Jim Myers Construction

We were introduced to Paul Myers along with his brother, Jim, by Jeff Shaffer who we met through Angie's List for carpentry work. Paul and Jim weren't on Angie's List but we immediately felt comfortable with them, their knowledge of the work needed, and their quote. We didn't compare or look any further. Maybe not the smartest move but we also trusted Jeff and his recommendation. We couldn't be happier with the work done and with our interactions with Paul and Jim. Our house is a story and a half. They suggested shake cedar shingles (lightly stained red) for the upper half story and clear cedar planks for the awnings. The first story has cedar planks which is in the process of being painted. There were actually three layers of siding to be removed, originally expected only two. Once removed, the base wasn't sufficient to nail the cedar to the house, that plywood needed to be purchased and installed. We were given a quote and moved forward. We had 13 new Milgard Tuscany windows (not the best windows) installed. Due to a miscommunication with Lowes, the windows were ordered at rough diminsions instead of actual. (Our Lowes Rep, Michael, at Delta Park was fantastic to work with.) All windows arrived larger than expected. Six windows were intentionally to be resized, but regardless all window openings had to be reworked. The whole crew did not bat an eye at the challenge. The Myers cut the openings and Jeff Shaffer & Curtis (written in a separate review) installed the windows. It took under 3 weeks to complete. Every day worked was a full day's worth. Our home looks beautiful! We have receive so many compliments of the quality of their work, their choice of materials, and their quickness of getting the job done. This was a huge job - at least to us. But we felt very comfortable working with them. They were easy to get in touch with and easy to talk to when we had questions. We can't say enough Thank yous for the beautiful transformation of our home :)
