Daniels Custom Fences, Decks, & Construction came out and did an estimate. They did not charge for the estimate. Five days later sent a price. They seem like a quality operation. They sent out a salesman, so, I was not able to talk to an actual construction person. I would hire them for a different job.

After the design and bid phase, they showed up on the day scheduled on time and ready to work. The first day they dug the holes and set the posts. The second day they framed up the fence and started attaching the boards. The third day they finished the fence and built the gate. The fourth day they added the attachments, finished up the gate and cleaned up all debris. We love the look of the fence and so do the adjoining neighbors. The board design matched perfectly but was better built than the neighbors fence. These guys know their business! I would highly recommend them for your next project.

We solicited three vendors, Daniel's price was the lowest of the bids (bids were very close) Daniel was prompt in responding to our initial call for a bid, as well as coming to our home to measure and provide the bid. Subsequent communication with Daniel as well as meeting with him also resulted in prompt followup. There were some changes that were made different than the original quote, Daniel worked with us to accommodate those changes. Daniel also worked with us on the schedule and was able to meet the timeframe we wanted. In choosing Daniel, we looked at the other vendors work, and although all were very similar and good, we decided that the quality of the workmanship, the attention to detail and the overall look he provided was what we wanted. Two primary reasons for choosing Daniel - the method he uses for pouring the cement for the post holes; and the use of the 2x4/2x6 pressure treated timbers at ground level (both done to preserve the longevity of the wood) were important to us. Daniel's crew are competent and experienced. They were prompt for the four days they were here, polite, and professional - the job was completed with the schedule that Daniel specified. We have a complicated yard, re: many plants and difficult walkways. They were neat and careful. All debris was picked up and removed, no damage done to yard or plants. Upon completion of the job, Daniel came out to review the completed fence and to ensure that we were happy with the job I would highly recommend Daniel to anyone looking for a fence replacement.

Quality was superior, and accomplished in record time. By the way, I reported all this to you over the phone last year. If you needed a print report, I'm sorry.

I received 3 quotes for the above described fence work to be performed. All three quotes were about the same price. Andrew from Above All did a very good job walking the property with me to understand exactly what I wanted and provided a quote that evening. His written quote was detailed. After some email discussion back and forth we decided to change to the fancier picture frame fence and gate on the side of the house facing the street. Andrew provided some pictures as to what to expect. We scheduled a start date but I didnt hear from Andrew until the night before they were to start work. He said he would have to delay the start of the project until the following week due to another project going long. It wasnt a problem for the delayed start (and it actually worked out much better for me in the end) but it was late notice. Andrew's partner showed up on time (8:00am) with a two man crew on the day of the project. We walked the property and went over the written quote and the scope of the project. The project leader and his partner did a fantastic job and made incredible progress. The old fence was torn out and the posts for the new fence were set by 4pm. Luckily I was home during the day and was able to answer some of their questions and offer clarifications as they were setting the new fence line. Day two started on time and they finished the job complete by 5:30pm except for drilling the fence stop bolt hole in the concrete - which was completed the next day. I was amazed at how efficient their work was. The final result was exactly what we wanted and was absolutely beautiful. We are very satisfied.

I called the young man and he admitted fault at not getting the enclosure the same height as the rest of the fencing; he said they'd come back and redo it, but frankly, I didn't want to see them again. I asked him for a rebate, and he offered me $50.00--less than the cost of the hardware that was supposed to go on the gate. Now the gate opens with a string and doesn't always latch. I told him to just expect a poor review. I feel I was overcharged significantly for the materials and quality of workmanship.

I got bids from three contractors on Angie's List. It was difficult choosing contractors because there were so many listed. I chose ones with a high rating that did similar fence work in my area and had a large number of consistently high marks in the reviews. I found that the contractors would come down on price when I showed them who and how much each of the other contractors were charging. I chose the lowest price. The installation was scheduled for two weeks later. Two workers showed up on the scheduled date at 8:30 AM. The work was completed the same day by 3:30 PM. I was amazed how efficiently they worked. They said they have been doing this type of work for more than 15 years. I am very happy with the results. My neighbor who shares the property line with the fence is also very delighted with the new fence.

Their service was excellent. They offered to finish the new gate project that I had started for free -- it was not included in my request for the original bid, and I didn't even ask them to do it for me. They just offered to do it. Fantastic!

Daniel was very prompt in submitting a quote, scheduling the install, and he was very helpful in giving options of how the gate and enclosure cold be built. I brought a picture to show him of what I wanted, and his ideas were better than what I had planned and envisioned. He even emailed me pictures of the options so I could make a more informed choice. So the style of the fence and gate ended up being even better than I had planned, but most importantly I am very satisfied with the quality of work that was performed. On top of everything the old fence was hauled away and recycled! I would definitely use this company again and I highly recommend them.

