I would definitely concur with other reviewers who noted that Daniel Cosma is agreeable and professional in demeanor. He is also very knowledgeable and helped to educate us about the deteriorating foundation under a deck that we were considering repairing and refinishing. He was responsive to our inquiries to help us understand his manner of presenting a work proposal. As stated in their proposal document "we do things differently than other fence companies in the Pacific Northwest." Daniel takes pride in his work and would prefer to create a premium lasting product. Although it did take some time and effort to get an "apples-to-apples" comparison to other estimates we had received, Daniel was patient and put in the effort necessary to help us reach an agreement. The workman he sent to carry out our project was friendly, efficient and very skilled. His work added value to our property that will endure. Daniel Cosma is a man of his word.

We live on 33rd Ave and wanted to close off our yard from this very busy street. We took quotes from 4 contractors before deciding to work with Daniel's Custom. We selected the company because the price was competitive, and in his bid Daniel forwarded sample images that showed he understood what we liked. Another benefit was that Daniel works with a third party company that specializes in gate construction. We could choose from many styles, and it was so easy to come to an agreement about exactly what we wanted - and we knew in advance exactly what the gates and fixtures would look like. The only glitch was that the gates were not ready on the date promised. Communication with regard to this delay and rescheduling the installment date were the only issues we had during the process. We both work full time and wanted to be on site for the project. It's frustrating when you find out a little too late about a delay and then a few weeks later get confirmation in the morning that materials are ready and the workers are coming in a few hours. It's our first experience with home improvement. I'm told that delays and last minute changes are common. As for the work itself, we were really pleased! The team communicated well with us - stopping to ask questions along the way about positioning/preferences. We had reasons for wanting the driveway gates to swing out. This is not typical, and the hardware wasn't created for that, but Daniel figured out a work around and made it happen. The double gates line up perfectly. The single gate looks really nice with the fence style we picked out. Our lovely backyard feels so private now. We're really happy with the way things turned out.

Had Daniel come to the house to give me a bid on my deck. Came back with a proposal that looked good but I wanted to get more bids. After a little while I asked him to come back because I wanted something different. He had some good ideas and told me he would send me an Email with a new proposal and that it would be about a week. I waited and I never heard from him. I would have called but I have been busy with other things. Not sure what the deal is and really don't care at this point. He lost a sale.

The deal turned out well for the most part. They are really nice people and they did a great job on the fence. I think they were overwhelmed by the posting of the deal so it did take a while to get them scheduled out. I had to call back a few times to get the bid. My only complaint is that the gate latches were unattractive and I asked for them to come replace them. I contacted them a month ago and said that they would do it. The owner came out and said he would fix the latches as soon as he could. I got the impression the latches would be done by now. I have not yet heard back from them about the gate latches.

Daniel promptly scheduled time to visit the property, listened to my requests, and provided several difference fence styles to pick from. It took a more time than I expected to get the estimate, and schedule the job. Once that was done though, things went very smoothly. The crew was professional, did a good job of arriving and finishing on time, and cleaning up after completion. Daniel also came on site to make sure things were going okay. Overall, very satisfied with the whole process and the quality of their work.

Responded to Angie's List coupon. First time I have used this company. Very professional. The craftsmanship of the project was very good. Project was completed on time and they left the project in a perfect condition. Highly recommend.

The fence installation with Daniels went well in the end and we are very happy with our new fence. I chose them because they were a small, local business, had a good history, and offered some quality characteristics in their bid that differed from the others. I had a little communication disconnect with the person actually doing the work so I sent a note. The owner responded quickly and with great customer focus and addressed my concerns. They wanted to make sure I was fully satisfied, and followed up to ensure they had achieved that goal. Daniels is definitely a customer-focused business that delivers quality installations.

It went fine. I used a coupon that was $300 for a $1000 coupon. I wish I had obtained competitive quotes to ensure that I received value as the final price for the work done seemed high. I'd likely use Daniel again, but I would get additional quotes if, for nothing else, my peace of mind.

At short notice, Daniel can come out to do the estimate and arrange to have the job scheduled two days later during their busy season. The crew came out on the scheduled day and did the quality work despite the non-stopping rain.

He was a bit higher than I was expecting and I was talking about cedar that didn't have any imperfections in the boards. How nice that must be in some yards, but in our neighborhood and my house we like the knots and rough look and I didn't want to pay more for a polished board. He left me the quote and I spoke with my husband who then had some questions. I sent an email through Angie's and didn't hear back so I called the office and scheduled another appointment with Daniel. I wanted to try and schedule a time my husband was home and the gal on the phone was very kind and patient and we found a time to meet, Friday, 4/18 and noon. My husband and Daniel went over the details and walked the yard. My husband explained we didn't need a certain gate that was in the first plan nor some other details or the type of cedar that Daniel had explained to me. Daniel was very patient and said that was all they carried and would have to order in the cedar we wanted so the pricing may not vary much. When all was said & done Daniel reworked his quote to be reasonable. The only complaint my husband had was it couldn't be built by June 1. Daniel was booked out until the middle of June.

