an excellent job. Also he knows his plants. He and his partner cleaned everything up, cleared away all the accumulated leaf debris under the hedge, and hauled it all away. I will definitely work with these people again.

Hector contacted me promptly following my initial inquiry and came by a few days later. We walked the property and reviewed everything that needed to be done. He advised it would be a week or so before they could do the job. The following Thursday he called to say they could be over on Friday if that worked for me. They arrived at the agreed upon time, worked diligently for 5 hours and completed all the tasks to my satisfaction. I have hired Mascota's to continue with routine maintenance for my yard work.

I have used them for a few years. They are reliable and do a good job.

Very professional from the first point of contact - emailed thru Angie's site; quick response back. Met the following day for a bid - as a preliminary to meeting I sent a layout with verbiage of what I'm looking for. When we met, he had a printed copy of the diagram, outlined in his proposal matching what I said I wanted done along with price. Punctual, came when he said he would, worked until job was finished. Walked thru to make sure I was satisfied. Reasonable and honest - very personable and pleasant. A professional. I was pleased and will utilize his services again, and I've shared this with my friends, they are looking forward to the same experience that I've had and look forward to again. Just want to make mention that Ivan was my point of contact from start to finish, very good businessman. I would like to include a special acknowledgment to Ivan for making this all possible

We were never were able to make contact via email. Hector was great with direct phone contact. We delayed the original date of work that was in April due to our son's birthday. Hector told us that they would do the work after 4/13. After waiting a few weeks to hear from Hector, I called him and his crew came out right away to treat for moss initially and then came out about 2 weeks later (after calling again, originally told 1 week later) to finish the work . There was miscommunication between him and his crew and work that was supposed to be done on our neighbor's yard (gift from us) was not done. They came back a week later to do this portion of the job. At the time of the estimate, Hector said that the our plantings would also be trimmed back but were not. Finally, we reminded him that we also requested an estimate for work to be done on our sprinkler system. He had one of his crew come out to look at it. We never heard back and I was done calling or trying to email by this point. As far as the work that was done, they did a great job. We finally received our bill June 11. I was more than happy to pay for the work that was done but was overall disappointed in their service. I faxed a letter to their office stating what was mentioned above and did not hear back (which was fine). I have enclosed the same letter along with the payment to hopefully help them not make the same mistake with other customers. Our job was small but very important to us. I just felt that all of their other jobs were more important and we were pushed aside. I could have easily finished the work myself in the time I spent calling and waiting. I was just trying to same myself some work and time.

The work was done on schedule. The folks who came to do the initial clean up worked non-stop for a full day and did a fabulous job. My only complaint, and this is my fault, is that I didn't specify the shaping I wanted for some of the larger bushes. That is really only on me though. Otherwise, it was an incredible feat to get done to the degree they did that day. They have since come back to do the maintenance and I have not had one iota of concern about it. The yard has never looked so wonderful! and I am relieved of the worry about who is taking care of them.

I am so glad to have found Ivan and Mascota's. I was late in the season getting started in finding someone to support my home yard needs. My prior landscaper had moved out of the area. I was frustrated I had to search again for someone to trust in supporting my yard needs as this is never a fun venture. Upon finally scheduling appointments Ivan at Mascota's was one of the businesses I scheduled with. I got my original quote from Ivan and he noted with the great weather we were getting it would be about two weeks until he could come onsite. True to his word within two weeks he was scheduled and out on site. When they completed the job my yard had never looked better in 5 years of owning my home. Every tree, plant and bush was impeccably pruned and trimmed, the lawn was replaced and done well and right (unlike the prior lawn installations from another landscaper). Ivan and his team remembered every detail of what I asked to be done and when I got home that evening I was impressed. Their clean up was also simply perfect - from all of the trimming and neighboring trees not one leaf, branch or residue from any of the work was in the yard. It was impeccable. I already have asked Ivan for quotes on more jobs including fence installation, pergola roofing, concrete staining and sealing and additional yard work. I am so glad to have found a company I can rely on and with Ivan a great person and businessman who is fair, honest and a good person who will stand behind his work. I would recommend working with Ivan based on my current experience and hope the future projects go as well as my first.

I asked that all the weeds be sprayed but it appeared that they weren't to me. It seemed to me that they wanted a monthly agreement and only did the cleanup to get to a service agreement. I asked for a second cleanup prior to putting the property up for rent and they were very unresponsive. I had to threaten to cancel the service request after waiting 1 1/2 weeks they would come and service the property. I just signed up for a bi-monthly service in April with another company. I thought about calling Moscota but having to chase them down last fall to get the property serviced again was a problem that I couldn't overlook.

Mascota landscaping gave me an estimate which was far better than the first landscaper I called. They showed up on time and did a beautiful job of getting our yard in shape to be put on the market. I will use them again next time!
