Tibor was very professional and courteous. His team was very skilled and the floors turned out beautifully. Tibor has many years of experience and gave valuable input as to our tile choices. This was a relatively small job for him but he treated us the same as if we had hired him for a large remodeling job. As a bonus, Tibor used the leftover travertine to tile our laundry room counter - without charge! I would highly recommend Creative Tile to all who ask and I will definitely hire him in the future.

Tibor came out and bid the project. The bid was competitive and I liked his expertise, though it was clear that he was not personally going to do the work. However, he seems to be the head guy and supervises his workers quite closely. This was a rental property and I didn't want a very fancy tile job. He understood what I needed and didn't try to sell me more. He told me how much field tile and bullnose tile to buy. They started work the same day I gave them the go ahead. This was a vacant property so I wasn't there to see any of the work in progress but the outcome looked fantastic. They went the extra mile in cutting some very narrow tiles to fit in a tight spot that Tibor originally said was too narrow and I agreed that it didn't need to be done. And they mitered the bullnose in the corners to look quite professional. Cleanliness was quite high. They left some cardboard in the tub so I know they were protecting the tub throughout the work. They left everything quite clean and even took the old tub surround (in pieces) and other construction debris that was on the premises. I was quite happy with the work and have am already planning to hire them for a another job in my own house.

We are very pleased with the result. Tibor is easy to deal with, he is flexible, he works to attain the satisfaction of his customers. He checks the works, constantly in contact with us to discuss whatever issues encountered during the construction. He always has the solution which is favorable to the homeowners, he knows to work that way, he goes to the extent in making sure we are happy, and we are. The work is polished, quality work for sure. Even if they do the work over and over, they are willing to do it until what we want is achieved. The workers are real nice people, they are courteous, considerate, most of all, they do really, really good job. No doubt that from now on, we will only call Creative Tile to do our other renovations because with them, we can be assured we are dealing with real people. We know how they work, we cannot be wrong with them based on our experience. The only thing lagging during the time frame,was the estimated weeks to finish, mainly because they had to wait for the garden window and sliding door to be done, but we are okay nevertheless, it was not a big deal to us. We rather wait a bit more with a polished job than a quick but poorly done work. Thanks to Angie's List for this brilliant idea of listing companies.

He is simply wonderful. He cleaned up. The crew were almost always on time and there were often times multiple people working. All of the subcontractors were all really easy to work with, showed up on time, and really wanted to do the job right. Everyone on the project was very professional. We would definitely use them again.

It went very well. Tibor coordinated workmen efficiently. Told us when we needed to have house available. Worked with us when we needed to change timing from original start date. We delayed the start about 3 weeks, and when he started, the bathroom was usable in 2 weeks. We knew what to expect and Tibor was responsive to my email and phoned questions. There was a small mishap and wallpaper was damaged. Tibor arranged for hanger to return and repaper 2 panels. We are very pleased with the result.

Tibor checked everything out, and then NEVER got back to me. I called him and I emailed hime asking for his bid and NEVER heard back from him. I felt perhaps my job was too small for him??? I don't know, since he NEVER bothered to call or email me. Very poor service .

Excellent experience with Creative Tile. Due to time constraints on the job, I needed to get this handled quickly. I sent an email out describing the job in detail to several Angie's List contractors with great reviews. Several contractors never responded but Tibor got right back to me and after discussing my needs was able to fit this small job into his work schedule. The job was completed as scheduled and the work was excellent. I would give Tibor and Creative Tile & Remodel the highest recommendation.

An excellent experience! I would highly recommend Tibor and his crew! Tibor was able to give me an initial estimate within one day of contacting him via phone. I got three bids and his bid was the lowest. He took his time to explain the project and provide additional ideas. I had more questions, and he returned to my house within one day of my call. He was very prompt and thorough in his estimate. Genaro did the work and it took him six full days from pouring the shower pan to installing the grout. Genaro was also easy to work with. He was on time, professional, and detailed in his work. I would hire this company again in the future.

