Mark responded immediately to our Angie's list inquiry and provided a competitive bid- he also was able to attend to the job immediately so that we could compete the critical preparation of our house for sale. This was finish work which required meticulousness and speed. He was flexible, personable and offered reasonable options as the job got going. We would not hesitate to use him or refer him to others.

We hired Mark through an Angie's List deal, and we were so pleased with his work, we immediately hired him again for another project. We are picky customers, and Mark's work met our expectations. He was very professional, polite, and easy to work with. He was very good about providing an accurate bid, and straightforward when additional request would change the price.

Awesome. Absolutely awesome. They did a great job and at a great price. And, we had visit twice as much before on that company and they did a great job. He did some additional work at the same price he had advertised on. In other words, he couldn't finish the sculpt of work in the time allotted so he did some more work but he cut me the same deal and it was very fair. He's a straight up guy. He does what he says he's gonna do.

Mark was great! Very prompt in responding to emails and phone calls and offered to come by for an estimate the next day. He was very punctual for the estimate and the 3 days of work he did, a first for me-a contractor showing up when they said they would! He scheduled me for two weeks out and had very fair prices. He did a great job communicating to me and confirmed two days before starting, and when he was here he was very hardworking and friendly. He was very accommodating and respectful of my needs as I was home sick, and went to the extra effort to block the door so the fumes wouldn't bother my animals and I. He finished when he said he would, and he cleaned everything up good as new-well better actually. He was great all the way around!

If you are looking for a highly skilled painter with personal attributes that appear less frequently these days (e.g., a craftsman who is kind, thoughtful, patient, honest, and good-humored) hire Mark Powers as your next painter! I initially called Mark in response to a $199.00 Angies's List - Painter for the Day - Big Deal coupon. He responded promptly to my call and arrived exactly on time for his estimate. He completed a seasoned craftsman's assessment of what I asked him to paint. He carefully explained how much of the work he could complete for the value of the coupon. I'd previously guessed that a painter would need at least 2 days to complete the job I'd outlined for him. Mark estimated 1 1/2 days and did indeed complete the work in that timeframe. This painter so knows what he is doing! He helped us do problem solving around paint finish choices and was clearly right about those suggestions. We were very pleased with his painting. His prep work and clean-up was impeccable. We will absolutely hire Mark Powers again!

First off, the owner outright refused to provide 8 hours of painting as the so-called special stated. I got maybe 5.5 hours and that was only after a lot of persistence by me. Mark Powers said most people just get one room painted for the $199 cost while others on Angie's List charge half the cost. While Mark and I agreed he would also paint the walls of a very tiny hallway with only a couple feet of wall, on the day of the work he reneged. He also quoted me an outrageous price to do additional painting and insisted the prep work (taping, tarping) would take 8 hours alone. I hired someone else to do the additional work for about 40% of his estimate and they took less than one and a half hours to prep. While the actual painting was average, the tape work and tarping was done poorly. I spent at least 1.5 hours cleaning paint off wood trim and paint spatter which was everywhere. In the bathroom, a wall wasn't painted all the way to the floor trim so I had to do it myself. They also did not fill in small holes as their ad promised. Avoid Mark Powers Painting.

Mark quickly returned my call for help and stopped by that day to take a look at what I wanted done. We scheduled a time convenient for us both a week and a half later. Mark and his assistant, Jordan, were very professional -- arrived on time, did a thorough job of prepping and cleaning up -- and best of all did a fabulous job painting and touching up the ceiling edge to correct a prior poor paint job that had leaked above the walls onto the ceiling (Mark even helped me match the ceiling paint color). The job was also a challenge due to the high ceilings and a couple pieces of heavy furniture (which they graciously moved -- without any damage). I will definitely use them in the future for any painting I need done.

He did a wonderful job. He detailed carefully, prepped well, cleaned up and finished in a timely manner. I will definitely call him for other painting jobs.

I was satisfied. They were diligent and hustled. They were quick and got it done efficiently. I trust him implicitly. I have recommended him to others as well. I would definitely hire him again.

He, as usual, is very processional, immaculate in his prep work of protecting everything in the kitchen so it doesn't get damaged, he sanded down all cabinets, re-stained, and finished them all. He is very particular and careful when working on wood. He refinished our Bathroom cabinets a few years ago, and did an excellent job. He was particular to detail, and no delays. Will use him again.

It was good. Mark was really nice and I didn’t have any problems with him. They were punctual and it didn’t take them long to do the job. I have used them twice now.

Mark and his two-man crew (his son and another fellow) showed up on the Monday promised, and got the job done in four days. They were neat and tidy and didn't damage anything. They were also pleasant guys to have around. When I called him later, Mark came back and scraped and touched up one spot where the power washing hadn't totally removed a hornet nest and it got painted over (he couldn't see it when spraying because it was under an overhang). He has been great to work with and I would hire him again, probably will for some interior painting this winter.

It was a painless process. They were clean and did a good job. I am planning on hiring him again to paint my bathroom for me.
