My townhouse had 45 year old galvanized water pipes, which barely delivered rusty water and was quickly clogging the filters for my drinking water. Neighbors in the townhouse complex recommended Oscar, of Excellence Plumbing. With my travel schedule and the demand for his services, it took a bit of time to schedule. I realized later that I didn't have to be in town, as communication of what was going to be done was very clear and my preferences noted ahead of time. In addition to changing out all the pipes, two shower heads and an exterior faucet were replaced, and a washing machine box installed. Walls had to be opened to get to the pipes. My personal items and furniture were carefully moved away from the walls, and after old pipe out and new pipe in, the opened walls were repaired and made ready for new paint. All was perfectly done. Furniture was replaced, except where I wanted it left out so I could paint a wall, everything vacuumed, etc. Excellence Plumbing went above and beyond in courtesy, promptness, communication, and additional service. An example of going beyond expectations is this: A few days after the re-piping, a guest noticed that the ceiling, where there were several large gaping holes left from a flood in the kitchen above the guest bedroom some time before, had also been repaired! Although the holes were in a room where the walls were opened, they were not part of the re-piped area and Oscar's repair was kindness and consideration added to excellent work. And, of course, I have great water pressure, and clean clear water in all my faucets!

Oscar came out and figured out we have a venting problem after augering both our bathrooms toilets. He also took the time to explain how our toilets function and what controls the water level in the bowl and tank, As usual he was on time and very professional. His follow up and guarantee on the work he does is excellent.

I called frantically at 9:30am because of, what I thought was, my ceiling in the bathroom gushing out water onto the floor. I tried numerous plumbers. The house water was off and no one could fit me in until Monday. WHAT???? Seriously. Excellence Plumbers said they would call back if they could squeeze me in...And they did. Justin arrived at 12:30 and discovered that it was not my ceiling or pipe, but the antique claw foot tub fixture that broke and was shooting water up onto the ceiling. He dabbled about a bit and fixed it. He also replaced the rubber thingy in a toilet in another bathroom. He cleaned everything up and I was quite pleased and extremely grateful. The bottom line is-I called, they came, they repaired the damage, disaster avoided, and they are my new plumbers. Period.

They were great. Everything about them was stunning. They have an instant service. We had a drain line that just went out and it was draining inside the wall and they got here that afternoon. It was a difficult repair but he was really knowledgeable and got what needs to be done. The price was reasonable for the work done. He did a very nice clean up. It was just positive and everything I could say about them is that they way a business should be run. It was really a difficult pipe to get to but he got it all fixed up and installed. For the quality of the work involved the price is great.

Oscar and crew arrived right on time an worked steadily for 5 days to completely install Wirsbo Uponor pipes for 3 bathrooms, kitchen, waterlines to wter heater, washing machine, 2 utility sinks, bar sink and 5 outside faucets. They demolished an old shower in master bathroom and disposed of all debris. They installed a new shower with a frameless glass door. In the garage they installed an EL Mustee wall hung utility tub sink with a sprayer faucet. The work was done professionally and they cleaned up debris each day. The water flows thgrough all pipes quickly and clearly - no more rust from the old galvanized pipes! Oscar does not do drywall repair work but gave me the name of an drywall person that he has used on other jobs. I contacted that team and they came over and repaired all cuts in the walls and ceilings that were made from the plumbing project. Excellence Plumbing is a family operated business and they value their customers. I never had any complaints or problems; every piece of the work Excellence Plumbing does is personally guaranteed by Oscar and he makes the work he does a quality project. Excellence Plumbing is now my go-to plumbing company and I will use them for all my plumbing needs.

Just a great local business. 18 months ago they replaced my waterheater when it blew over the weekend. Unfortunately (no fault of theirs) the new tank was defective and failed. They were out here in a flash to deal with it. Yes it was covered, but the manufacturer refused to allow them to replace it under the warranty, insisting I use their contracted provider. The manufacturer's plumber could not get out for 2 days, and then I learned that they wanted to charge me $500 or more to replace it. When I told Excellence this, they got back on the phone and advocated for me with the manufacturer's warranty department, finally getting them to relent and let Excellence do the job. An hour later I had a new waterheater. Great folks and they stand behind their work.