PROS: great subcontractors - Great expertise, good communication skills, spoke English fluently, didn't cut corners. - Justin, his foreman, was awesome: polite, knowledgeable, and patient :). Dean was also great. - Gary, from Clearwater Plumbing, was knowledgeable, professional, and polite. Treated the site with care. Measurements were right on, and so was the installation. - Genaro, from Tileworks, did a beautiful job on our uneven walls (floor to ceiling tiles). Measured twice, cut once, so thorough. Included me in all decisions and advised me on the overall design, truly valuable. I picked 4 different types of tiles, 3 grout colors. All the patterns are square!!!!! Gorgeous installation. - Sam, the electritian, changed my view on electricians in general. Not a prima dona :) :) Knowledgeable, polite, and honest. He was able to get the wiring for heated floors without extra cost to us. Thank you! - Elisio, the carpenter, did an exquisite job on the wainscoting. CONS: tile dust - We're still removing tile dust from our garage. At the end of the job, they passed a blower throughout the garage to get it cleaned out, but we're still finding pesky dust all over our storage items on our wall racks. We also had the dust cleaned from our windows. Overall: very happy with the final product.

We initially hired Tibor in Oct 2012, we were very happy with the fireplace mantel and the tile surround installation, however the bathroom sub floor and tile install was terrible. Tibor consented to redo the bathroom floor totally at his expense, and it now looks great. I admire Tibor for wanting to make it right, I will not hesitate to use CTR again.

Overall it was a very good experience to work with Tibor and his team. Remodeling in winter has its own set of challenges but Tibor worked hard to keep the project on budget and on time for the holidays. I would recommend working with Tibor and his subs for additions and remodeling projects.

We intended to remodel the bathroom ourselves, but work hours caused us to hire the work done. We chose Creative Tile and Remodel because of their Angie's List rating. We went into the job knowing exactly what we wanted. There was a delay due to issues with the electrical inspector (we did our own electrical). The delay caused the job to conflict with other scheduled projects, but the remodel was done in about 3 weeks and was exactly what we had planned and hoped for. Tibor was great to work with despite the scheduling conflicts. We are VERY pleased with the results.

Creative Tile and Remodel built us a new powder room (out of an unused pantry) and remodeled a full bath for us (down to the studs) to accommodate our elderly relative in his nineties moving in with us. We had only a five-week timeframe, and they met the deadline. The bathrooms have held up fine now for over 6 months, and our relative takes a shower in the new curbless, accessible shower with grab bars, almost every day. Tibor Lakatos is an expert on tile and suggested a top border for the tile that was even better than our original idea. Total work included the following... Gut existing bathroom; add curbless double shower where tub was; add sink, marble-top vanity, medicine cabinet, light fixtures, fan. Tile the floor, shower, and walls; paint rest of walls; add heated tile floor of one-inch hex tiles in black-and-white pattern seamlessly transitioning into two-inch hex tiles. Powder room: turn pantry into powder room by adding pocket door, toilet, sink, mirror, moving electrical panel, and painting walls and ceiling and adding a fan and light fixture. In addition, we had most of the plumbing downstairs redone and gas lines improved. At times it was like a 3-ring circus. And I mean that in a good way! At the same time, there were carpenters, plumbers and electricians working on our remodel. Six months later we noticed a slight problem with the grout along the floor of the bathroom. Tibor sent someone to fix it right away at no charge. Great service! A few miscommunications were resolved nicely and we are very happy with our new bathrooms. There were surprises along the way. The floor in the new bathroom had to be completly rebuilt. The electrical panel in the powder room had to be moved. These surprises were handled with hardly a blip by Tibor and his gang of craftsmen. Also the project did not exceed our budget, though it cost slightly more than anticipated due to decisions and tradeoffs we made ourselves. And due to the nature of working on a house built in the 1920s!

Not only was Tibor responsive during the bid process, but there was the same level of responsiveness and professionalism through out the job. The entire team, including the subs, were great to work with. I was doing this project on a budget and he worked with me to create a lovely space within that budget. I cannot be happier with the final product.

