Description of Work: The surveyor never responded or returned my calls. I contacted him twice through his web site and once leaving a phone message over a two week period. I had sent the parcel number and other information and requested an approximate cost to survey our 43 acres located outside of La Center. We've since hired another surveyor to perform the work. Sincerely, Stephen Boynton of La Center Farms

I needed a survey to put up a fence. Left Griffin a message on Angie's list and he provided a free bid same day. I hired him to fin the existing monuments for back property line. Was very professional in doing the survey which took several hours. Didn't cut any corners and made sure it was done correctly. Location of property line was unmarked and unclear and hadn't been surveyed since 1957,. Only one monument remained. He went extra mile to survey rest of property line and marked it for me at no extra charge. Highly recommend.

Builder who owns lot next to me began excavation and cut down trees on my property while I was on vacation. Thus the need to have the property line resurveyed by a professional and land markers provided, so that the Builder could have proof of their encroachment on my property and for me to seek appropriate remedies. Ken found the original monuments by the surveying firm that assisted the Developer years ago, made those obvious with posts and flags and provided additional land markers so there would be no confusion on the property line. Ken is an experienced professional who responded within a few hours of my initial call and was able to provide the service within a few days of request, providing a detailed emailed proposal of services and price before proceeding. The price was fair and represented the value of Ken's work and knowledge. I would use Ken again if necessary and recommend him to Homeowners and Businesses.

Exceptional! This was the first time I've needed this service so was uncertain going into it. From initial contact to completion was less than a week. He clarified exactly what I wanted when finished and did only that work, and charged only for that work. They were on time, professional, and gave me complete confidence in knowing the property lines. Absolutely outstanding experience in a stressful situation.

I picked Griffin because of all the good reviews, and my experience was excellent. I recently bought a house in SW Portland and want to fence my yard. My lot is 76 x 100, but I was unable to find the corner pins (the house was built in '61). I e-mailed Ken Griffin on Thursday. That evening he e-mailed me a quote with a couple different options. On Friday he answered all my questions and on Monday he did the work. He was able to find one corner pin and then had to survey the rest from points up and down the street. He put in some stakes/markers for my fence contractor. Before he left he showed me what he had done and answered my questions. Overall, a very positive and hassle-free experience and less expensive than expected. I will definitely use Griffin again if the need arises.

I called Griffin Land Surveying and the process was explained to me. Within 24 hours I had a quote emailed to me and I printed and signed that with half the payment due. As soon as they got my check, they came out to do the work. They spent all morning doing their work carefully. I got the markers I needed and now can proceed with my other projects with peace of mind that I know where the property lines are. The charge for this work may seem high, but $400 of that goes to the county to document this marking. Also, the cost was within what my designer said it would cost to do.
Description of Work: The service was very quick and efficient. I am in the process of getting bids on rebuilding my garage and want to eventually have a fence built. The designer could not locate any land markers and so it was clear that a good survey was necessary.

I received a few estimates and decided to Go Ken Griffin because he was very responsive and firm on his price. Other estimates I received would change depending on trees in the way, etc, etc. Ken gave me a proposal and that is what I paid. There were no surprises. He was very courteous and answered all of my questions. He provided me with a detailed map within a week of the survey. I would definitely recommend him.

It was easy to contact Ken and set up a date. He was very responsive to questions that I emailed him before the survey was done. He arrived on time and was very professional in his approach. He gave me very accurate boundaries of our property. He was courteous and helpful the entire time. I would use him again without hesitation.

Ken Griffin was very professional, offered the services at the most competitive rates of the 3 people I contacted, and was very responsive via email to not only our original request for a quote but also in planning a date for survey. The drawings took a couple weeks after the actual survey, and were very detailed. In addition to the requested CAD file, he also provided a PDF file so we could use the information for other needs later. We would definitely hire him again if we had another need for land survey.
Description of Work: Requested survey of approximately 2.5 acres for property lines, contours, building corners, all large trees, fences and then to create dwg file for architect's use.

