+ 0 moreWe are very pleased with the quality of Holly's work, as well as her fun personality. She is a cat lover just like us, so we connected very well on the project and she understood our needs immediately and completely. She surpassed my expectations for a solid design, and we feel her price for the service was quite reasonable. She's also offered to make tweaks and consult with our builder as needed if he has questions or wants to make small changes. She even drew little cats in the plans to show how they would use the space. :) We are considering asking Holly to help us with other remodeling projects in the future, including our kitchen, master bathroom, and our front stairs.
Description of Work: We contacted Holly in late September/early October to draw up architectural plans for a "catio" project (a complete backyard deck remodel with an enclosed area for our cats). Holly was very excited about the project and got back to us right away, took measurements and our initial concept drawings, and within 10 days had a preliminary design ready to show us. We were very happy with the design and had her finish the plans, which she had done in just another two weeks even with other projects and a planned vacation. She took care of structural engineering, put complete building notes in the plans for our builder, and gave us plenty of advice on how to get the necessary permits from our city.

+ -1 moreShe is wonderful. She was very good to work with. She came to our house and listened to what we wanted, then made suggestions for improvements. She was very personable. After I got the plans back she called to make sure everything was alright. We had no trouble obtaining the permit to have the carport put up. She even called us to follow up to make sure we got the permit. She even gave a discount for Angie's List members.
Description of Work: She is our architect, she did the design for a carport.

+ -1 moreGreat, As I mentioned we are currently getting bids on the construction phase of our project.
Description of Work: My wife and I had Holly advise, (design) a family room expansion, from 18'x13' to 18'x25'. She came up with different options for angles / pitches so the addition blened with the existing structure. She came up with different window sizes and placement option. Our goal was to have greater seating in our family room by turing it into a great room. She also drew up different furniture options for maximum seating and TV veiwing. She just dilivered our final plans, all that are needed to secure bids from contractors and submit to the county for building permits. I would also add that she has been very helpful in going to the county building department for us and determining all permits we will need and the timeframe involved. All through the process she was timely and communicated well with my wife and I. I would highly recommend her.

+ -1 moreHolly did a great job of creating our drawings, calculating beam sizes, and a few follow-up requests we've had once we started on our remodel. She also helped us out with a few design questions that we had early in the process. Holly created a quality product for us within the timeframe and budget promised. I would definitely recommend her to friends and use her again on a future project.
Description of Work: We had a pretty good idea going into our project of how we wanted to remodel our house. We needed someone to create professional drawings for permitting and bidding, and also some calculations done for new beams in a few places.

+ -1 moreWe started out by sharing ideas and showing her what we had to work with. She made suggestions and took measurements of our place, then provided us with a few examples of what we could do. She was very good at incorporating our input and also telling us what wouldn't work. When we were done, she provided us with a few sets of plans.
Description of Work: Holly helped us transform our small 1970's home into a space we can actually use and love by designing a new look and adding on 500 square feet.