Tibor was extremely responsive, returning my initial call and coming by to give an estimate the same day. We had three highly rated Angie's List tile contractors look at the project, and Tibor was the most confident he could do it quickly without compromising the quality of the finished product. We're just finishing an 18 month whole home remodel, and after dealing with dozens and dozens of tradesmen, working with Tibor was refreshing. He is honest, hard working, takes responsibility for his team, and delivers a beautiful product. He was extremely flexible when we had to move dates because our tile didn't come in on time, and had his team at our house bright and early the day he promised they would be there. They unfortunately ran into more difficulty removing the old concrete under the tile hearth than they expected, but instead of insisting on a change order, as other contractors likely would have, Tibor and his team worked diligently to get the job done. They even had to bring in a jack hammer to get up the most stubborn pieces. Through this process they made some minor scratches to the hardwoods around the mantle, so Tibor sent his flooring sub to our house the same night to fix them. Tibor's tile setter was a very kind and patient man with fantastic attention to detail. He worked with us to lay out the tiles exactly as we wanted them, and did a beautiful job. We couldn't be more pleased. We will absolutely hire Tibor again in the future, the building community needs more people like him.

Tibor was very responsive to my request for a quote for a new backsplash in our kitchen. The demo of the previous tile was not as clean as we had hoped so we had to replace the drywall prior to the new tile. Other bids for just the drywall replacement were more than double his quote and they did a thorough job including repairing the wall texture. His employees were friendly and on-time and I am currently going to work with them on another project.

Tibor and the team were very respectful, timely and worked very very hard. Adjusted schedule as our plans changed mid stream. Appreciated the promptness of the folks working on the project. Result - completed in a timely manner and a beautiful shower. thank you !!

My first meeting with Tibor was good. I explained what I wanted to have done (see above) and he said his company could do all of the work. I purchased the home in mid-August but I had an apartment rented until the end of November so I would not have to live in the house during the construction. After signing a contract and giving Tibor a deposit, demolition on the bathrooms and floors started promptly as was the roof. I was given completion dates for each part of the project but rarely were they met. Deadlines and appointments were not missed by hours or days, but by weeks and months! Though Tibor said he would fix any problems, as of this writing, I am still waiting for a floor vent to be installed and an electrical inspection to be completed. (UPDATE: After reading this review, Tibor contacted me and all unfinished projects have been completed.) The project was "completed" and I moved into my house a month ago. Since calls and texts don't prompt action from him, I'm hoping this review will. I have many complaints about this project. These are the highlights: The roofers did not order enough materials and the roof sat half-finished for weeks. Once it was finished, the extra roofing materials and trash were left on my lawn for months. The interior demolition went the same way: Quick start, slow finish and trash left out for weeks/months. One bathroom was extended into a closet so plumbing and wiring had to be moved. TV cable wires were somehow pulled into the bathroom. Only after several complaints was the problem fixed, and then it had to be redone to be put back in it's original place and condition. There were no less than five men working on the tiling. Even though we left meticulous notes about what went where, one man would remove the notes, move the product, and then leave. The next man had to guess about things. The results were missed grout, wrong grout in some areas, mixed grout colors in others. To my horror, I came into the house one day during the tiling phase to find the guys using the wet saw on the brand new hardwood floors when there was an entire garage to work in just a few feet away! I complained for three days before the saw was moved to the garage. By then, the tile cutting was nearly done. Rarely did the workers clean up after themselves. I recently hired another plumber to take care of a separate plumbing issue and while he was in the crawl space he removed the trash that Tibor's men left behind. (He also corrected a poorly connected pipe connection that could have caused a major leak had it not been discovered.) I found trash in cabinets, in corners, etc. There were problems with the cabinetry and countertops as well, though that was not Tibor's fault. There are a few good things that happened: The first interior job to be completed was the hardwood flooring. That was one of the few projects that went smoothly, on time, and looks beautiful. A crew was hired to replace a rotted subfloor. They were on time and worked quickly, efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. A pocket door was installed and trimmed. It looks and works great. The crew was efficient, and neat. The only reason I did not give this company all failing marks is because anyone looking at the work without knowing the history of the job would think it is nice. I however, know the history and see the two different grout colors in the same shower and it irritates me everytime I look at it. (UPDATE: The incorrect grout has been replaced with the correct grout, and the grout has been sealed to my satisfaction. I now consider this job completed.)

Tibor & his crew were great! Tibor returned my voicemail quickly and came by to give me a free estimate on the repairs. From what we saw on his website we thought our job would be too small for him, we are so glad it wasn't! His employees showed up on time, were quiet, cleaned up at the end of the day, & even laid down paper from the front door through the house to the worksite so they wouldn't damage existing flooring. We had a vacation planned during the work & they were nice enough to put the job on hold until our return. We are very pleased with the work that was done & will definitely call them again.