I had to go to work on the day the crew was scheduled to arrive. I stayed home to meet them and was surprised that they were able to make it through the snowfall we experienced that day. The crew was friendly and professional and I felt very comfortable in leaving them to the job. It was a pleasure to arrive home that afternoon to a sturdy, beautiful wooden gate across the parking pad of my driveway. The crew had hauled out all of the leftovers from the previous gate, along with their debirs, and left the entire area clean. I recommend this company without reservation.

Daniel arrived promptly for the appointment to take measurements and prepare a proposal for me. Once I had the proposal I had to contact my neighbors to get their agreement to go forward. This took longer than expected, but Daniel was very patient about the process and stood behind his proposal and pricing when it took me more than 30 days to get everyone on board. The work crew arrived on time on the first day of the project and worked very diligently. It was very cold and wet a couple of the days...absolutely miserable conditions to be out digging fence post holes, but it didn't slow them down at all. I was impressed with the work ethic of Daniel and his team. It took three days to complete the demolition, setting of new fence posts, installation of 170 feet of good neighbor fencing, and two smaller sections of picture frame fencing, with gates to close off my yard from the street. I am very happy with the results. The fence is beautiful, and two of my neighbors were so happy with the results that they had Daniel replace the fencing between their yards, as well as build new gates for them. I just love the look from the street...with the house just repainted and my picture frame fence and gates, the house looks new again! I told Daniel when I was ready to replace my deck he would be the first person I called.

The work they did was excellent. Daniel wanted to do whatever he could to make us happy. I’d recommend him to others.

The fence they built is okay. The process just did not move smoothly. I purchased the Angie’s List Big Deal. I think there was a miscommunication on the type of nails. The day they arrived, Daniel wasn’t there. I had to purchase the nails I wanted separately. I should I brought it up to Daniel more. He sent me a quote and I thought I had told him, but I never emailed it. I know it isn’t all on them. When I did call Daniel, he didn’t know where to get the nails either. I ended up calling a previous contractor to get the right nails. They had to then get the right nail gun. It wasn’t a super smooth transaction. The fence is fine now. I would have used different materials. In the scheme of things it all worked out okay. They are very nice. They did do what they could to accommodate what I wanted.

I first heard about them from your email with a special to replace an existing fence. When they came out they said that would not be necessary. They could repair my existing fence at a much lower rate, plus a 30% senior discount They came out on time and completed the job, including hauling away the parts of the fence that were removed. I did not have to pay until the owner came out to inspect the project. Daniel Custom gave me an additional $50 off the quoted price.

We had an appoinment on Saturday. He never came and never called. I was dissponinted and cancled my Big Deal.

I would definitely concur with other reviewers who noted that Daniel Cosma is agreeable and professional in demeanor. He is also very knowledgeable and helped to educate us about the deteriorating foundation under a deck that we were considering repairing and refinishing. He was responsive to our inquiries to help us understand his manner of presenting a work proposal. As stated in their proposal document "we do things differently than other fence companies in the Pacific Northwest." Daniel takes pride in his work and would prefer to create a premium lasting product. Although it did take some time and effort to get an "apples-to-apples" comparison to other estimates we had received, Daniel was patient and put in the effort necessary to help us reach an agreement. The workman he sent to carry out our project was friendly, efficient and very skilled. His work added value to our property that will endure. Daniel Cosma is a man of his word.

I purchased a coupon from the Big Deal on Angie's list. for $1000 of labor for $350. Without the coupon the total cost would have been $2,015. Daniel was very prompt at coming to review my project. Initially I asked for two quotes. One for the two gates and one for another 90 foot long side fence. I felt the long side fence quote was steep ($2,950 with no Big Deal discount), so I wanted to get additional quotes from other builders. I would not buy a coupon this way again. It clouded the issue of knowing if I was getting a deal or not. Since you have no idea what the estimate will be, you are hoping the quote is fair. In the end, Daniel gave me an additional discount on his price which made me feel a little better about the true value I received. Daniel and the builders worked with me and my fence/gate designs. I wanted to reuse the existing metal frame since it was in good shape and wanted to keep my costs down. They were hesitant to do this, but in the end it turned out great. I was able to be available when they did the work and they checked with me throughout the process to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. Everyone was super nice and got the job done in a short while.

