No call, no show

Marty came over to our house to put up some bathroom hardware. He was also going to look at some minor construction work to be done at a later date. He came in, checked out what needed to be done, said he was just going to get his tools and left! We thought maybe his tools were at home so we waited a bit. Left a couple of messages and he never returned the calls. Of course he never answered. Finally he texted us saying, "Don't worry, I'm not coming back." ?? We have no idea why. I SUSPECT I know. We're from California and I am a woman. I felt prejudice towards me. He's what might be called "country". I think he simply didn't want to work for a woman, especially a woman from California. BUYER BEWARE. This guy is not only unreliable but he is unethical as well. I wouldn't want a woman home alone, especially a Californian, having this guy in their home. I think he's mentally unstable. Who leaves for no reason? I barely spoke to him and my partner Bob is the nicest guy on the planet so it's on Marty whatever it is. Unprofessional and a huge time-waster. Notice the 2 other Fs he's received recently.

Agreed to be at my house at 9:00AM on Thursday, but did not show up. Called both phone numbers provided looking for information on why he was not there, no answer. Left messages to please call me back, received none!

It went fine, looks fantastic, probably looks better than it did when cedar was first installed and painted. Marty was here on time, quiet, never quit working, gave an accurate bid, no mess, just a great job. Please note: he only works in the SW area of town. Yes, he is a great handyman, but painting interior and exterior is his thing. My siding looks seamless, would hire him in a heartbeat and will probably have him fix and paint the rest of the house next year, and wash and stain the decks.

He arrived right on time, very nice fellow. Got the job done in fairly short time. When it came time to pay, he said he couldn't charge me the full amount (the minimum fee) as it didn't take that long and he lived not very far away. I certainly will use him again and refer him also.

We have been using Marty for about the last 14 years or so. He has been a gift for us with all the variety of skills he brings to helping with all the maintenance on our home. The past six years he has been helping with my staging business when we have home owners or realtors we are working with that need all his different skills to get houses ready to sale, inspections or pending sales that inspections have turned up things that need to be fixed. I recommend him all the time with complete knowledge that he will do a great job. Besides his variety of skills, most important to me is that we trust him with our home and his integrity. The hourly rate he charges is extremely reasonable for the quality and amount of work he does.

The guy who came is very reliable. I have been using him for a long time. If there is a problem, he is willing to work it out. He can do different kind of things such as plumbing, electrical, painting or roof cleaning.

We use Marty's all the time. He offers a wide range of services, including gutter cleaning. We are totally happy with Marty, and his work. We will definitely continue to use him in the future.