Our upstairs washer malfunctioned and left us with some serious water damage. After the dry out and demo, we had Creative Tile come in and hang new sheet rock in the affected areas. They did a great job, especially the mudding and sanding. What is most important to note is that they were VERY clean. My wife is very hard to please and they made her quite happy. We didn't have the sort of dust issues that you normally run into when drywall work is done in your home. We also had them re-tile our upstairs bathroom and install a vanity. It all looks great. They even hauled away my old vanity, something I asked for after the estimate, and they didn't charge me. I thought that was nice. They were very prompt and finished the job exactly when they said they would.

Great work with reasonable cost.

We hired Tibor after getting five bids for our project. The bids had a wide range and we chose Tibor because he was highly rated on Angie's list, didn't bid products, outlined what was to be done specifically, had clear prices and was available sooner rather then later. We wanted to have full control over the materials used and although he offered to source products, we didn't ask that of him. The project started and was progressing quickly until the plumbing parts were needed. The supplier we used was awful! The products took weeks to arrive and we are still one part short almost four months later! Whatever you do, don't use George Morlan! Sadly, Tibor warned of us their reputation and we naively thought it wouldn't happen to us. Needless to say, the parts delay caused work to come to a screeching halt and Tibor's schedule was thrown off by our lack of parts for the job. Tibor had nothing to do with our ordering and did everything he could to get the job back on track when the parts finally came in. His patience, honesty and flexibility was what kept me from going crazy. I really appreciated that he answered phone calls, stopped by the job site almost everyday and kept a positive attitude. He was very professional and when something came up we were able to get it resolved quickly. He was also able to do extras that were not in the bid. but through my changing plan needed to be done. He arranged for a carpenter to come and Frankenstein my bathroom cabinet after I decided to change the height, which turned out to be an amazing stroke of genius and cost saving. I had two ceiling fans installed and had one of the bathrooms painted. I felt Tibor to be knowledgeable of the business/industry, city code, have great subcontractors and overall wonderful to deal with. We are both happy we went with Tibor and enjoy the bathrooms we had remodeled.

Within a day of my inquiry to CTR, Tibor came to my house to discuss what needed to be done. Another day and I had his proposal in hand. Response was so much quicker and so much more specific than I?d found for my project that only the estimate, fair and clearly conveyed, was needed to begin to establish the confidence and trust so earned by CTR in the course of this remodel. In addition to echoing the praise Tibor and his gifted craftsmen have received from other satisfied clients ? for overall management, construction skill, the beauty of the tile work, and good client-contractor rapport, what I have to add is what this particular project says about a firm more than a cut above on the ground: Design ? Short of hiring a designer you?re not likely to end up with a final result so personalized, so in-place, so right for each client. This kitchen and bathroom are in a very modest house. I would have expected prefab this and big-lot that. Instead ? and for a relatively modest outlay ? I have custom-made cabinets and tiled counters and a shower that set this place apart. No cookies cut here. Professional Relationship Among Contractors ? Everyone on the project seemed to have implicit respect and trust in Tibor and among themselves. Responding to the Unexpected ? The home is in its seventh decade and had never been remodeled. This presented some rather seldom encountered difficulties. This Old House, and not in a good way. The electrician, plumber and drywall expert were resourceful and found solutions, costs for which were well worth it and added to the value of my house. Without those costs, CTR?s original estimate proved sound. I would have complete confidence in contracting again with Creative Tile and Remodel and would urge anyone to do the same. kit;ensive

After Tibor reviewed the bathroom and what needed to be done, he provided a quote within a few days which we accepted and then presented the contracts in person. They started 3 days later and were finished within the estimated time. We needed a quick turnaround, so we were grateful that they could squeeze us into their busy schedule.

Tibor was very prompt and professional with his estimate. Slight scheduling difficulty due to staffing, but he went above and beyond to work our small job in. All the workmen who helped with our project were prompt, skilled, careful, and polite. They cleaned up so well, that you wouldn't know they were ever here! All debris was removed, and we love the results!
