 + 0 moreI had a water heater go out in a rental and my tenant had no hot water. They offered the best time with a two day lead. In the meantime, they had me take pictures of the water heater and email it to them so they could get a start on analyzing the problem. They called the next day and said they had an opening. They rushed over there with the water heater and replaced it that evening! Tenant only had lost hot water for one day! They also gave me a discount for being an Angie's List member. Excellent service, kept both myself and the tenant constantly informed. Would highly recommend.

We first reviewed the jobs I wanted done and I also had several questions about the way some things worked in this new-to-me house and he was very helpful in explaining things. A quote was given based on the companies standard charges for specific jobs before work began. Justin fixed everything perfectly and the additional information on other items he provided was great. I have found my go-to plumbing company.

They would charge $65 just to provide a quote, and I was not told that cost would apply to work done. I was also told to contact by phone, instead of through Angie's list. I'm uncomfortable without a written record of a conversation.

After completing the "repair", I found that rather than a running toilet I had pipes that were now leaking all over the floor. I quickly called Oscar's team to fix my mistake. When his man came out (I can't remember his name.) he fixed my mistake in about 2 minutes flat. He then expressed concern that he didn't want to charge me the standard rate for such an easy repair. He took the time to call Oscar and see if he could reduce my fee, which he did. Then he took another half hour to talk to me about home plumbing repairs, show me what I had done wrong, and help me learn how to do the repair myself next time. I've marked below the most recent project Oscar performed, installing pressure reducing valve.
Description of Work: Oscar and his crew have been my go to plumbers for the last several years. I can always count on Oscar to be honest and perform high quality work. I also appreciate that Oscar uses good quality materials. He installed my garbage disposal 10 years ago and people still comment on how quiet it is. Since I first moved into this house Oscar has completed the following projects... Install garbage disposal (lost receipt) Install water heater - $975 Unclog and repair bathtub $80 Install sump pump and dig out drainage ditch $545 Install pressure reducing valve - $320 Fix owner caused plumbing mistake $90 The best story that shows the ethics of this crew happened a few years ago when I attempted to fix my own running toilet.  + -1 moreThe owner of the company is Oscar. He is very warm and happy personality. If you are going to do a re-pipe I would highly suggest you have Excellence do a bid (particularly Oscar). Oscar is great to work with. I'm very detailed and Oscar worked with me. I actually took two days of work and hung around with the work crew to make sure everything was done as I wanted. They moved fast and were professional. They worked with all my requests and weren't bothered by answering my many questions. I had them come back a few times for some minor adjustments, which they did promptly. Sohel (another licensed plumber) works under Oscar and is very courteous and does a professional job, along with valuing neatness. These guys are my go to plumbers for the future if I ever need to call one. They are at the top of the list in the Portland area. Shelly is the office manager and responded to many detailed emails I had with her in promptness. We now have a brand new water pipe system with PEX and I'm thinking it will outlive me. One special feature of the repipe (in addition to doing a good job with the actual repipe) is that Oscar replaced all the damaged drywall, which WILL happen if you do a re-pipe. He patched all the drywall and textured it. All I had to do was paint it. I don't know of other plumbers that will do that

 + -1 moreOscar is the owner of the company and class act. If you are going to get a plumbing re-pipe have him come to do one of your bids and you will see. I took two days of work off and hung out with the guys as they did a complete repipe over to pex from gal. steel. They were professional and did the job right. They worked with my specific preferences. I did a lot of research regarding my re-pipe and I went with these guys and glad that I did. They even fixed the damage to drywall!

 + -1 moreSwimmingly (it's a pool house). Oscar (owner of Excellence Plumbing) is such a delight to work with. He has been the plumber of choice for our 56 homeowners for many years. He and his crew were easy to work with and kept us well informed about changes, problems, and schedule. All pipes were insulated, grounded, and up to current code. The City of Beaverton permit inspector said he never finds problems with this company's work that cannot be corrected with a minor adjustment. We were very pleased and Oscar is the MAN for your next project.
Description of Work: Our Townhome Development has a Clubhouse with 2 attached bathrooms. The building was built over 40 years ago. The bathroom area was found to have mold and prior pest damage, as well as asbestos and dry rot. We had the bathroom areas Renovated and taken down to the studs. The building needed to be totally Repiped and new showers, toilets, and 3 sinks installed. Then we added in a new hot water heater.

 + -1 moreI searched for a plumber on Angie's list, the first plumber I contacted was booked until July so I searched again and after reading the reviews for Excellence Plumbing I called them. It took a week for a call back. (That should of been my first clue that this wasn't going to go well) I was ready to give up then, but I thought maybe I forgot to leave my call back number.. Shelly was very apologetic that she gotten busy and took so long to get back to me. She said, "She was not at the office so she didn't have what I was requesting in front of her (this should of been my second clue). Anyway she could schedule a plumber for Friday June 17th but we were going to be out of town that day so we scheduled for Monday June 20th. She said she would put us first on the schedule at 9 am so we wouldn't have to wait around for a 2 hour time frame appointment. So at 10 am June 20th I called, got voice mail, left a message to find out what time we could expect to see a plumber today. Shelly called right back and said she didn't have me on the schedule, she didn't even know who I was or what I was requesting. So I said lets cancel nothing.! Again, very apologetic, but that doesn't make up for the poor office management. So I don't know how the plumbers service would of been. Hopefully much better than the office!

 + -1 moreJustin explained costs and options of repairing toilet versus replacing toilet. He was very professional and personable. Determined that due to the age of existing toilet (and tank size) a new toilet would be more cost effective. Justin recommended which toilet would be better suited based on the age of the house (and piping). He called his office and in no time a new toilet was delivered. There was a small snafu and a taller toilet was delivered than what he requested. He quickly explained the differences and left it to me to decide if I wanted that toilet or the smaller one. I went with the taller toilet (and am now glad I did). He replaced the toilet in no time at all. I was very pleased that they removed the toilet so quickly and minus any mess. I never would have known they were there. Justin also gave me a heads up regarding the piping in the house (it's old and getting older) and took the time to explain to me some options that might be available in the future when I wanted to address replacing the piping. I will definitely use this company again. They lived up the name of their company.
