Tom's crew of 3 showed up exactly on time to trim my very tall trees and clean up some shrubs that were spreading into the yard. They also offered some professional advice when I asked for it. The young men were very "safety" conscious. They did exactly what I wanted, working all day with very few breaks. There was no damage to my deck, and fencing. There was no cussing or music. The clean up made the property look better than when they started. I'm very happy with the job.

I have used Flag Tree Service in the past for tree trimming and removal, they always perform work as directed and are very professional in the way they stack or dispose of the excess limbs and cuttings. One of my best contractors and very competitively priced. Do yourself a favor and get a quote form Flag the next time you require tree service.

Flag Tree came out promptly to give me an estimate on removing the tree. Their estimate was significantly lower than the other estimate I received from another company. They came out the next day and cut down the tree. They chipped the branches and cut the base of the tree into 16" logs that they stacked for me. While doing this work they noticed a branch that had broken off a nearby fir tree so I had them remove that too. They did a nice job cutting down the tree without disturbing nearby plants and cleaned up nicely. I highly recommend them for removing trees.

We had a ~70 ft. sweet gum tree next to our house. During a heavy windstorm, a large branch broke ~30 ft. up the tree, narrowly missing our house. It weakened the remaining tree, making it a hazard, and more wind and rain were forecast again the next day. I had previous experience with Flag Tree Service nearly 15 years ago. I called them early in the morning, and Tom returned my call promptly. He met me at my house within the hour and provided an estimate. His crew was on another job already, but he could see the tree was a hazard with the forecast windstorm, so he called his crew over to take our tree down first. That's service! Tom's son climbed the tree to limb it on the way up, and was above the break when the wind and rainstorm hit. The swaying tree and rain convinced him to cut the remaining top quickly. They were able to drop the remainder with only a minor dent to the rain gutter. They did a great job cleaning up over the next hour in the driving rain, even blowing the debris out of the gutter.

They were flexible about what could be done within the time allotted. Price quoted was for the day rather than specific items.

After obtaining three bids, we chose Flag Tree Service as they had the lowest overall bid and they were able to begin the work within a day or two. The crew arrived promptly at the scheduled time and immediately got to work. The largest walnut tree had several very large limbs overhanging a backyard deck, but the crew was very careful to line the limbs down so that no damage was done. The crew worked quickly and efficiently. The other two trees were taken down easily, and all limbs were chipped. The larger rounds were hauled away by a 2nd party that provides that service for Flag Tree Service- they don't haul it themselves. We had to wait an extra day for the additional removal of all the debris, but that wasn't a problem for us at all. In the end, all the work was done as promised and to our satisfaction. We will definitely contact them again in the future for other tree removal services.

Tom and the crew were great. Absolute professionalism from top to bottom. Not only did they remove the trees I requested, but cleaned up the nearby trees in a way that really beautified the yard.

They cleaned up everything and took it with them. It looks like they haven't even been here. I love Tom. They are very responsive. I?ve used them for the last 26 years.

I had a small job which involved removing a few lower limbs on one tree in my backyard. I called three tree services and asked for a bid. Owner Tom Gamel was the first to respond to my phone message and gave me a bid the same day. When he saw the job to be done he let me know his minimum charge was $150 and started identifying other things he could do to make it worthwhile for me to pay that amount. We added a couple limbs on a second tree and a tall stack of yard debris recently collected. Then he gave me a senior discount of $15. He also advised me to first ask the other bidders their minimum charge before having them come to the house. Excellent advise for the other minimums turned out to be $250 and $300 . Needless to say I called Tom back and he did the job two days later. Tom, his son James and their helper worked quickly and cleaned up the site very nicely.

This was a difficult job since the trees were very close to the house and a fence and leaning over the neighbors back yard. They had to work very carefully in order to not damage anything. The work went smoothly and the three men working on it did an outstanding job. It turned out that they underestimated the amount of time that the job would take as it took four hours instead of the two that they had estimated, however they still honored their original estimate. All of the people from the service that we were in contact with were personable and conducted themselves in a very professional manner. I recommend them highly.

Jim and Curtis are always very professional and did a great job from start to finish. They are prompt, courteous, very knowledgeable. They are fast and clean up everything. Always very pleased.

The work went well at a safe pace. The stump grinding looks great, and they even did a smaller stump we had forgotten about in a far corner of the yard without even being asked.

Tom arrived on time for estimate and he and crew arrived on time for the trimming. They did an ourstanding job, moved all the brush to the front, put it in a chipper and cleaned up everything so you didn't know they had been there except we got 6 more feet of our yard back and the laurel is no longer hanging over our deck. It is a huge 50 year old laurel hedge, more like 25 trees together. I will always use Flag Tree Service for our yard, they do excellent work and are competitive in pricing. Best quality tree service we have ever used and we have lived here for 24 years. They also trimmed our vine maple, japanese maple, and cherry tree.

He gave me an estimate to cut down trees. I've used him before and he was ok.

It was an excellent experience. Tom came by to view the tree the day after I contacted him. He gave me an estimate of $400.00, which was $75 dollars less than the other company I contacted for an estimate. He called the day before he came, as agreed, and then showed up when he said he would. His crew of 3 people had the tree down, the trunk sliced for firewood, the limbs chipped and the debris cleaned up within a couple of hours. The crew was very professional. I'd recommend this company to anyone.

I picked Flag Tree from Angie's List in late February 2009. Tom responded immediately to my call, went to my house and called me with a two-part estimate in case I didn't want to do all the work at once. He gave me advice & suggestions on trim treatment of a very large cedar tree in my front yard, plus estimates for the work I requested. He came out the following week, called me the day before to let me know he would be there, and performed the work and left me an invoice on the agreed amount. My neighbor emailed me at work to tell me Tom was doing a great job. Later, I found out that two of my neighbors approached Tom to do work or give a bid for their trees. When I got home that night, you couldn't tell anyone had been in my yard other than the fact that my trees looked trimmed.

I call Mr. Gamel about 8:30 AM. He said he could come by within the hour and give me an estimate. He arrived on time and we discuss the work I wanted done. He said he might be able to start in the afternoon as he was working on a project very close by. He gave me a $50 discount since he was in the area. He said he would call me later if he could start today. He came back about 11:30 AM to let me know that he had finished the other job and could start on my yard now. His son and another man would be doing the work. They did all the work as discussed. They had me do a walk through after the completion just to make sure that all the work was done as I wanted. They cleaned up all the debris. They did a great job!

Everything went very smoothly and they completed the job in no time. I've used their services for over 20 years and wouldn't think of using anyone else. They are professional and very easy to work with.

Tom arrived for estimate right on time and he arrived with his crew of 4 right on time also. They did an excellent job of taking down the trees and trimming the trees and were done in under 2 hours. I have lived here for 22 years and used a number of tree firms but Flag Tree Service is the best. I will have them back for more work in the future including trimming our large laurel hedge. Tom also trimmed my 2 Vine Maples for no charge, that was a surprise so I got more than I paid for. Excellent service and I will highly recommend it.

Great--Tom came out the same day I called him to give me an estimate. The next day he did the job and left me a bill. He did what we agreed on, no problems, no hassles.
