Davis Lock & Safe

I called late at night and left a message. They promptly called early in the morning to let me know that a technician would be arriving before noon. Within the hour they called to let me know a technician was on his way. Mike was friendly and VERY knowledgeable. As soon as he saw the cable, he knew immediately what the problem was and how much it would cost. He was fast and efficient. Within an hour my garage door was working perfectly. I would highly recommend this company.

They came as scheduled and performed the work with no fuss.

Terrible terrible attitude towards customers that had to report a problem on their faulty door knobs! And the person I talked to (David?) was rude starting from the beginning, constantly irritated, had to make me raise my voice so I could get my point through (and I hardly ever raise my voice), and eventually hung up on me. Will never deal with again! We had two service calls. The first one was for unlocking of our original broken door knob. The second one was for installing a new door knob. We called this company because they seemed to have good reviews on Angie's list which we always trusted, so even though the cost seemed high we went with them anyway. One person that came out was cordial, on time then got it done for both of the calls. The problem came after the second service call and our door knob started failing to work only shortly after that (may be about a month). We thought it was due to the cold weather so waited a bit until the episode started again, when we had to physically kick the door (it was super late at night and this company was closed) so we could get into the house, and did break part of the metal plate and cracked a bit of the door frame along the way . After this, we were fed up so we decided to call the company to ask about warranty and if there is anything they could have done for us after paying over $300 total to them. But as soon as I called and started explaining our situation, the person who answered the call who if I remember called "David" (owner?), said that there was only 30-day warranty on services and products and that we could have called earlier, and when he found out we had to kick the door in he was dismissive and tried to blame us for the fault and how now the warranty was void. And I tried to ask again if there was anything they could do to us without us having to pay so much to have them come out and check it out again, he flat out said "No, we can't!" in a stern and dismissive way. Also, during the conversation he was constantly rude and interrupting, and sounded combative to the point where I had to say "please let me finish!". Finally I had enough of it and had to confront him with his attitude, that was when he hung up on me. They are happy when trying to get $$$ from you and everything is fine, but if you show even a little bit dissatisfaction, as soon as they can put a finger on a reason to get you dismissed, they will! Never again with this company, and this is the first time an "A" rated company on Angie's list had failed us. And I have to write this so other people on the Angie's list can see it and be warned as well.

Took the repair person less than 15 minutes to replace the lock that had gone bad. He was very efficient and said this happens all the time. Our lock was 15 years old and was on the door coming in from the garage. It is the one most used in our entire house.

Technician arrived earlier than expected (totally OK)--he performed the work quickly and was out the door in no time!

Now locks and keys work smooth as butter!

I had purchased a used desk that had a push button lock for the side draws as well as a typical turn style lock for the center flat draw. The desk was missing the keys. My daughter inadvertently pushed the lock button and locked the draws. My first though was to have a Lock Smith come out to pick the lock and make a new key. When I talked to Davis, he asked me if the lock in the center draw unscrewed from the inside, and if so, to bring it in to them. Since they are only two miles away, this was easy. They were able to easily make a new key for the lock in a matter of minutes. When I got home, this new key also unlocked the push button lock. I liked the recommendation Davis gave, which saved me the cost of the service call to have someone drive out. It's this type of service where "Davis" will be top of mind for my future lock smith needs.

We visited the Davis Lock and Safe store. They explained the characteristics of the different types, brands and finishes which had the keyless feature. We selected the brand, style, and finish that we wanted and scheduled a installation date. The locksmith, Phillip, arrived promptly and proceeded to install the new locking system. He was meticulous in ensuring that it was properly aligned to the door and the latch. Everyone that we dealt with in this transaction was extremely helpful and professional. We highly recommend Davis Lock & Safe.

One worker came for the service. It took the worker fifteen minutes to complete. They were very honest and open about everything. The are was super clean. Advised me what to buy, and what not to buy in an lock.

I called Davis and said I thought I needed a locksmith to come to my house. The dispatcher asked my to describe the problem, which I did. He told me it would be over $100 to send a locksmith out but that I probably just had a tiny broken part. He said if I could bring the deadbolt into their shop, they could fix it for me much cheaper. So I took it in. The locksmith a the counter took a look, went to his parts bin and came back with a small metal part. He showed my how to put it in and how to position it as I remounted the lock on my door. He refused to take any payment for this small part!! The lock works fine now and I am a "customer for life" of Davis Lock & Safe. Very professional and very reasonable people!!

Arrived on time and quickly swapped the deadbolt.

Very fast service. Had someone to my house within 30 minutes of my call. The tech was unable to pick lock due to it being a "smart lock", and had to drill out the lock to get in.

Excellent driving directions given over telephone. Prompt and courteous service. Even cleaned up paint causing problems with deadbolt movement on interior door lock. Reasonable prices.

Doug was on time. He finished the job quickly. After he left, I found one deadbolt difficult to turn. I called Davis Lock and Safe. Doug came back right way and fixed it. It may have been more of a problem with the door rather the lock, and I said that. Doug said, "It doesn't matter. I should have tried it before I left the first time." He had tried the other locks. People who take responsibility are the best. Thanks Doug and Davis Lock and Safe!

Took the car to the shop. They instructed me to get a key number at dealership that was close by. They then cut a new key and programmed it for the car. It was done quickly and I was on my way with a key that has worked fine.

Christopher called before he came to my house. Very nice person who was welcomed by my neighbors two Great Dane's in the front yard. He worked steady and finished the job within an hour. I very happy with the service.

They were wonderful. Very prompt and professional. Recommended repair rather than replacement, which saved some money. Also I used a coupon that they provided on Angie's List which was the first time that I'd really used a business through Angie's.
