Description of Work: I was very pleased with the service. I had dropped something plastic in the toilet and it got stuck. I tried to unclog with my small snake but was unsuccessful. The serviceman was able to clear the drain and remove the plastic piece within 10 minutes. He was very helpful and professional. I will use Excellence Plumbing again - hopefully not too soon!

 + -1 morePlumber showed up on time and got to work. Turned into a big job, where he dug a hole by hand to get to the pipes. He spent about 4 hours digging and fixing, then came back the next day to fill the hole. Nice guy, conscientious. Owner swung by to see how things were going. This was my second time using them, and I would use them again. Had a 10% Angie's List coupon.
Description of Work: I had a pipe leaking in my yard, Excellence dug hole and found leak, and replaced the connecting piece that blew out.

 + -1 moreThe company responded quickly to a requested appointment. They would have cleaned and adjusted the equalizer valves for free but that was not the problem. They pointed out the problem then proved it. They replaced the sink faucet set with a high quality unit. They did all the work in under two hours. It went very well, though the cost of the faucet set was high, thus the B rating on price.
Description of Work: This company installed a recirculating hot water pump and valves in our house earlier. The kitchen equalizer valve was not working properly, not allowing cold water to pass well. They investigated the valves in the house and determined they were properly working. The fault was with the kitchen sink faucet set. It was replaced.

 + -1 moreIt took a while to get the toothbrush out. He used the snake and did many attempts before finally the toothbrush came back to the toilet as he couldn't push it through the pipes. He was very professional without causing any mess in the house or in the toilet.

When I asked how much a new toilet might be and if he could install today, we found a low flush online that he had in stock and I also got one with higher seat. He went back to his place, got toilet and extra man and by 12 noon all was done, clean and also told me about 10% Angie's list discount, and $75 rebate from my local water people. I like the new toilet. It's nice sleek and easy to clean design , and seat hight is perfect. Came with slow closing lid. Plumbing piece parts look a lot more solid than what was there before. I selected an American Standard EL (elongated seat), 12" high, Low Flush. Excellence Plumbing is highly rated by others and I concur. This is my second time using Angie's list and what a difference when you get good peeps who do good work and charge fairly.
Description of Work: Called to repair leaking tank. Had already replaced handle, seat and plug! Things in my condo have been gradually failing. The repair would have been $178. I opted for a new toilet.

 + -1 moreI was prepared (as were they) to possibly have to replace the entire line by a directional bore from the meter to the house. Fortunately, upon further examination it wasn't necessary, but they were prepared just in case. I was happy to see it wouldn't be necessary but was pleased that steps were immediately being taken in case it was. I was also very relieved that they came over that morning before their previous commitments to check out the problem and then were back that afternoon and the following morning to fix the problem. These guys are very conscientious and want to make sure the job is done right. We will definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: As I was getting ready for work, I could hear water continually running through the pipes. I did some checking and realized we had a water leak. I called Excellence Plumbing and talked to Oscar about it. He and Soheil came over in about an hour to check it out. Oscar went under the house and took pictures of the water running into our crawl space from a broken water line. They had other commitments so shut my water off and Soheil returned in the afternoon to begin digging. They had called for locates already so were immediately getting to the repair. Oscar arrived and it was determined that a much simpler repair could be made, saving us a good deal of money. They returned the next morning and replaced the leaking section our old rusted galvanized piping with new WRSBO pipe . This wasn't an easy repair as the break in our galvanized water line was in the foundation of our home. During the process, they discovered we had a broken rain drain that was also draining into our crawlspace so repaired it as well. Oscar made some suggestions while there on some repairs we could make ourselves to the rain drain. Thanks Oscar and Soheil for an Excellent job! You two were so helpful and hard working. We really appreciate how quickly you turned our situation around!

The toilet had a broken flange, which required him to do some adjustments to the concrete floor to reattach the new flange. He did an excellent job of making the new flange conform to the concrete opening. Very nice people to deal with.

 + -1 moreMy two previous experiences with Excellence Plumbing were with Oscar, the owner of the company, but this time Oscar was unavailable so Shelley sent Derek. First thing Derek did was look at the two existing faucets (which were 23 years old and leaked from the handle when turned on). He then showed me where the inside shut-off valves were located and turned off the water to each outdoor faucet. Next he showed me replacement outdoor faucets and the price to install each. Derek did an amazing job removing and replacing, and the new faucets are a big improvement over the old. He also took the time to tighten all my hose connections. Derek was great! I now know that when I call Excellence Plumbing, I will not be disappointed if Oscar is unavailable - whoever responds will provide excellent service.

