Great work, would hire again

BEWARE - DO NOT HIRE! On 5/2/16 I scheduled the deep clean service for my townhome at 8 AM on 6/5/16. Per my sales contract, I was required to have a professional cleaning done prior to vacating by 5 PM on 6/5. I should also note that I am 7 months pregnant, and unable to clean it thoroughly myself. I found it odd that my interaction over email for the quote and scheduling was unorganized (missing key details), unprofessional (poor spelling, such as 'estimote'), and confusing (I had to verify that they had the info they needed and that I was indeed scheduled). I should have known that this was a sign of how they do business. When they did not show up or call by 8:50, I called to find out what was going on. The owner answered with "hello", making me confirm that I had dialed the right number for the business. I explained who I was and the issue, and he said he would look into it and call me back. 30 minutes later he called me back to confirm that I was on their schedule, and apologized for his mistake. He explained that he found one worker who could be there by 10:30 (2.5 hrs late) and another by noon. I thanked him for finding the workers. When he went on to confirm that I would have a check for payment, I asked if I would be compensated for the inconvenience. After 5 seconds of silence, he said "Well, I don't know about that, what do you think would be fair?" I answered "I was quoted $265 for the clean, I think $225 would be fair". He replied that he could not do that, it was a Sunday after all. I went on to remind him that this was their mistake, and that I was an unhappy customer at that point. This statement angered him, and he said "You know what, you're unhappy with our work, so we are not coming anymore!" I WAS SHOCKED and said "This is absurd, I cannot believe that you are screwing me like this. Do you know that I am 7 months pregnant, and cannot find someone else at the last minute like this?". He said "I'm sorry, but I am calling and cancelling my workers" AND THEN HUNG UP ON ME. I should mention that I was calm but direct on the phone, not rude at all, so this response was COMPLETELY unjustified. I cannot believe that a company can continue to exist with such poor service and lack of dependability. I understand that mistakes happen, and maybe he would be unable to compensate a lower fee, but TO CANCEL AFTER THEY ALREADY DIDN'T SHOW UP and then HANG UP ON ME is dispicable.

I've been using them for almost a year and the quality and responsiveness is excellent. They do more than expected every time and always take any special requests in stride. Even my grumpy cat who hate all visitors doesn't seem to be bothered on cleaning days. I've referred co-workers to them and everyone thanks me for the referral. They're just that good!