Met with Daniel for the original estimate and he went over the project and made a few suggestions to improve things. Overall my experience with him was good. The day of the work several men with heavy eastern European accents came out and began the work. Between them only one understood English and this led to a few issues as I had to explain what the work was several times as they didn't under stand things. This led to us essentially playing charades at one point in order to explain which side of the fence the pickets would go on. The overall fence quality was good to ok. They were a few blow-thrus with the nail gun resulting in the nail coming out the other side of the rail on the first 6 feet of fence, but after they got that adjusted the rest was fine. The fence itself was 4x4 PT posts with WRC rails and pickets. The fence itself looks really good.

I purchased a Big Deal for $350 for $1,000 toward deck or fence installation/repair! He informed me that he could purchase the wood cheaper and it would all come out even if he did it. After he built the fence, I checked at home depot for the wood. I found the wood was not so expensive. The fence turned out good and the job was done promptly. I just felt I paid too much.

It has been a fine experience so far. The gentleman came out and gave me a good quote. Their price was definitely the best price I got. We have scheduled them to do the work.

Called one week later and he was supposedly working on it. Never responded with estimate at all. If he did not want to do the job, fine. But leaving me hanging saying he would contact is a very poor business practice. If the work they perform is anything like their lack of response, stay clear.

Daniel came by the house to check out the space the day after I called him. He was quick to assess the situation and gave us a reasonable quote. We told him we wanted him to do the work and then the oddest thing happened, we didn't hear from him or his office. Eventually, I called and reached him right away. I told him we never heard from anybody, he got us scheduled for the next week. The crew showed up exactly when they said they would. They were super quick and did great work. It looked even better than I had imagined it would. We would definitely use their services in the future.

Amazing job from meeting Daniel for the first time to the time the workers drove away for the last time!!! Received my appraisal promptly and I had a couple of changes. Daniel had no issues with my changes. Workers came on time and Daniel also showed up on the first day. Workers tore down the old rotten fencing and hauled everything away. Left the work site very clean. They dug up old posts and cemented in new treated posts with caps where the cement was poured to take care of any water runoff and preventing posts from rotting. The workers were friendly and worked extremely hard. No loafing around for these workers!!! Then they started building my new fence and it was amazing to see them work so efficiently, quickly and professionally without fooling around. Daniel can be very proud of his company and workers. Daniel understood the need for promptness and followed thru.

Their quote was competitive (one other quote was about the same and one was higher) and prepared during the quote visit. The two workers arrived on the day scheduled and completed the job in the two days promised. The quality of the work was very good as was the cleanup and removal of debris. The only downside, and it was minor, was that Daniel was expected to supervise the job but did not -- the reason I did not show "professionalism" as "Excellent;" however, the two men doing the work were excellent and really did not need any supervision.

We made an appointment last Friday the gentleman that was to come out and give an estimate at 9am on the January 10, 2014, and said he couldn't make it because he had flat tire so we rescheduled it for 9am January 17, 2014. He called again today and said he would be late again but we had another appointment so we could not have him come out because of this. He then said that we had inconvenienced him. I did not like that, and we will be calling another business to complete the job.

The contractors were great. They arrived on time or early every day and stayed until they were at a stopping point. They were tidy and cleaned up after themselves. Daniel was a little hard to get a hold of but in the end we are pleased with the work and quality of the product. The fence looks great.

The fence turned out great, but the experience wasn't comfortable. Communication with the owner was difficult as his responsiveness was slow or lacking making me worry about the outcome. Though, he was nice when we did get a response. I didn't like how he offered to take $100 off the bill for a good review on Angie's List. Makes me trust the reviews less. However, at the end of the day I am happy about the quality of the fence. The workers were quick and respectful of my property.

And they put in new fence posts to help prop up the fence and generally made sure all fence slats were nailed .

They did a great job although I did have tonake sure they used quality cedar posts for the stoop railing instead of ugly treated posts. On the gate they built the posts are 4x6 making the selection of post caps Bill. Although they customized the posts to fit the caps it is a touch sloppy. These are the kinds of things only a professional would know to look for so I was slightly disappointed when I had to learn about the limit of cap choices and to find out that it would cost me even more to get them built (!). However, only the discerning eye would find the slight imperfection and the rest of the job is truly beautiful so I would use them again.

He did come out and give us a consultation and everything he did was fine but we did not go with him because we just chose to go another route. The quote was in the neighborhood of $10,500. Our deck goes across the entire back of our house; it is pretty big. Daniel himself came out and did the quote and he was super nice. He is a younger guy and was very knowledgeable and took time to do measurements. He offered us different options like whether we wanted to use real wood, or TimberTech and so forth. He was great. The quote was in line but it was not the cheapest. He answered a couple of questions for us in email and came by when he said he was going to; everything was good there. He was very easy to understand and was on time; he called to let us know he was coming.
