DAVE'S FLOORING

We had already purchased the material and we just needed someone to install it and put in the baseboards. Would highly recommend him. Did a good job.

They did an ok job. They really lacked on the finishing touches. They didn't caulk the base boards and didn't fill all the nail holes and we had to paint the base boards ourselves we ended up doing all the touch up work. The detail work was not done well at all. They were very kind. They didn't leave enough time to do the work so the work was rushed.

It was very good, they did a good job, and he was right in the ballpark with the estimate.

I have had one of the worst experiences with Dave's Flooring that I have ever had with a contractor. If you value your time I would not recommend him. On two different occasions he set up times to come to my house and give me a bid on a hardwood floor repair. The first time he didn't show and he didn't call. I ended up calling him. He apologized so I thought I would give him another try. The second time he said he had to work at 4:00 a.m. in the morning so I suggested he come by before his job. He set the time at 3:00 a.m. I was awake and waiting for him for over an hour before I left him a message saying I was canceling the bid. He has absolutely no regard for other people's time. I would not recommend him, I would not use him, and I certainly will caution others in need of that this type of work not to use him.

Tim & his crew arrived on time (a few minutes early even) and did the work in 6 hours. They did a great job mixing the planks up & fitting them in so that they created a nice random pattern (planks came in 3 different sizes). They carried away all the junk, although I did end up wiping out a number of light foot prints after they left, which was no big deal. Because we have a cement sub floor, they had to glue down the transitions, and we noticed the next day that one of the transitions didn't set quite right. I sent an e-mail to Dave, and Tim called right away to come by & fix it. He fixed it the next morning! We were very happy with the work done & would use Dave's Flooring again.

Dave was prompt in supplying an estimate that he stuck to. The work was started as scheduled and completed 3 days ahead of schedule. He and his crew were very knowledgeable about installing bamboo flooring and suggested various things that improved the look of our new floor. His after completion service was excellent and prompt, fixing various minor deficiencies like small cracks in boards. Overall he and his crew did an excellent job.

I called Dave to arrange an appointment to inspect our wood floors on Dec 26, 2007. He "no-showed" so we called his cell to see if he was coming and he was in Scapoose and didn't record our meeting in his planner so he overlooked it. We rescheduled for Saturday, Dec 28th and Dave arrived on time, seemed very knowledgeable and we thought- okay this guy is worth the trouble. We have a 250 square foot room that needs the underlayment ripped out and level plywood put over. He did not take the opportunity to go underneath the house in the crawlspace to inspect the joists. He said he'd get us a quote in the next couple of days- well a week went by and so I emailed him. No response. A few days later, I called and left a message on his phone... no response. I emailed him a second time and called two more times after that- both numbers listed on their website- it's been 6 weeks- absolutely no response from Dave. I'm incredibly disappointed with this company- would never call them again.

I like Dave, I liked his work last year, but I am SO frustrated! I tried for 3 weeks to get him to come and fix this seam, a very quick and easy job, and he is minutes from my house. I probably made in excess of 10 calls to him (home and cell) over this, and got a total of 2 calls back. First (this is after he didn't return my calls from the week before) he said he would have an open week and would get over sometime that week. Didn't happen. Next week, we set an appointment, he had to cancel (which is fine), and said he could do Thursday, but never called or showed. I left a final message on Thursday or Friday and said I was very frustrated, that if could not do it, then just tell me!!!! Still haven't heard back from him. Really too bad, I was recommending him to everyone I know before this. His business reputation is hurt by his unresponsive behavior/flaky (or forgetful?)

I called several times and left messages asking for someone to contact me. I did reach his wife once and she promised to deliver a message to him to call me back, but all to no avail. I never heard back. I guess he must be pretty busy if he can't return a call, even if only to say he is booked up.

Mixed feelings - overall it looks great, but the devil is in the details. The work Dave did is terrific. However, his crew was a different story. One is that they did not take up the old linoleum tile in the kitchen, laundry and downstairs hall and you can feel a slight pop when you walk over these areas to the area where they laid on bare floor. Additionally, there is a warp across several boards in the kitchen which shows when sun is shining. Trim by the fireplace has popped and recently, when we pulled out the dryer for some maintenance, we found that they skipped putting trim in those areas. Finally, the vinyl trim in the kitchen needs occasional pushes to get it to restick to the wall. I will give them that they are fast, but would have preferred take a little extra time and make a nearly perfect job great. I have called Dave recently to hire him out to fix these minor issues, but he has not returned my call from three weeks ago.