First off, I have used Excellence Plumbing before and will again. They have replaced a water heater for us and also repaired a leaking tub drain before this project. I called Shelly and she arranged to have Justin come by at noon on Wednesday to give a look see. I got a call from her Wednesday morning asking if it was okay for Justin to come by early as he was running ahead of schedule. He arrived around 11:00 and we spent the next 45 minutes talking about all of the options and finally narrowed it down to what made the most sense long term. Even though it would have been potentially a little cheaper to fix the actual break, based on the amount of trees and competing service lines, we decided to fix this problem once and for all. He called Shelly to arrange for the locate service to come out and since it wasn't an emergency, we had to wait 48 hours and it took every minute of those 48 hours for them to come out by the way. Meanwhile the guys had arrived at 9:30 to start digging by hand to get a jump start and were basically done and waiting when the locator finally arrived. They then bored under the driveway and into the crawlspace and replaced the old PVC line with Wirsbo which has no joints so should last a long time. After a few hours of crawling around in a crawlspace not intended for grown men, Justin and Suhile had connected to the garage valve and then hooked up our service at the meter. The whole job took about 6 hours and the water was only shut off for about 1-1/2 of those hours. The inspector was supposed to show up on Monday to check but never did so we had to arrange for one to come out on Tuesday. He just left passing the job with flying colors and now Excellence is coming out to bury the line by the street and then we are done! Oscar, Shelly, Justin and Suhile are great folks, easy to work with and very friendly as well as clean and professional. It hurts to pay that much money to replace a leaking pipe, but these people make it as painless as it can be...kind of like the dentist...it may hurt, but in the end it is worth it!

Oscar came promptly. He crawled into our crawl space to replace the pipe for our toilet. He refitted new flange and properly installed the toilet. No more leaks! I didn't mention the Angie's List discount, but he gave it to me anyway. Thanks, Oscar!

Justin was wonderful. He is smart, personable, and a true artisan. He was able to solve a very difficult problem in a practical manner in a short (3 hour) time frame. He put in a new pipe and vent and capped the problem area so we were able to avoid taking out portions of the cabinets. He also cleaned the entire length of pipe to assure great drainage.

There were some minor issues but in the long run they were great. However, they came back and cleaned things up right away. They did put in part that broke and flooded our basement, however they returned later that evening. Their customer service was phenomenal. I would sure use them again. They were very lovely to take care of us the way they did.

Excellence was very easy to schedule with and sent someone out relatively quickly. He diagnosed our leaking water heater as having a problem with the heat expansion valve (it only leaked -- dripped, really -- with hot water) and installed an expansion tank. He also replaced the cracked pipe coming out of the heat expansion valve. He re=routed it so it even in the worse case scenario it won't drip directly onto the plywood platform the tank is sitting on top of in our garage (which is now warped and soggy because of the leak). If it does drip again, it will drip onto the concrete floor of our garage. The water heater is getting up there in age -- ~10 years old -- but the technician said even if/when we get the heater replaced we can still use the expansion tank and just connect it to the new tank. The technician was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and personable. We would highly recommend Excellence Plumbing.

Justin and Oscar are great guys and went above and beyond, several times, to help me out. Probably not the "cheapest" plumbers but reasonable and more reliable than the first plumber I tried to hire (he ended up cancelling with less than a week out) and they do a great job! (I should note that this was my first experience hiring a plumber) I bought my first house but it needed a lot, A LOT of work. I had to remodel both bathrooms and the kitchen. So it was a shower, bath tub, three sinks, two toilets and a refrigerator waterline. On at least 3 occasions we discovered an extra plumbing-related problem and they took care of it immediately! They completed their work perfectly (as far as I can tell) and on time with only one issue - that was caused by a different contractor (Evans Tile) - but Justin fixed it right up, free of charge. All of the other contractors I hired for the remodel "finished" their work with at least 3 problems apiece, none of which have been resolved. Basically, if I had to do a remodel again, there is only one contractor that I would rehire: Excellence Plumbing - and I would do so without any hesitation!

Justin was knowledgeable, on time, and did a great job assessing the situation, coming up with two different options for the repair, and moving forward with the one I selected. I started calling Angie's list plumbers when I woke up to the leak and most couldn't get here quickly, but Excellence was here in the next 2 hours and got the job done.

Oscar is a blessing. He was able to repair a leak in my bathtub caused by an older difficult to access damaged cartridge. In contrast to a previous bid, he was able to do the repair without needing to go through a wall or take out tiles. This was done for a quarter of the price that was bid by another plumbing company. Excellence Plumbing was professional, friendly, clean, and able to clearly and patiently explain the problem, process and solution. Highly recommended.

