 + 8 moreWent as well as it could have gone. Q was right on time for the estimate. When he checked one of the toilets as part of the estimate, he took out a Gerber-type tool, shaved off a portion of the toilet handle and fixed the problem on the spot, free-of-charge. During the day of repairs, he was flexible, cheerful, efficient and totally professional. He has my highest recommendation, not only for handyman-type repairs but for larger remodeling projects as well.
Description of Work: Q fixed two toilets, changed sliding door handles in our home-office, installed a new kitchen faucet and replaced a section of front fence.

 + 1 moreQ came out and identified a solution for my standing water. Q was quick to respond to provide an estimate, even though it was over the holidays. Q initially thought the job would take up to a week but as I was in the process of trying to get my house on the market Q brought in extra crew and got the work done in 2 days. I was very impressed by his thoughtfulness and flexibility. I also appreciated the fact that he did some extra work at no charge "while he was down there" (removed some construction debris and tightened down the seismic bolts to the framing that were forgotten since the house was built.
Description of Work: I had some standing water in my crawlspace that was not draining properly. Q of Ethereal Elements came out and provided a cost effective solution to the issue. I have a 3200 sq/ft house so I have a pretty big crawlspace. He and his crew came in and re-graded the ground in the crawlspace, drilled 2 new drain's so the water would move from one level to the next and installed a lot of gravel to help with the drainage and slopping. He patched 2 areas on the foundation where water was getting in, replaced the existing vapor barrier throughout and sealed the seam where my garage meets my driveway to prevent any water from seeping in from that point.

 + -1 moreGood experience overall. I met with business owner, Q prior to the job. He explained his plans clearly, listened to my concerns and made some adaptations to address my concerns Q also was good about calling me regarding minor schedule changes, etc. He also saved me some money by re-using an existing drainage pipe, instead of digging a new trench. Lastly, he also replaced our deteriorating crawlspace door.
Description of Work: Sealed crawlspace walls with a white masonry sealer, brought in lots of crushed rock to create a grade and eliminate low spots (very labor intensive). Installed a polyethylene vapor barrier above the crushed rock. This project was intended to reduce humidity in the house, and initial results are encouraging.

Description of Work: Q came by the day he promised despite having been in a car accident earlier in the morning! I am having a problem with water coming in my basement during heavy rains and Q pointed out a few neighbor related issues that might be causing the problem (i.e. my neighbor has one of his gutters draining down a trench directly toward my house!) and filled me in about a little law called "water trespassing." He gave me some ideas about how to remedy the problem and being that I am a pretty Do It Yourself kinda gal, he even drew me a diagram on how to do it.

 + 0 moreSee above. Q called ahead to say he was running late from a previous work site, apologized and got to us promptly after that. Only about 30 min late total. Understandable and forgiven.
Description of Work: Q saved us untold amounts of misery and money when by his careful and conscientious examination of the house we'd put an offer on he found a deep crack through a corner of the foundation. It was a bad crack - the foundation crumbling at our lightest touch and in an area of continual water exposure. We'd called on Q to give a bid on general waterproofing and house fix ups. Wanted his estimate before buying the house. The house had been inspected by a well reputed company, by friends of ours who are in the house buying business and by two additional water proofing/foundation repair companies and ALL OF THEM MISSED the crack. Q found it almost immediately and THANK G-D. We were a few hours away from signing the deal and owning a house that we'd have ended up needing to raise to fix the foundation. Q stopped immediately, called a colleague for back up opinion and said he'd go no further with the rest of the house estimates until this problem had been addressed. It was a deal breaker. So, no go on this house but Q will be the first contractor we call when we need one in the future. He's a real find. Thank you, Q.

 + -1 moreAs requested, Q provided a detailed estimate, conferring with his electrician. After I received the "settlement" payment from the Electric Company, Q and his electrician came out to the house and replaced the meter and the weather head. When the inspector came, Q's electrician returned to be there in case there were any issues with the work done. I'm happy to say that everything went smoothly and I am quite satisfied with the new installation.
Description of Work: After a passing truck snagged the electric line that crosses the street to my house, my electric company told me to find an electrician to do the work, I was already familiar with Q when he came out to the house for an estimate and decided to use his company, Ethereal Elements for the replacement of the weather head and meter for the side of my house.

 + 1 moreQ was very quick to return our phone calls and followed through with what he promised. He corrected a miscommunication and did not charge us extra. He and his crew did an excellent job. They were very prompt and quick.
Description of Work: Q stripped the wood paneling from our two basement walls and took out the hearth of our fireplace to locate a basement leak. Then his crew filled in and sealed the area where the leak was occurring and rebuilt the brick hearth. They also put up new wall board and put in a new sliding door for us. They could have done more, but we weren't ready to have them redo the flooring.

 + 2 moreQ was quick to respond to our inquiry and provided an estimate right away. He took the time explain each part of the project. Throughout the project Q was personable, professional and kept us up to date. His crew was like wise easy to work with and very tidy. The 1st gutter subcontractor Q used was a nightmare. As soon as the problems were discovered Q immediately took control and worked with the subcontractor to try to correct it. When the corrections didn t resolve the issues, Q hired a new subcontractor and paid for the work out of pocket, effectively nullifying any profit he made on our job. Throughout the gutter fiasco, Q was communicative and professional. We do not fault Q for the 1st gutter subcontractor. These things happen and he corrected the problem right away. Q s attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right is impressive and a relief. We never worried that our project would not be completed to our full satisfaction.
Description of Work: New gutters, paint and repair wood trim and fascia boards, and patch/repair window glazing.

 + -1 moreContractor returned the next day with parts for toilet and sink. He was very professional and respectful, taking off shoes before entering house and wiping off fixtures and counter tops after repair. He repaired garbage disposal, and toilet to perfect working order.
Description of Work: Contractor came to my home and I walked him through several repairs that I needed done. We discussed priority and what had to be done now and what would be categorized as future projects. Contractor immediately made some adjustments to two toilets to stop constant running and instructed me as to how to make a temporary fix while he obtained parts.

Description of Work: Q performed various tasks around the house for me. He repaired a leaky faucet and installed a garbage disposal. He also installed a Vapor Barrier in my crawlspace. Description of Work: We had moisture seeping in through the foundation on the lower lever of our split level house. They excavated down to the lowest level for about 15 ft. across the front. They then cleaned and treated the concrete and filled in the soil.

 + 0 moreThey were very professional in the way they contacted us before coming each time, they always called and were there when they said they would. All of the people who came with them were detail oriented and wanted to make sure that we were happy with the job completely. They offered good suggestions, and were very clear as to what our homeowners policy covered and what would be extra. They were within $100 of the original estimate and were able to pinpoint the leak within a week. They had to actually dismantle the built in book cases to find the leak, so it was a lot of work. They cleaned up to the letter when they left here each day, they even replaced a framed picture that was broken during the work with no questions asked. They were pleasant people to have in the house, I had complete trust in them and felt like they had our best interests in mind. They were very cost conscious and tried to save us money in any way that they could. The owner was on top of everything.
Description of Work: Hired them to locate and repair a plumbing leak under a finished basement. They removed all of damaged areas, replaced, repaired, and left it looking as it was before.