The 2 workers that showed up for the job were obviously rookies but I felt confident since they are so highly rated on Angie's. Jay was their supervisor, but did not stay for the job. The tiles are not very level, the gaps vary between the tiles (they did not use spacers). They were supposed to come back the next morning for grout. 30 min after appt time, Jay came by. I showed him some of the work and he agreed it wasn't that great. He said "it's only their 3 job, I guess I should have stayed" He was going to come back that evening to fix some tiles. He was a NO SHOW, NO CALL. He left a message the next day that he was sick and "tried to call" hmmm. Finally he came over 3 days later but I didn't want to mess with them any longer so I just had him grout the tile. It has been almost a week since the job was done. I have not heard from Dave or anyone about payment. So at this point, I am only pleased that the work was free except for the tile cost.

Owner, Dave, came to my house, took measurements for installation laminate floors in my bungalow (650 square feet). He provided bid for the labor and took down specifics on the color material I wanted and never got back to me. I contacted him once and asked if he still wanted the project, he confirmed he did and said he would call me back with pricing for the materials and left me hanging. After a few messages and an email, I got the hint he did not want the project. Maybe too small for him...In any event, it was a waste of my time and Dave's time too. (Estimate was $3260.)

Dave's had some equipment failures during this job, so it took 3 times as long as estimated. Once they were overcome the work was done well without trying to make up lost time at the expense of craftsmanship. Dave came back willingly to finish the few details his crew overlooked, such as the baseboards in the closets.

They were very pleasant to work with and it was a great experience. He went out of his way to get extra materials and was very knowledgeable. I'd highly recommend them to others!

I am blown away by the finished product. Dave's crew, which means Jared, did the work. I had the demolition work done before the crew arrived so they started right in. They did a Versaille pattern with a Travertine stone product. The floor installation went as planned, there were a few plumbing glitches with the shower, but Jared was able to make the adjustments. The cost went up but it was less than calling in a plumber. The shower is a work of art. Jared built in a seat, an insert and a soap holder. The job took a little longer than we expected, but I was easy to work with and Jared stayed until the job was completed.

Great! Dave is very easy to work with, and the two jobs were done quickly and efficiently. Dave has a great work ethic. I'd recommend him and his crew to anyone, and I will definitely hire him again.

Dave and his wonderful crew were always on time and so professional. They know there trade very well. We are very picky about work done on our home and they exceeded all of our expectations. Any question or concern we had was handled with the utmost professionalism. They came and did what we hired them to do as well as went above and beyond in the job. I will recommend them to everyone I know needing his services.

Dave and his crew are great! From start to finish, they were extremely professional and hard-working. They were on time, cleaned up afterwards, and went out of their way to do a great job. Dave even came over to finish on a Sunday, and came over to my work to pick up stuff from me instead of asking me to come to him. A couple of additional expenses came up, but Dave explained everything to me, and the expenses made total sense. I am now moving, and I will definitely hire them again at my new house. Bravo, Dave!

Great! Dave and his crew did the work quickly and professionally in 1.5 days. They hauled away all of the old flooring, cleaned the nails, put the new floor in, and did the finish work. The house looks great now, we love it!

We chose Dave to install our floor covering (even though we had lower bids) because he seemed easy going and friendly. We have been very dissatisfied with his follow through. The cement floor in the kitchen still has a line the length of the floor that can be seen through the laminate (at the time of the bid he said lines showing was a bad thing and he would take care of them). We were told by Dave that he left ''ample'' laminate at the area where the peninsula would be (he had a floor plan of future cabinets). Unfortunately, when the cabinets were installed, he had not left ''ample'', in fact, he completely forgot the toe-kick area (which you would expect a professional floor covering installer to be aware of). We notified him and he promised to stop by and take care of the problem. After much time and several calls, he finally came by and filled in the space. We found him to be very unresponsive and even failed to show up for some of the appointments -- and didn't bother to call.

Dave was prompt with an estimate (same day), and after an unexpected (uncontrollable) delay, worked within my schedule to complete the job. He was friendly, easy to work with, and was willing to work with me to keep the costs down. I removed all the moulding and toilets myself, but he gave me some instruction and helpful tips and helped me lift and replace the toilets. A pleasure to work with.

Very nice. The flooring work was great. The trim work and finish details were not that great with this job.

Dave was great. We were in a bind trying to get our house on the market in a few days. He came out right away to give us a bid and came back just a few days later to do the work. He allowed us to buy our own materials, and even told us where we could get the best deal. The floor looks great. I've already recommended him to a few of my friends.

After reading so many glowing reports concerning Daves Flooring, we called him on Sunday, just prior to Labor Day. To our amazement he made an appointment for Labor Day at 12. At 11 am he called and said he couldnt make it. We rescheduled for Monday, the next day at 1:30 pm. He failed to show up. I waited until 3 pm, but Dave never showed up, nor did he call. I called three more times and left messages for him. He never returned the calls. Im sorry that I cant evaluate his work.