I am still trying to work that out. It's been a rough go. He didn't come out to look at my area and he just seen my deal. He was supposed to put in $1000 for $350. I asked him to come out here. It was not a smooth thing for me. I seen his reviews and he seemed to have good ratings for price. Before I bought the coupon for the deal I already had 3-4 bids. I had some high bids but his bid was higher than anybody. I wrote him an email and told him that it looks like he was not interested in doing the job. Last Thursday he left me a message but as I was gone I didn't get to respond to him. It hasn't been smooth at all and he even suggested that if his bid was not satisfactory then I could have my $350 back. When I buy some special from Angie's List I look for something special but his bid just came back so high and out of the ball park. I just feel that if he is offering $1000 of work for $350 but then jack up the price and make so much then it is no big deal to me. I tried to get this accomplished before the rainy weather. It makes me kind of sick every time I think of it. I was excited that I would be able to get $1000 worth of fencing. The first bid I got from somebody from Angie's List was when I wanted to do a full fence. I live in a condo and it's a small amount. I decided to go with a partial fence and his bid was higher than the other bids for a full fence. He claims that he has a lot of business and the feeling I get is that my work is not expensive enough for him. I have not talked to him but I just sent him an email saying that I don't think you are interested in doing my job any more. I was really excited about this deal because I knew it was worth it and a full fence was somewhere around that range. So when I got the deal I thought I would do it and save some money and now I am really hurt. I didn't put any report because I wanted him to do the job but on the other hand if I tick him off and make him mad he might not just come. I think it is a lost cause anyway. He wasn't coming out here and he made one appointment which I had to cancel because I was sick. He asked me to send the other bids. I had the appointment down for 4:30 and he had the appointment at 5:30 and so he came down at 5:30. I called at 3:30 saying that I am at the doctor's office and I would be there and he said he would be there. I told him he had to see the property to figure things out. I want people to help me to work out problems. His demeanor is professional but I want performance. If I am going to have brain surgery and he was the nicest person in the world but if you are a sloppy surgeon I am not excited. I want somebody to respond to my needs.

His estimate was difficult to read and not itemized. When asked to clarify, he declined to answer our questions explaining instead that itemizing would be too complicated and result in a higher price since he didn't do his work based on lineal ft but instead used several complicated formulas that were very difficult to explain. Bottom line, his quote was in excess of $21.50 per lineal ft. Since things sounded a little fishy I had a friend call and received a quote instantly over the phone stating he would do the work for $17.50 per lineal ft. - no hesitation, no complicated formulas. It became apparent that he raised his prices in order to compensate for the coupon. When contacted Angie's List promptly refunded the money we spent on the Big Deal and I will take my $2500 job elsewhere. At least I know I can count on Angie's List to make it right - THANKS!

It was a base bid for $1200. It is going to cost more because they are going to use relay board. There are several different options in the brochures; but the relay board is going to cost more because when we have wood deck underneath there are those support pillars. For the wood deck, we don't need pillars to be as close to each other, and when they use relay board the pillars have to be closer. Probably, when they look underneath, they would say they couldn't use relay board because the way pillars are located, which is more expensive. I didn't like that he was supposed to come day before; but somehow he wrote my address wrong. He was way out other side of the town. He called up me to say he will be delayed by 10 minutes, and then he called back again saying, it is going to be longer than that because he was stuck in some kind of traffic due to construction. He then rescheduled it for the next day, and that was rather odd to me. He seemed to me an exact person to me, and I thought he would never make a mistake. He is a likeable young man. He is very motivated and very wanting to do well in life. He seemed very professional.

We never got together on the price. We never had a formal estimate but the informal estimate was more than what I wanted to pay. The estimate was for $6000 and it was too much money. It was quite a while before I got the estimate back as he was very busy. He came out very quickly but he took a long time to get the estimate back. I decided not to do that repair and so, I did not use the big deal coupon. I would consider using him in the future.

The job was fairly small and we thought it would only take around two hours. They ended up working at least double that and in 90 degree weather. They were polite, cleaned up everything before they left and even replaced an extra board that was not in the quote for no charge. Good guys and I would recommend them.

Daniel was very good at communicating the materials, methods, and timing. His workers were polite and punctual. The results were exactly as hoped for. The best thing about the experience is that Daniel initially told me it would take a matter of three days to complete, and that they had other obligations that meant the job could not start until Wednesday. But when I told him I was a little worried about my new puppy because I'd seen coyotes in the area - he found a way to start and finish the job on Monday. We were very pleased.

Daniel Cosma came to our home to discuss a fencing project, one piece of which was simply to replace old fencing. The other piece required a little vision and artistry. On all counts, Daniel was professional and helpful. He talked us through the options for our gated side yard, and provided timely estimates for these options. He is a problem-solver, and each time we asked, "What if...?" he offered several possible solutions. It was fairly easy for us to settle on a design. From there, the work was scheduled to take place within a week. The execution was flawless. The result is exactly what we were hoping for. It is rare to get what you want when you barely know what it is yourself, but in this case that is exactly what happened and Daniels Custom Fencing is to blame. We couldn't be more pleased. It is obvious that this is a company that truly wants the customer to be completely satisfied. We wish there were more like them around. We will definitely call them when it is time to replace our deck.
