I do not contract for tree pruning or removal. I do not move or transplant trees.

Excellent knowledge base and a pleasure to work with. Provided documents that were very detailed and provided them in a timely manner. Gave me advise on a couple other trees as well.
Description of Work: Hired John to provide written disposition of our hedge's value that was cut down by our crazy neighbor in the event we chose to take legal action.

Great service. Great help in navigating the bureaucracy.
Description of Work: I got an arborist report from John Oshea for a development project that had tree issues. Where I felt before hiring him all their was dead ends and closed doors, those doors opened with his report and advise. He also advised me on tree permit violation issue.

John used an air gun to blow out 18 inches of soil to see what large roots would be effected by excavation. One large root was cut. He mitigated the moving of one foundation wall and was also on site during excavation to cut roots. It is far better to cut roots then rip them with an excavator. A full report was written with photos and recommendations for tree protection zones and follow-up. He truly cares about tree preservation but at the same time tried to satisfy his client, the contractor and myself, a neighbor who has an emotional attachment to these beautiful trees.
Description of Work: John O'Shea was a consulting arborist for the contractor building a home next door to me. I requested that an arborist access the potential construction damage that could occur to native Western Red Cedars straddling the property line. Since the construction was initiated by the contractor, the contractor agreed to pay for the consulting service, even though there trees are 1/2 mine. I advise anyone with trees that might be affected by neighboring construction to insist on this type of service as there are currently no City codes protecting trees from construction, especially on neighboring property (unless it is an Environmental zone). With an arborist report, if your trees die, you at least have documentation- for a building contractor, it is indicative of good faith intent to save the trees.

Enjoyed being educated about our trees and being reminded that they are an asset to our home which warrants taking care of them by pruning.
Description of Work: John came with his assistant and did the "walk and talk " about my trees and reviewed them for health. Made recommendations to 2 sources for tree pruning and recommendations for types of trees to plant in our wet , clay type soil. For a written report he charges more.

He was prompt and was upfront with the price. He did more work than I expected. The quality of his work was good and I was satisfied with his service.