 + -1 moreDeren, their plumber arrived on time, when they said he would. In fact I received a call from Excellence Plumbing prior to his arrival letting me know he was on his way. He assessed the problem with the toilet. It was old, was improperly sealed, the plumbing needed to be replaced and there was not guarantee that it wouldn't leak again even by replacing all of the plumbing in the tank. Deren advised that I replace the entire toilet. I know well enough that you do not cut corners after last year's disaster. The last thing I wanted to do is to have more water damage on brand new flooring so I took his advice and replaced the entire tank. The cost was more than I had anticipated however, to replace the plumbing would have been $250+ with no guarantee that it wouldn't leak again. Deren called his office manager, and within a half hour he ran out, picked up a new toilet that had been plumbed and ready for install. He had that toilet in within an hour and the old one out. Problem solved. I didn't have to deal with trying to figure out what to do with the old toilet or any of the details which was wonderful! I would highly recommend them and will utilize their services, if needed, again.
Description of Work: Powder room toilet on main level was leaking. After an extensive remodel in 2011, replacing the entire flooring on all three levels of my home due to a water heater that caused $50K + in damage (mold, water damage, flooring, walls, etc.) that took months in repairs. The entire home has been gutted. PGE identified a spike in my water usage which we traced back to the toilet. The internal plumbing had been replaced during the remodel however that did not resolve the problem. I didn't have time to spend hours on research like I had to do last year. I own a business and really wasn't happy with the companies I hired last year. I feel they were less than honest so I wasn't going to use them again. I joined Angie's list and was referred to Excellence Plumbing. I called and spoke to their office manager who said they had a plumber available that afternoon.

 + -1 moreMy sump pump stopped working and I had water in my crawl space. Excellence Plumbing scheduled a time to evaluate the problem within a day of my calling. They found that my sump pump was broken and that the pipe it was draining into was not large enough to handle the volume of water that would need to be pumped from my crawl space. Oscar replaced the sump pump and put in new pipe to drain the sump pump to a different outlet. Oscar was very knowledgeable and did a good job explaining to me the exact problems with my sump pump and drain. He did an excellent job of replacing the pump and new drain. The work was well done and timely. He then explained to me what else I should do with the crawl space area to get rid of mold and keep it mold free. I appreciated Shelley's responsiveness in getting the work scheduled and Oscar's knowledge and upbeat attitude. It was a pleasure interacting with these folks.

 + -1 moreExcellence Plumbing wasn't the first business I called when we realized our water heater was done for but it was the last! Shelly was very empathetic to our situation and was able to send someone over within a half hour of my call, even though it was almost closing time at their shop. Oscar was able to turn off the water supply, hook up a hose to drain the tank to the outside, and give us clear, complete instructions to minimize potential problems. Derrick came the next morning with the new water heater and got it installed in no time. By afternoon, I was able to run the dishwasher and still have plenty of hot water for my husband's soak in the bath. I cannot say enough about the responsiveness, kindness, expert service, and friendliness we experienced from Excellence. They will definitely be my FIRST call the next time we need plumbing services.
Description of Work: Excellence installed a brand new, 50-gallon water heater. They shut the old one down in an emergency call and drained it outside. They removed the old water heater and took it with them. The new water heater is now strapped to the wall for earthquake/safety.

I had to cancel the job 3 times because Lowe's kept delaying my stove delivery and he was very pleasant about it and not the least bit put out. He did a great job putting in the new piping, installed a 120v outlet, and installed the oven. He is very courteous and professional and he does great work. I"ll certainly use him again in the future.

 + 0 moreOn the first visit, Oscar and his assistant were very friendly and helpful. I had called for installation of a tankless water heater, which I had already purchased. They assessed the situation with the electrician, and both came to the conclusion that the extensive electrical upgrade was going to be quite expensive. I elected not to install the water heater. A few days later, Oscar came back to install a replacement sink in my bathroom. I had planned to purchase the sink myself at Lowe's, but he was able to provide me with a much better sink at a lower price. He was very efficient in installing it, and kindly did not leave me with any mess to clean up. I will be calling Excellence Plumbing for any of my plumbing needs in my home near Hillsboro, OR.
Description of Work: First visit was to install tankless water heater, which I did not have done. They took more time on the first visit and charged me $247.50, including the discount. Second visit was to install bathroom sink replacement, which cost me only $238, including the price of the sink.