Prior to completing the purchase of a vacant residential building lot, I needed a survey of the property to confirm boundry lines and corners. I also wanted a few elevation points on the sloping lot to help the home designer with grade design. Ken promptly responded to my email inquiry with a phone call to confirm what I needed and followed up with written proposal. He price was competitive with another I received. I had a short timeframe to complete the work within the contingency period defined by my purchase agreement and Ken was able to schedule the survey within a couple days of my orgininal inquiry. While at the site, Ken took extra elevation measurements and provided a more detailed topography map of the lot at no extra cost - this was a big help to the home designer. As we were completing the design process, I needed to prepare a site/plot plan for the city. The detailed topography map that Ken provided was an excellent starting point, and when I asked Ken for a revised version with different scale to meet city requirement, Ken quickly provided the revised map. Extra service at no extra cost!

Ken did a great job with the survey, even coming out a second time to make some small adjustments. He was very patient with our questions (some of which were asked after the job was complete). The resulting maps were exactly what the city and county needed, so that saved us a lot of headaches during that process.

The process has been a real pain in the pinfeathers, but certainly not because of Griffin Land Surveying. Ken was prompt, explained everything in detail, and educated me on the process. In the end, I realized there was no point in spending a minimum of $2,500 to survey a property line just to build a $900 fence, and I decided to just let it be. Ken was exceptionally honest and forthright ("There is not a record of your property ever being surveyed and I feel this would be a difficult/expensive project...I am not interested in spending your money needlessly and hope you can come to an agreement with one of the other surveyors.") So even though I did not do the work, I remain very appreciate of his honesty and professionalism.
Description of Work: I needed to build a fence along a property line, and the neighbor wanted a professional boundary line. I contacted Ken twice, the first time to get a rough estimate of a full property survey, then later to just do a "line locate" by locating the buried iron poles, at the suggestion of the fence builder.

Work was done in a timely manner. We have a copy of the survey, but are still waiting for the final, recorded one, from the Co.
Description of Work: We needed a property survey done before we installed new fencing. Ken was very helpful. He gave us two prices, the lower one would be if he coudl find the existing boundaries per the last & only survey (1964). He was unable to do so, and we opted for him to resurvey and record with WA Co., which cost us $1600.00 for the survey and a $350.00 WA Co file fee. It was a necessary expense, for a variety of reasons, and we were very pleased with Kens work, professionalism, and good customer service. We were able to proceed with our fencing, secure in the knowledge that it would follow our lot(s) boundaries!

A+ services. Ken did it all remotely. He did everything he said and went above and beyond the call of duty. Even went back and spent additional time B/C the current landowner's information(false) was different than his instruments were telling him. Rather than just moving on, ken went out and resurveyed to check his work. He had about twice the original amount quoted in this job, but kept his original bid. He is awesome, professional and i would certainly recommend him to anyone. YOu may call me personally for a reference, Ken has my contact info.
Description of Work: Ken did a flood survey and certificate for us for a property we are thinking of purchasing. WE live out of town and needed some independent verification for a property we were thinking of along the Tualitin River.

We needed to find our property lines before replacing a retaining wall, and hired Ken after we failed to find the markers ourselves. Even before he was officially hired, Ken did some groundwork from his office and offered us some free advice. At our property, he and his son spent quite some time searching for the original markers in an effort to provide us with a cheaper option ($500). Eventually they had to go farther afield to find other monuments, even digging up a small section of our road to unearth some, and completed a full survey ($700). That revealed that the actual property line was some distance from where we had originally believed it to be. Ken made sure he had found the original steel markers, and reset stakes on the corners. He provided us with a detailed survey map and submitted that to the County, which generated an additional mandated fee of $350. Throughout the entire procedure Ken was professional, friendly, and cheerful despite the fact that I inconvenienced him by making him wait around for me. His work was meticulous, and he made sure that I understood each step and took extra time for clear and thorough explanations. I would hire him again in a heartbeat

Description of Work: I needed to find out quickly who owned the concrete retaining wall that was listing into a neighbor's yard. The new neighbor was building a fence. Ken gathered information, even before I said I'd go with him. As it turned out, my husband found the property stake underneath leaves and dirt. We were able to get a good enough feeling as to whose the wall was. Therefore, I didn't need any service after all. I will in the future, however, need to deal with another retaining wall and ownership of that. If I can't find the stake, I will definitely call Ken. Even though he didn't get any business afterall, he was pleasant throughtout the time period. I have a feeling that anyone using his services will be working with a person of integrity.