They are very nice. I don’t have to pay them, they just bill me. It is a very small company. The guy that comes out for us is really good. We have been using them for three to four years. They are really good about coming out fast if you have an emergency or something. They have done quite a bit of stuff around here. This guy that came out was really good but his assistant that came out was not as good. Their prices are excellent. They didn’t charge me that much when they had replaced the sinks before. I had bought the sinks but they saved me quite a bit of money by providing the good sinks.

Total cost of the service was $570, which included purchase price of the toilet and its installation. We received a $57 rebate for selecting the provider from Angie's list. The work crew, Oscar and Soheil, arrived precisely at the appointed time of 9:00 AM. Installation took about one and a half hours. The crew took great care not to damage or soil carpets, flooring, fixtures or other parts of our home as they removed the old toilet and installed the new one. Although the floor in that bathroom is not perfectly level, the crew made absolutely sure that the toilet itself was perfectly level as prescribed by the manufacturer. They hauled away the replaced toilet at no additional cost. We were impressed with the crew's professionalism and were highly pleased with the final product. On the following day, shortly after we had telephoned the company about a question regarding the toilet's operation, the crew returned to our home at no cost to address our concerns. We will certainly hire Excellence Plumbing again for our plumbing needs.

Oscar showed up the same day I called. Made the repairs at that time. Easy people to work with, the price was right, did a great job.

I had water leaking from the discharge tube on my water heater despite having just replaced the T&P relief valve. I called Excellence Plumbing and they sent a team that afternoon. After testing the various options, the technician was able to determine that the T&P valve that was recently installed was defective. Rather than upselling other unnecessary fixes, he explained that he could do it for the full cost of the job or that I could do it myself and told me where to by a higher quality valve to avoid the likelihood of another defect. All I had to pay was the diagnostics which was worth it to know it was not a larger problem in the water heater. Arrived right on time as scheduled also.

They arrived on time, introduced themselves, discussed what I had and what I could do, took my decision and worked very quickly. Cost was far less than a smaller water heater of the same brand that was installed nearly 10 years ago.

Justin did a great job. Showed up on time. Was pleasant to work with and showed me how to do the task as it was a relatively simple one. I will continue to call Excellence Plumbing for our plumbing needs.

Oscar and Shelly were very nice to work with. Oscar came and gave the quote right away on the same day. We didnot get other quotes so I cannot say if the it is reasonable cost. They charged for coming home and giving quote but refunded/deducted from the service cost. Since we wanted to use their service, that was not an issue to us. Oscar and his buddy were friendly and did a great job. Oscar even gave us recommendations for doing our kitchen upgrade (finding the right guy to troubleshoot and install a island hood above the stove. We went with his recommendation and our project went smoothly). I will definitely use their service in the future.

Oscar really impressed me the first time I called Excellence Plumbing a couple of years ago after our visiting family accidentally sent broken glass through the garbage disposal. Oscar advised me over the phone how to clear it out and saved me $$ from having them come out! Who does that?! I decided then and there that we had found our household plumber. So when we recently were dealing with a leaky faucet, I called and got on the schedule. The day Justin was scheduled to come out, I received a message that they were behind at another job, and wanted to come later. I was a little upset since I had made arrangements for my husband to drop my daughter off at preschool (in order to get the first appointment of the day) and was pressed for time before I would have to pick her up. When I mentioned this to Justin, he apologized and immediately told me he would be right on over. Once he arrived, he explained how they were finishing up some work from a prior job and that Oscar had sent him immediately when they heard my situation. After realizing that I needed a replacement part for the leaky faucet and would need a follow-up appointment (the faucet is high-end and no one carries the part locally), Justin offered to take a look at all of our drains, fixed a couple of small issues that I had with a drain and a faucet handle and fixed a couple of issues with our leaky faucet, since he was here and wanted to be helpful. Since we didn't have the model# or accompanying documentation for the faucet, and it would be $$$ to replace, Justin called Oscar and he recommended that we take a photo of the faucet to email to the manufacturer for replacement. Sure enough, I followed their recommendations, and I'm now waiting for the part, and planning to call Excellence as soon as it arrives for them to replace the part for us. These guys are honest, clearly customer service oriented, and totally professional. I am a fan.

Justin was timely, courteous, and took time to understand my needs, explain my options and talk through my questions. The work he performed was solid, and looked great when he was done. No hesitation in calling them again. I have had more than one plumber come out over the years. Don't plan on shopping around any more. Really glad we found a plumber we can rely on in case we have future needs.

He is really good. He has been our plumber for years. He turned out to be a really top plumber and our neighbors have used him too. We don't know them on a personal level, in the sense that we don't do things socially with them, but we got acquainted with them through the soccer community here in Portland. He was a lifesaver.
